Chapter 64 Ah Zi, the Fox Borrowing the Tiger's Power

At the entrance to the training ground, Di Jingcheng protected A Zi and retreated to the back. The Imperial Guards were all well-trained elites, and they were not too overwhelmed in resisting these assassins. However, the other side had clearly gone all out, and these assassins were considered top-notch martial arts masters in the martial arts world.

Di Jingcheng didn't want to reveal too much of his strength, but with his beloved girl by his side, he didn't want anything to go wrong. So, he gave the order, and Cheng Er, along with seven hidden guards lying in ambush, immediately joined the battle.

There were ten assassins on the other side, but they couldn't get close to Di Jingcheng, let alone successfully assassinate him.

Di Jingcheng felt that these assassins were not a threat, but he was not careless, fearing that another assassin might suddenly appear and catch them off guard. He held Azi tightly in his arms, pressing her little head into his chest: "Baby, be good, you won't be able to eat your snacks if you see this."

Azi nodded obediently, feeling a pang of pain as she listened to the sounds of fighting outside. A moment later, the sound of a sword piercing flesh filled the air, a bloody cacophony; accompanied by chaotic footsteps and the clashing of weapons…

Azi was curious and wanted to peek out, cautiously revealing her large, curious eyes from under Di Jingcheng's cloak. Di Jingcheng watched her helplessly, raising his hand to cover her eyes: "Aren't you scared?"

Azi raised her hand and pried his hand open a crack, just in time to see the Imperial Guard plunge his sword into the assassin's throat. Bright red blood spurted out, splattering all over the Imperial Guard's face, clothes, and sword.

Azi couldn't help but shiver, abruptly closed her eyes, and took a deep breath.

Di Jingcheng turned the person's head back: "I already said I'm not going to watch anymore, I probably won't be able to eat tomorrow."

Azi shuddered and shook her head violently in his arms: "Ugh! I don't want to watch anymore!"

Di Jingcheng affectionately patted her head: "It's okay, I'm here." As he spoke, he hugged her even tighter.

Cheng Er and his group clearly had the upper hand, and their opponents were proving to be quite formidable. Just as the outcome was about to be decided, two more men in black descended from the sky.

Leader Sun recognized the two figures somewhat, but had no time to think about it. Their martial arts were clearly superior; several Imperial Guards were injured. Cheng Er and several bodyguards exchanged glances and quickly unleashed new techniques, forcing the two to retreat steadily.

Seeing that things were going badly, one of them quickly flew away.

The other man clearly hadn't expected his companion to abandon him. In that moment of distraction, he was stabbed in the shoulder by a sword and then kicked to the ground by Cheng Er. The man coughed up blood in pain, panting heavily, his eyes filled with resentment as he glared at the approaching group of enemies.

Just then, one of the black-clad assassins, who wasn't quite dead yet, suddenly stood up from the pile of corpses and thrust his sword at Di Jingcheng. His mask had fallen off, revealing a ferocious expression, and he looked utterly fearless in the face of death: "Di Jingcheng, die!"

Azi hurriedly opened her eyes and looked over, seeing that the man's sword was pointed directly at them, constantly approaching. Di Jingcheng narrowed his eyes slightly and gently comforted the person in his arms: "Don't be afraid."

Before the assassin could even touch his target, Qinghe kicked the sword out of his hand. With lightning speed, she pinned him to the ground, pinching his mouth shut to prevent him from committing suicide. The assassin felt utterly humiliated, unable to even defeat a woman.

Seeing that the man had been captured, Azi hugged him with lingering fear, then angrily pulled Di Jingcheng's hand and walked over, looking down at the fierce and humiliated assassin.

"Hmph, let's see how arrogant you are!" Azi raised her slender leg and kicked the assassin's shoulder, her little face both haughty and cautiously probing, afraid that the assassin would fight back but also having the strength to rely on. Qinghe couldn't help but chuckle. The assassin in her hand twisted his strong body in protest, but he couldn't speak, and could only glare at Azi and Di Jingcheng.

Seeing A Zi's smug look as she bullied others, Di Jingcheng thought his darling was just too cute. She was so scared just now, but now she's bullying people with her power. Haha.

The attention on the other side was indeed drawn to the "resurrected" assassin. In that instant, the wounded assassin pulled out a handful of lime from his pocket and threw it at the crowd before disappearing into the night.

Everyone covered their mouths and noses and coughed. When they finally saw the scene before them, the assassin was nowhere to be seen.

"They got away, damn it!" Cheng Er cursed under his breath.

"Don't pursue a desperate enemy; don't fall for a diversionary tactic." Di Jingcheng's voice rang out, and everyone turned and bowed their heads, awaiting instructions.

"Your Majesty, please forgive me, but the assassin was seriously injured and could not have gone far." Cheng Er stepped forward and knelt down to beg for forgiveness.

Emperor Jingcheng waved his hand casually: "It's alright, I know what I'm doing. Isn't there still one alive?" He looked at the assassin that Qinghe was holding. Zheng He'er and Zheng San ran over and stuffed smelly socks into the man's mouth, having found them somewhere.

Azi watched from the side, a hint of excitement in her eyes, as if she also wanted to step forward and stuff the smelly sock into his mouth. The man twisted his body unwillingly, and two imperial guards stepped forward to restrain him. Azi, still holding Di Jingcheng's hand, offered half of her body and kicked the assassin again.

She snapped, "I told you to behave!" She meant to kick the assassin's shoulder, but lost her balance and kicked him in the face instead.

Her shoes were wet from the snow and covered in mud, leaving a clear footprint on the assassin's face. The crowd chuckled softly at the Queen's childish behavior.

Di Jingcheng supported her, afraid she would fall. He was also charmed by her cuteness and laughed along with the others. Azi glared at him in dissatisfaction, then looked at the others who were looking down.

Is it that funny?

Fearing he would anger her, Di Jingcheng quickly put on a serious face and said, "Did you hear me? No laughing."

"Yes, Your Majesty, Your Majesty the Empress." The crowd composed themselves and began to deal with the corpses scattered on the ground.

The coachman had seen the fighting outside and dared not come out, but now that everything was alright, he immediately drove the carriage out: "Your Majesty, Your Majesty! The carriage is ready."

Emperor Jingcheng helped Azi into the carriage, and the group returned to the palace in an orderly manner, as if nothing had happened.

——Grand Secretary's Residence

After having dinner with her father in the front hall, Mu Wanyu took Huichun and Huiqiu for a walk around the mansion to aid digestion. Back at Lanyuan, Mu Wanyu, still weak and breathless, sat on a soft couch and let the two massage her, closing her eyes to enjoy the massage, which relieved much of her fatigue.

"Go and prepare some hot water. I've just sweated a bit, so I want to take a bath." Mu Wanyu leaned back, one hand supporting her head, covered with a fine wool blanket that looked very soft and warm.

"Yes, Miss." The two went out to prepare the water and things for the bath.

As the door closed, the room became extremely quiet.

Suddenly, a heavy object fell from the eaves, making a dull thud as it hit the ground. Mu Wanyu was startled by the sound, quickly opened her eyes, and shrank back while clutching her wool blanket.

When she saw the object clearly, she wanted to scream, but before she could make a sound, a bloody hand covered her mouth tightly.

She opened her eyes in terror, and large tears streamed down her face!
