Chapter 30 Teacher Xiaoran

“Professor Jiang, Professor 'Guava' just requested the retraction of the manuscript. We are currently working on a new manuscript. Could you please give us a little more time?” Hua Rui pleaded repeatedly, her hands clasped in prayer.

Jiang Junchi's face instantly darkened: "How did your editorial department communicate with the authors? Submitting the manuscript right before typesetting? What's going on? When will I get the prepared copy?"

Hua Rui looked apologetic but dared not argue. She raised an eyebrow at Qian Lai and said, "Our author is writing right now. Please, Teacher Jiang, please, please give us a little more time."

Jiang Junchi strode over to Qian Lai's side in a low voice. She wrote, and he read. After a long while, Qian Lai put down her pen with a "click," and then heard the man beside her say, "Alright, after the proofreader signs it off, hurry up and format it."

After saying that, he took Qian Lai's manuscript, wrote annotations on it in red pen, and signed his name.

Um?

Is it that smooth?

Hua Rui was surprised, and everyone was astonished. This wasn't like Teacher Jiang at all!

"Young comrade, do you have a pen name?" Jiang Junchi asked.

"Xiaoran. Xiao means carefree, and Ran means natural."

"good."

The name reflects the person!

After writing "Xiao Ran" in the author's section of the proofreading and submission form, Jiang Junchi said to Qian Lai with admiration, "I really like Teacher Xiao Ran's writing style. It's free and unrestrained. That's exactly the kind of new quality we hope to discover in young people in this competition. Very good!"

"I hope you will actively participate in submitting articles, and I look forward to seeing your work in the next issue." After saying that, he handed the signed manuscript and form to Hua Rui and instructed, "It's already late to submit the manuscript today, so please send it for proofreading as soon as possible. Also, the author you found is quite good."

If that 'guava' continues to use such tricks, no matter how well the writing is, we'll reject the manuscript.

"Yes, Teacher Jiang."

Hua Rui suppressed a gasp and watched Jiang Junchi leave in a hurry before hugging Qian Lai tightly: "Teacher Xiao... Teacher Xiaoran, you are amazing. You saved me again."

Xiao Ran was the pen name Qian Lai used in later generations. He never expected that it would shine in this world.

"Hua Rui, is Teacher Xiao Ran your friend?" Male colleagues always flock to pretty girls, especially pretty girls with literary talent.

"Yes, let me introduce you. This is Teacher Xiaoran, who is my savior and my best friend."

"Hello, Ms. Xiaoran, my name is Meng Tianyu. Can we get to know each other?" The young man extended his hand to her.

"Oh right, I almost forgot the important thing. Teacher Xiaoran, the person I'm taking you to meet today is someone Tianyu introduced to me. Let's go, let's go now."

"Oh? So you were introducing her to Teacher Xiaoran?" Meng Tianyu scratched his head, embarrassed, and stopped them, saying, "If I had known it was for such a beautiful and talented girl, I would have changed the place for you. This one, maybe we shouldn't go."

"Why?"

Meng Tianyu looked ashamed, rubbing his neck and blushing as he said, "Since you said the demand isn't high, I didn't dare recommend a large company to you. I just... I only recommended a small workshop. But if you don't mind its small size, you can go and take a look. After all, it should be enough for your own use."

Upon hearing this, Qian Lai felt a chill run down her spine, but since she was already there, she decided to go and see for herself.

Having submitted her manuscript, Hua Rui felt a great sense of relief. This weekend had essentially started early.

Qian Lai sat on the back of Hua Rui's bicycle, as if she were being carried to heaven.

The woman, as swift as the wind, carried Qian Lai through the streets and alleys for quite a while. They were almost out of the city when they finally found the "small workshop" that Meng Tianyu had recommended.

This is a small, family-run factory. Upon receiving Meng Tianyu's notification, the person in charge, Lao Zhang, was already waiting for them to arrive.

"Ladies, Tianyu told me what you need. You want to buy non-woven fabric and waterproof film? Please come with me."

Hua Rui and Qian Lai followed Lao Zhang from the front yard to the back yard, and the further they walked, the more uneasy they became.

Putting aside their production capabilities, their hygiene conditions don't seem to meet the standards at all!

The mountain of production waste in the front yard, the moss climbing the walls, and the narrow, cramped passageway leading from the front yard to the back yard—none of these things looked reassuring.

Hua Rui cursed Meng Tianyu inwardly, thinking, "He's all talk and no action."

However, when Old Zhang led them around a corner into the backyard, a completely different world unfolded before them.

The backyard is twice the size of the front yard and is entirely enclosed in glass.

The bluestone tiles on the ground were polished to a shine, like jade that had been handled. Some areas were covered with light green plastic flooring, with the raw materials neatly arranged on it.

In the courtyard, there were three large tile-roofed houses facing south. Inside, the lights were bright, there was no drifting catkins, and even the smell of chemical reagents was almost nonexistent.

"Honey, quick, this is the client Tianyu introduced."

"Hello, I am Hua Rui, and this is my friend Qian Lai."

Old Zhang's wife, Sister Mi, appears shrewd and capable, yet her every move exudes the warmth and kindness of an older sister.

"So you're two very beautiful young ladies. No wonder Tianyu was so enthusiastic. Come on in, welcome to our acupuncture workshop."

Afterwards, Qian Lai and her friends followed Sister Mi to visit all the workshops. They were surprised to find that this factory, though small, was fully equipped.

This was the first time she had learned how non-woven fabrics and plastic films were made. Although the process was simplified and lacked the advanced technology of large factories.

Fortunately, it can be customized to meet specific needs.

Needle punching combined with chemical adhesives can make ordinary nonwoven fabrics softer. However, the disadvantages are that the cost is slightly higher and the manufacturing process is more complicated.
