Chapter 36 Fifty Bullets

Jiang Wenwan walked over and sat directly opposite Zhang Sanye.

Seeing her eyes shining as she looked at the things on the table, Master Zhang couldn't help but smile.

“No woman here touches this thing. Even those young educated youths aren’t as bold as you.”

Let's make this clear first: you can't use this to hurt anyone. If you do, we won't be held liable.

Jiang Wenwan was amused by his words.

"What are you saying, Master Zhang? I'm not that kind of person. I just want to use this thing to fight the flying dragon."

Master Zhang took a bite of the tiger dish in front of him.

Although it's called "Tiger Vegetables," it doesn't contain any tiger meat; it's just a cold dish made with cabbage.

I became interested when she said she wanted to fight a flying dragon.

"You want to fight a flying dragon too?"

Jiang Wenwan smiled and poured the other person a glass of wine.

"Does Master Zhang also have this idea?"

Master Zhang picked up the wine she poured for him and took a sip.

"Don't be fooled by the fact that the flying dragon is about the same size as a pheasant; it's really tough to fight!"

That thing is alert; it runs away as soon as it sees people.

Normally, it sits on the tree and blends in with the color of the bark; it runs even faster if it's down below!

Are pheasants pretty fast runners?

When the flying dragon runs, pheasants have no chance at all. I'm not exaggerating. You can hardly find it even under normal circumstances.

Those all require years of experience; otherwise, it's all for nothing.

Otherwise, you might think this pheasant is the same size as a pheasant, so why is it worth four yuan a pound while a pheasant is only one yuan a pound?

Jiang Wenwan nodded. Thinking about it, it might not be that she hadn't encountered Feilong these days, but rather that she had encountered him but hadn't recognized him.

"Looks like it won't be easy to beat them after all. Hehe, let's get down to business!"

Here, I brought you cash.

As she spoke, she glanced around and saw that there were hardly any people in the state-run restaurant. Zhang Sanye raised his hand and gestured for them to be quieter.

"Not here, let's go somewhere else."

"Mr. Zhang, are you looking down on our state-run restaurant?"

There are private rooms inside; you can go in and check it out yourself.

Sister Liu walked up to Master Zhang's table and spoke.

Finally, he added:

"Don't scare this young educated youth away from doing business with you for the first time."

Jiang Wenwan knew that Sister Liu meant well, but what if she followed Master Zhang and he was after her money and wanted to kill her?

"Yes, Master Zhang, I'm a complete stranger in this place, and I'm quite timid."

Master Zhang laughed heartily.

"Are female educated youths who dare to buy guns timid?"

"I've never seen anyone this bold before. Okay, this is the room. Let's go in and check the goods."

The two went to a private room together.

Master Zhang took out the hunting rifle from inside. This rifle was similar to the Type 56 semi-automatic rifle, so it was probably a copy.

In her previous life as a mercenary, Jiang Wenwan had handled weapons that were better than this, and even any random weapon she picked from her armory was superior to this.

However, this has a strong contemporary feel to it.

Only one word came to her mind: paying tribute to the martyrs.

Oh my god, she was getting all sentimental over a gun, so she quickly picked it up and examined it closely.

It would be even better if we could fire a shot to check outside, but unfortunately, that's not possible here.

"I told you to come with me earlier because I wanted to find a place for you to fire a couple of shots and see what you're capable of."

But don't worry, this thing is definitely not new, but it's absolutely good.

I brought you fifty bullets. Do you think that's enough?

If you need more, you can buy more from me. Do you know where I live?

Speaking of this, Jiang Wenwan really didn't know.

Seeing her shake her head, Master Zhang looked at her in surprise.

"You don't know who I am or where I live, yet you dare to buy guns from me? You're really reckless."

"I'm the forest ranger captain at Xiatangzi, the 38th Brigade. If you run out of bullets, just come find me."

"Alright! Here are four hundred 'Great Reunions,' you can count them. As for the bullets, how do we calculate that?"

"I'll give them to you this time, they'll be two yuan each next time!"

Jiang Wenwan clicked her tongue.

"If I can't even break even by hunting wild chickens, then I'm sure I won't be able to make a profit?"

"Hahaha, why use a sledgehammer to crack a nut! Hahaha, if you just want to hunt pheasants, just get two slingshots and shoot them all."

"Oh dear, Jiang Zhiqing, you're really making a fool of yourself."

Jiang Wenwan smiled, picked up the gun license, glanced at it, and then looked at Master Zhang.

Master Zhang took a pen out of his pocket and asked her.

"I'll fill in your name."

Actually, guns aren't banned here. Almost half the families in a village have them, all of them were people who fought in the war before.

This thing is pretty useless!

However, I know that you educated youth all like to have some kind of evidence, a written agreement.

"Jiang Wenwan!"

"Okay, write it down for me and let me see how to write it."

Jiang Wenwan wrote her name on the table, and Zhang Sanye filled it in for her.

Having done all that, the two happily completed the deal.

Putting away her hunting rifle, she glanced at Master Zhang and asked:

How is your nephew Li Biao? Is it serious?

"Not bad! Hey. You're also from the 18th Brigade, do you know that Liu Guanjun?"

"How could someone from the same educated youth settlement not recognize each other?"

Master Zhang looked her over suspiciously.

"You're not trying to plead for him, are you?"

“Look at what you’re saying, old man. I don’t know him well. I’ve only been here for a month or so. Why should I plead for him?”

I was just asking out of curiosity.

Hearing her say that, Master Zhang breathed a sigh of relief.

"Li Biao is still in the hospital!"

That guy had his eye on my nephew's wife; he deserved whatever fate befell him.

Jiang Wenwan nodded, deeply agreeing.

"Yes, it's wrong to covet other people's things, and it's even more wrong to try and take advantage of them. Alright, I've gotten such a good thing today, so I'll head back now."
