Chapter 110 A Couple Working Together to Build a New Stove by Hand (2/2)

Qin Ye, the commanding and authoritative leader on the training field, has now completely transformed into a serious craftsman.

The tools left in the factory were pitifully rudimentary. The two found a large iron hammer, several chisels, and an old-fashioned hand drill. Fortunately, they also found an old-fashioned generator and welding machine.

If Su Tang hadn't exchanged some handy tools from her spatial storage, cutting the iron plate would have required chipping it away bit by bit with a chisel.

"Clang! Clang! Clang!"

The dull thud echoed in the empty factory. Qin Ye swung the sledgehammer and brought it down hard on the chisel, sparks flying. Soon, his hands were numb from the impact, covered in black machine oil and rust, but he didn't even flinch.

Su Tang stood to the side, holding a piece of chalk, drawing precise lines on the iron plate.

"Qin Ye, this piece needs to be cut into 30-centimeter by 40-centimeter pieces."

"This corner needs to be rounded off, otherwise the flue gas won't flow smoothly."

"Note that the drilling position must not be off-center, as this is related to the intake efficiency of the secondary combustion chamber."

He kept muttering words like "heat convection," "flue gas recirculation," and "heat exchange efficiency."

The most difficult part is making the core "circulation sandwich" and "secondary combustion chamber", which have complex structures and numerous welding points.

Su Tang used chalk to mark the areas that needed welding, patiently guiding Qin Ye.

"Look, this corner needs to be spot-welded in place first, and then pulled over from this side at a constant speed..."

Her voice was clear and cool, carrying a convincing professionalism and composure.

Holding a simple welding torch, Qin Ye, with his exceptional comprehension, could complete the task quickly and accurately with just a little guidance from Su Tang.

Manufacturing workers engage in such arduous labor, but through the tacit cooperation of the two, it becomes a unique experience.

Su Tang would occasionally take out warm spiritual spring water from her spatial storage and offer it to Qin Ye's lips: "Drink some water and rest for a bit."

During breaks, Qin Ye would tuck her icy little hands into his burning hot chest, warming them with the warmth of his body.

After a day and a night of hard work, when the last screw was tightened, a strangely shaped "iron lump" that was several times taller and more complex than an ordinary furnace finally took shape in front of the two of them.

Qin Ye was so exhausted that he could barely straighten his back. His face, hands, and clothes were covered in oil stains, making him look like a mud monkey that had just crawled out of a coal pile, but he had a satisfied smile on his face.

Looking at this "creation" he and his wife had created together, he was filled with an indescribable sense of accomplishment.

When the two drove their jeep back to the Qin family's courtyard, it immediately attracted the attention of many neighbors.

"Oh my, what is this thing? It's so weird."

"Where did Commander Qin haul this scrap metal from?"

Li Xiumei also rushed over upon hearing the noise. Looking at the dark, metal lump, she asked worriedly, "Tangtang, what... are you doing?"

Su Tang helped Qin Ye unload the stove: "This is a heater that we had made at the factory."

Wang Cuicui, who had come to join the fun, was punished by being made to clean toilets for a month. Still harboring resentment, she spoke up in a strange voice:

"I say, these young people just love to have wild ideas. This thing is better than the stove passed down from our ancestors? Don't let it set the house on fire!"
