The sky outside the window was still in a color between deep blue and pale white.
Su Tang woke up with a series of subtle, tingling sensations.
She moved, feeling as if she had been repeatedly run over by a road roller; not a single bone in her body felt truly her own. Her lower back, in particular, ached so badly it felt like it was about to break.
The bedding beneath him was brand new; the silky dragon and phoenix brocade quilt was soft to the touch, carrying a mixed scent of sunshine and soapberry. In the air, there was still a faint, lingering scent of Qin Ye's unique, cool, and domineering masculine hormones, a scent unique to him after the passionate night.
Scenes kept flooding into my mind uncontrollably.
That man who was decisive and ruthless on the battlefield, and whose palms sweated with nervousness in the auditorium.
Once on the wedding bed, he was like a beast unleashed, powerful, fiery, and with a predatory intent.
Yet, in the intervals between each thrust, he would soothe her with the gentlest kisses, repeatedly calling her name in his hoarse voice in her ear.
"Tangtang..."
"My...wife..."
Su Tang's face instantly flushed, the heat spreading from her cheeks to her ears.
What an insatiable fellow.
Instinctively, she reached to her side.
But where my fingertips touched, there was only a cold emptiness.
He's not in now.
Su Tang instantly woke up halfway through her sleepiness.
She opened her eyes, turned her head, and looked at the empty space beside her. The bed was even cold, indicating that the person had been gone for a long time.
She almost forgot that it was still dark around four in the morning.
The guard named Xiao Li knocked on the door of the courtyard.
Qin Ye jumped out of bed almost immediately, moving as fast as a cheetah.
He didn't turn on the lights, but quickly dressed himself by the faint moonlight coming through the window.
Before leaving, he bent down and placed a burning kiss on her forehead, the movement as light as a feather, his voice extremely low, filled with deep reluctance and apology.
"Honey, there's an urgent matter at the army base, I have to go. You get some sleep, I'll be back soon."
I was so tired from all the tossing and turning that I could barely keep my eyes open. I just mumbled a soft "uh," turned over, and fell back into a deep sleep.
Su Tang frowned.
Being urgently summoned in the early hours of the first day of a new marriage suggests a high-level mission. Was there another border skirmish? Or some major emergency?
However, having chosen to become a military dependent, she had long anticipated this situation and knew that Qin Ye would frequently have such unexpected missions in the future.
