Chapter 134 Where Did This Rival Come From? (1/2)

A tall figure slowly emerged from the shadows of the shelter.

The flickering campfire illuminated the handsome face of the man who was walking towards them.

He wore an impeccably tailored black shirt and silver-rimmed glasses, a faint smile playing on his lips, his eyes gentle yet unfathomable.

"Long time no see, Tangtang." He spoke softly, his voice gentle and warm, carrying a familiar intimacy that ran deep in his bones.

Almost instinctively, Qin Ye took a step forward, blocking the newcomer's view.

He looked warily at the man in front of him, who appeared refined but exuded a dangerous aura.

When Su Tang saw the person who came, her heart skipped a beat, but she wasn't too surprised.

She guessed it; it was that familiar sound in her mind, the perfectly timed explosion of the cruise ship.

Only he, Jiang Xubai, could pull off such a feat.

Jiang Xubai's gaze fell on Qin Ye's wary and hostile eyes. After a few seconds of eye contact, his almond-shaped eyes behind his glasses narrowed slightly.

Then, his gaze moved past Qin Ye's shoulder and landed back on Su Tang's face, her gentle smile unchanged:

"It seems you did quite well in that era."

Upon hearing this, Su Tang's heart sank.

How did he know... that she had time-traveled?

At this moment, doubts began to arise in her mind.

"Who are you?" Qin Ye's voice was so deep it could freeze.

Qin Ye sized up the man in front of him. He didn't exude any murderous aura, but Qin Ye sensed an unprecedented threat from him.

Especially the way he looked at Su Tang, that familiarity and intimacy, inexplicably ignited a nameless fire in Qin Ye's heart.

"Who I am is not important," Jiang Xubai pushed up his glasses, his tone relaxed as if he were chatting casually. "What is important is that I caused the cruise ship explosion and helped you draw away your pursuers."

Jiang Xubai's gaze remained fixed on Su Tang. He completely ignored Qin Ye and extended an invitation to Su Tang: "Is it convenient? Let's catch up alone."

"inconvenient."

Qin Ye refused without even thinking.

Are you kidding me? Alone? Catching up with old friends? Taking his wife away to catch up with old friends right in front of him?

Qin Ye's anger surged, and he even began to calculate how many seconds it would take to knock this pretty boy unconscious.

Su Tang felt Qin Ye's taut muscles in front of her and sighed helplessly in her heart.

She reached out and gently tugged at Qin Ye's sleeve from behind.

“Qin Ye,” she looked up at his furrowed brows and softened her voice, “he is… an old friend of mine. There are some things I need to ask him about. Can you wait here for me for a moment?”

He pursed his lips, his jawline clenched tightly, and remained silent, but his attitude was clear: he disagreed.

“He meant no harm,” Su Tang added. “Trust me, after I’ve dealt with things here, I’ll tell you everything, okay?”

Her warm breath brushed against his ear, causing Qin Ye's stiff body to relax slightly.

He looked down and met Su Tang's clear, pleading eyes. His anger was instantly extinguished by half, but the feeling of suffocation and unease only intensified.

"I'll go with you," Qin Ye said in a deep voice; this was his bottom line.

“There are some things he won’t say to your face,” Su Tang explained patiently. “Don’t worry, I’m right over there, within your sight.”

Qin Ye fell silent. He looked at Jiang Xubai's calm and collected face, wishing he could poke two holes in it with his eyes.

Finally, under Su Tang's pleading gaze, he nodded with difficulty, but squeezed out a few words through gritted teeth: "Ten minutes."

"Okay." Su Tang breathed a sigh of relief, patted his shoulder reassuringly, and then turned to walk towards Jiang Xubai.
