Chapter 134 Where Did This Rival Come From? (2/2)

Seeing that he didn't move, still standing there like a door god.

Helpless, Su Tang could only gently push his arm: "Go wait for me over there, it'll be quick."

Qin Ye reluctantly moved his feet and walked to a coconut tree a dozen meters away.

He didn't sit down, but leaned against the tree trunk with his arms crossed, his eyes fixed on the two people on the beach, exuding an aura of "I'm very unhappy".

Su Tang and Jiang Xubai walked side by side to the beach, where the waves gently lapped against the sand.

Qin Ye stood at a distance, watching them.

He watched as the man surnamed Jiang tilted his head slightly, seemingly talking to Su Tang. The sea breeze ruffled Su Tang's hair, a few strands playfully brushing against the man's shoulder.

Qin Ye's face darkened even more.

He kicked the sand on the ground in frustration, then picked up a half-meter-long piece of driftwood, gripped both ends with his hands, his knuckles turning white from the force.

"Snap—"

With a crisp crack, he snapped the sturdy driftwood in two.

He didn't like this feeling. He really didn't like it.

...

seaside.

A salty sea breeze blew in, carrying a hint of coolness.

Su Tang did not laugh; she simply turned her head away from Jiang Xubai's probing gaze.

"Why are you here?" Su Tang asked bluntly.

Jiang Xubai looked down at his trouser legs, which were wet from the waves, and slowly raised his hand, pointing to the finger on which Su Tang was wearing a ring:

"Of course it's because of it. Don't forget, I invented this ring."

Jiang Xubai added, "Every spatial jump and every energy fluctuation it makes leaves a coordinate on my terminal. Although the signal is very weak, it's enough for me to find you."

Su Tang fell silent.

After a long silence, she hesitated, then asked, "So... what do you mean by 'I was in that era'?"

Jiang Xubai stopped and turned around to face her. The sea breeze ruffled the stray hairs on his forehead.

"You seem to be in a hurry to ask questions. It's been so long since we last met, haven't you thought about showing any concern for me, huh? Tangtang?"

He deliberately dragged out the last syllable, conveying an inexplicable sense of intimacy.

Su Tang looked back at him expressionlessly: "Is now the time for reminiscing?"

"How cold-blooded and ruthless." Jiang Xubai raised the corners of his lips slightly, seemingly not angry at all. "Still the same as before, like a cat covered in thorns."

"Who were those pursuers just now?" Su Tang didn't want to beat around the bush with him anymore. "The security forces of the Noah's Ark couldn't possibly triple in such a short time, and their tactical coordination was so professional; that's the style of the military."

"You know that," Jiang Xubai began speaking in riddles again.

"I'm not in the mood for riddles anymore, stop trying to fool me." Su Tang's patience was almost exhausted.

Although she already had the answer in her heart, she needed to get the final confirmation from Jiang Xubai.

Jiang Xubai's smile finally faded somewhat. He looked at the man in the distance who had broken the piece of wood and sighed softly.

"Who else but me could locate you using the ring's underlying code? Of course, it's... our most beloved Commander Lei Zhen."

Lei Zhen!

Su Tang clenched her fists instantly. Even though she had expected it, her body still trembled slightly when the name was spoken.

"So..." her voice was dry and hoarse, "the sacrifice of our squad back then was not an accident... but a premeditated... purge."

“I’m glad you’re still alive, Tangtang. It’s so easy to chat with smart people.” Jiang Xubai regained his gentle and refined demeanor. “But this is a long story. I didn’t come to see you today to waste time on such old matters.”
