Chapter 359 There are still people here? This is going to be interesting (2/2)

But that would cause too much of a commotion, and the subsequent troubles would be endless.

At this critical moment, the commotion in the bushes drew the attention of the patrol team, buying them valuable time.

Just as everyone's attention was drawn to the bushes, Qin Ye made his move.

He didn't make a sound, but simply tapped Su Tang's waist twice with his fingers—this was the agreed-upon signal for retreat.

Su Tang understood immediately.

Qin Ye held her close, like a cheetah blending into the night, their bodies pressed against the shadow of the reclining ox stone, silently sliding backward. Their movements were so light that not a single leaf was disturbed, not a sound was made.

Almost at the same time the patrol team left, Qin Ye had already led Su Tang back more than ten meters and completely disappeared into another, deeper darkness.

After the two of them stealthily made their way around in a big circle and confirmed that it was completely safe, Qin Ye finally stopped at the entrance of an abandoned air-raid shelter.

This place is more secluded and safer than behind the reclining ox rock we just saw.

The crisis has been completely resolved.

Qin Ye breathed a sigh of relief and was about to let go of Su Tang.

Unexpectedly, Su Tang suddenly reached out and hugged his waist tightly, burying her face in his firm chest, which was still cool with the night breeze. Her shoulders trembled uncontrollably, and muffled laughter escaped her lips.

"Pfft... Hahaha..." She couldn't hold back anymore, laughing so hard she could barely breathe. "Instructor Qin, you're... you're famous throughout the whole camp now..."

She laughed as she mimicked the gossipy tone of the sentry Xiao Wang from earlier: "They all say you 'cherish talent,' and your eyes were so tender towards that female soldier named Su An... Oh dear, I can't take it anymore, my stomach hurts from laughing..."

Qin Ye's face turned completely black in the darkness. So black it looked like ink could drip from it.

His actions in the infirmary during the day were entirely out of instinctive concern and worry; he never imagined they would have such a big impact. Now, his wife was telling him about it as a joke, and the two sentries were exaggerating it. He felt his face burning with embarrassment and a surge of anger rising to his head.

He grabbed her delicate chin, forcing her to look up at him, and spat out a few words through gritted teeth, fiercely "warning": "Don't laugh!"

But the blush on his ears in the moonlight completely betrayed his inner embarrassment.

"Alright, alright, stop laughing, stop laughing." Su Tang knew when to stop. She knew that if she kept teasing him, he might really get angry and give her a "discipline" on the spot.

She broke free from his embrace and, by the dim light, moved her left arm, which was no longer in pain. Her skin was smooth as ever, glowing with a lustrous sheen in the moonlight, without even a trace of bruising.

"The medicine is really effective." She exclaimed sincerely, but in her heart she thought that the version with the added spiritual spring water was still the most effective.

Hearing her mention the injury on her arm, Qin Ye's attention was immediately diverted. The slight annoyance he had just felt vanished instantly, replaced by deep heartache and lingering fear.

He pulled her uninjured arm over, his tone as serious as if issuing a military order: "You're not allowed to get injured again."

He paused, his voice turning cold, "On the training field, no one will show you any mercy. That Zhang Kui has no sense of restraint. I'll find a chance to 'take care' of him."

Su Tang knew perfectly well that his so-called "care" was nothing short of a hellish, grueling training regimen.

“No need.” Su Tang shook her head. “I will avenge myself. I will show him what a real difference in strength is.”
