Chapter 360 Who exactly is the third person?

Chapter 360 Who exactly is the third person? When did Su Tang's people need someone else's help to settle scores?

What she wanted was to defeat her opponent in front of everyone, fair and square, by using her strength to make him kneel down and beg for mercy.

Qin Ye looked at her confident and powerful demeanor, her eyes shining astonishingly in the darkness, as if they were two handfuls of the brightest starlight. His Adam's apple bobbed uncontrollably, and the innate desire for conquest and possession deep within him was stirred by her dazzling yet dangerous appearance.

He wanted to hold this light in his hand, hide it, and only let him see it.

In the end, he suppressed the surging emotions in his heart, nodded, and said in a hoarse voice, "Okay. But take care of yourself."

He understood her; he knew that once she made up her mind, nothing could change it. All he could do was stand behind her and step in when she needed him.

Su Tang smiled and acquiesced to his compromise.

The two remained silent for a moment, the previous romantic and ambiguous atmosphere softened slightly by the brief seriousness. Su Tang's mind was still preoccupied with another matter.

“Speaking of which,” she shifted into a more comfortable position, almost nestled in his arms like a cat that had found a warm stove, “that person in the bushes just now…who do you think it was?”

Upon hearing this, Qin Ye's eyes instantly turned cold.

"Judging from the noise, there should only be one person." He analyzed calmly, his keen intuition as a top-notch reconnaissance soldier kicking in.

Su Tang nodded in agreement: "That's right, that person was very nervous, his heartbeat and breathing were all messed up."

Qin Ye's brows furrowed even more.

Alone, in the dead of night, sneaking off deep into the shooting range behind the mountain? This in itself is highly unusual.

"Do you think they might be targeting you?" Qin Ye's voice deepened, carrying a barely perceptible hint of murderous intent. He had to nip any potential threat to her in the bud.

"I don't know. Check the patrol report tomorrow and see if they've caught this person."

Both of them fell into deep thought, and a heavy atmosphere filled the air.

This incident, like a small thorn, pierced their hearts.

Time passed in silence, and the first crowing of a rooster could be faintly heard from the distant mountains and forests.

It's almost dawn.

"I should go back now." Su Tang stood up, brushing the dust and grass off her clothes. This sneaky date was really putting her heart to the test.

"I'll take you." Qin Ye also stood up, his tone leaving no room for argument.

The two once again disappeared into the deepest darkness before dawn.

They walked in silence, and Su Tang could feel Qin Ye holding her hand even tighter than before.

The near-death experience and the appearance of the mysterious third person cast a shadow over the two men. They both knew that this seemingly peaceful military camp was actually rife with undercurrents.

As they approached the familiar grove of trees near the female soldiers' dormitory, Qin Ye, who was walking ahead, suddenly stopped, turned around, and took her hand.

His palms were large and dry, with calluses from years of holding guns, and were surprisingly hot, tightly enveloping her slightly cool fingertips.

Su Tang looked up at him, puzzled.

He didn't say anything, but took out a small, square bag wrapped tightly in clean oilcloth from the innermost pocket of his training uniform and stuffed it into her hand.

The small bag was very light, yet it carried his burning body temperature, as if the heartbeat from his chest still lingered.

"What is this?" Su Tang asked curiously.

"Go back and look at it again." Qin Ye's voice was low, carrying a tone that left no room for refusal, and a hint of... barely perceptible awkwardness.

Su Tang weighed the object in her hand, her curiosity growing. What was this guy up to?

"Be careful during training tomorrow," Qin Ye reminded her again, his deep eyes fixed on her in the darkness, filled with an intense reluctance and worry, as if she were going to face a perilous journey rather than training.

"Understood, Instructor Qin..." Su Tang deliberately dragged out the last syllable, a sly smile playing on her lips, and squeezed his large hand tightly.

Watching her turn around, like the most nimble night cat, silently climb up to the second-floor window again, and using the windowsill and the protruding bricks on the wall as leverage, she flipped over and entered the dormitory building, disappearing into the darkness of the corridor, Qin Ye stood there for a long time.

He kept his head tilted back, staring at the window, until it was gently closed from the inside, and not a single ray of light could be seen. Only then did he slowly withdraw his gaze, turn around, and his tall figure blend into the last deep darkness of the night before dawn…
