Chapter 361 A Feast from Instructor Qin (1/2)

Chapter 361 Feeding from Instructor Qin Su Tang held her breath the whole way, her steps as light as a cat's, and silently followed the familiar route back to the door of her dormitory.

The corridor was quiet, with only the occasional muffled murmur in the distance and the rising and falling snoring sounds that were comparable to bellows.

The air was filled with a mixture of the smell of soap and the strong smell of bone-setting medicine, creating a peculiar odor unique to military barracks dormitories.

She gently turned the somewhat loose doorknob, pushed the door open just wide enough for one person to squeeze through, and was about to slip inside.

Just then—

"Squeak—"

Suddenly, the door to a dormitory across the street was pulled open from the inside.

The sound was particularly jarring in the deathly silent corridor.

Su Tang froze instantly, her entire body like a statue frozen in place, pressed tightly against the shadows behind the door, her heartbeat seemingly skipping a beat.

We've been discovered?

Her body instantly switched to combat mode, her brain racing, calculating how she needed to react within fractions of a second if the other side discovered her.

A slender figure walked out of the door.

The person seemed to have gotten up in the middle of the night. He rubbed his sleepy eyes, yawning, and walked unsteadily toward the public restroom at the end of the corridor.

Because of the dim light and her still-sleepy mind, the person didn't notice at all that there was another person hiding in the shadows behind the door diagonally opposite her.

Su Tang held her breath and remained motionless, completely concealing her presence in the darkness.

Only when the man's footsteps gradually faded into the distance and finally disappeared in the direction of the toilet did Su Tang slowly and silently exhale a breath of stale air.

That was close.

She was about to go inside and finally end this terrifying night.

But in the instant she turned to the side, her peripheral vision inadvertently caught a glimpse of the slightly ajar dormitory door from which someone had just emerged.

The wooden class sign hanging on the door, in the faint morning light filtering through the window, vaguely revealed a few words: Female Soldiers' Dormitory No. 2.

This is Bai Wei's dormitory.

Su Tang's gaze sharpened slightly.

She remembered the female soldier who got up in the middle of the night; she was a girl from the second squad who was usually inconspicuous and slept by the window.

The door that had been pushed open was still ajar, not fully closed.

Through the crack in the door, Su Tang could clearly see the scene behind the first bed.

That bed belongs to Bai Wei.

Su Tang has an excellent memory; she clearly remembers the distribution of beds in each dormitory.

At this moment, on Bai Wei's bed, the military green blanket was neatly bulging in the shape of a person, and the pillow was placed properly on top of the blanket, making it look as if someone was sleeping peacefully inside.

The outline of this "person" is too stiff; the undulating curves do not conform to the natural state of a sleeping body at all. In particular, the "shoulders" present an unnatural square protrusion. More importantly, there is no breathing.

Even from more than ten meters away, Su Tang could hear the breathing of the other people in the dormitory, whether light or heavy, but Bai Wei's bed was completely silent.

This is a way of creating the illusion that someone is sleeping in the bed using pillows and folded clothes.

A thought flashed through Su Tang's mind like lightning!

She immediately recalled the clumsy and panicked noise she had heard in the bushes behind the mountain more than half an hour earlier.

That mysterious "third person"...

Could it be her?

Su Tang's eyes suddenly sharpened in the darkness.

Instead of immediately going into her dormitory, she remained like the most patient hunter, quietly and motionless lurking in the shadows behind the door.

She is waiting.

She waited for the female soldier who had gone to the toilet to return, and also for a figure that might appear and be even more interesting to her.

Time passed by, second by second.

About two or three minutes later, the female soldier who had gotten up in the middle of the night returned, yawning. She groggily pushed open the door of the second squad, went in, and closed the door behind her.

With a soft "click," the door closed.

The corridor fell silent once more.

Su Tang remained motionless.

Her intuition told her that this wasn't over yet.

About five or six minutes later, just as the first hint of dawn was breaking on the horizon, a very faint, almost imperceptible sound came from outside the dormitory building.

Someone is climbing the drainpipe at the back of the dormitory building!
