Chapter 385 Little Girl, You've Lost Weight The mud pit combat training ended in a way that no one expected.
Bai Wei and Zhang Kui, one was filled with mud and water, and the other was pulled out like a radish, both becoming the biggest joke in the entire camp.
Su An, the slender female soldier who remained calm and collected throughout, once again became the focus of everyone's awe with her overwhelming wisdom.
Two days later.
The iron door to the solitary confinement cell creaked open, letting in blinding sunlight.
Wang Xiaoya subconsciously raised her hand to cover her eyes. After two days without seeing the sun, her face was as pale as a sheet of paper, and she had visibly lost weight. Her once chubby cheeks had sunken in.
Female instructor Zhang Ruobing stood at the door, backlit, her figure appearing exceptionally cold.
"Come out."
Wang Xiaoya trembled, like a frightened deer, and timidly moved her stiff steps out of the confinement room.
"Instructor...I..."
“Instructor Qin believes there are still doubts in your case. Your confinement is temporarily lifted, and you can return to training.” Zhang Ruobing’s tone was devoid of warmth, and her gaze towards Wang Xiaoya remained scrutinizing. “However, the investigation is not over. Remember, it’s ‘temporarily’. We will continue to investigate the source of the food, and what your relationship is with the person who appeared on the back mountain that night. Be prepared to be summoned at any time.”
Every word was like a needle, pricking Wang Xiaoya's already fragile nerves.
Her face turned even paler, her lips trembled, but she couldn't utter a single word; she could only nod frantically.
She didn't know how she got back to the dormitory area. Her mind was a blur, filled with Zhang Ruobing's cold face and the harsh interrogation she had endured.
Who gave you the food?
"Did you go to the back mountain to meet someone?"
Was that you who climbed out the window?
Who are your accomplices?
She said nothing, gritting her teeth and keeping Su An's name buried deep inside. She only knew that as long as she didn't admit it, no one could do anything to her.
But she was really scared.
She was afraid that if she said something wrong, it would harm Sister Su An.
In a daze, she saw a familiar figure in front of the dormitory building.
Sister Su An stood there quietly, leaning against the wall, as if she had been waiting for a long time.
The moment Wang Xiaoya saw her, all the fear, grievances, and helplessness that had accumulated over the past two days instantly overwhelmed her rationality.
Her eyes instantly reddened, and tears streamed down her face like broken beads.
“Sister Su… Sister Su An…”
She choked back tears, like a fledgling bird that had finally found its nest, and stumbled and flew over.
Su Tang reached out and caught her steadily.
Without asking any further questions or blaming her, Su Tang simply reached out and gently hugged her trembling body.
The hug was light, yet it carried a reassuring power.
Su Tang could clearly feel that the little girl in her arms was so thin that she was just skin and bones. Underneath the thin training uniform, the bones in her shoulders were digging into her hands and causing pain.
"It's alright now." Su Tang's voice was gentle as she patted Wang Xiaoya's back lightly. "It's good that you're back."
"Waaah... Sister Su An... I'm so scared..." Wang Xiaoya buried her face in Su Tang's shoulder and burst into tears. "They kept asking me... asking me where the chocolate came from... and asking me about the back mountain... I didn't say anything... I really didn't say anything..."
“I know,” Su Tang said. “You did a great job, little girl. You’re a brave child.”
The word "brave" made Wang Xiaoya cry even harder.
She wasn't brave; she was terrified. If it weren't for Sister Su An, she probably wouldn't have been able to hold on.
Not far away, Chen Xiaocao and Liu Landi also rushed over upon hearing the news. Seeing Wang Xiaoya's condition, they were both heartbroken.
