"Little girl, you're finally back!"
"Don't cry, everything will be alright once you're back!"
The three girls huddled together, laughing and crying at the same time.
Beyond this heartwarming scene, from the window on the second floor of the cafeteria, a venomous gaze was fixed intently on everything.
Bai Wei changed into a clean training uniform, but the humiliation of being covered in mud was etched into her bones like a brand.
These past two days, wherever she went, she could feel faint whispers and suppressed giggles behind her back.
"Look, isn't this Sister Bai Wei, who drank a bellyful of mud from the mud pit?"
"Serves her right, who told her to be so arrogant before."
These voices were like countless needles, piercing her body and leaving her completely wounded.
She hates it!
She hated those fools who mocked her! She hated even more the culprit who made her a laughingstock—Su An!
On what grounds?
Why should that country bumpkin be allowed to trample on her head again and again?
Why is it that she can be admired and trusted by everyone, while I can only be publicly executed like a clown?
A head-on confrontation?
Bai Wei's fingernails dug deeply into the wood of the windowsill.
She tried it.
Whether in assessments or training, she suffered a crushing defeat.
If hard tactics don't work, then try softer ones.
Bai Wei's gaze slowly shifted from Su An to Wang Xiaoya, who was crying uncontrollably in her arms.
A cold and eerie smile curved her lips.
...
The cafeteria was bustling with activity at dinner time.
After receiving her meal, Su Tang specifically asked for an extra dark-colored steamed bun.
She carried her tray and went straight to sit down next to Wang Xiaoya.
Wang Xiaoya's emotions had calmed down considerably, but her eyes were still red, making her look like a rabbit. Seeing Su Tang, she lowered her head somewhat shyly.
"Sister Su An..."
Su Tang didn't say anything, but simply put the big, solid black steamed bun from her plate into Wang Xiaoya's bowl.
"Eat up, you've lost weight."
Five simple words are more effective than any words of comfort.
Wang Xiaoya's eyes welled up again. She nodded vigorously, picked up the steamed bun, and nibbled on it in small bites, as if it were the most delicious thing in the world.
Chen Xiaocao and Liu Landi also came over, chattering to Wang Xiaoya about the interesting things that had happened during the training these past two days, trying their best to cheer her up.
"Little girl, you don't know, while you were away, we teamed up with Sister Su An and won again!"
"That Bai Wei has been completely subdued by Sister Su An. Seeing her pathetic state will surely make you feel better!"
Su Tang ate her meal quietly, listening to their laughter and chatter, but her eyes inadvertently swept across another corner of the cafeteria.
Bai Wei was sitting there alone, head down, silently picking at the rice in her bowl. She looked quiet and timid, completely lacking her usual arrogance.
Noticing Su Tang's gaze, she seemed startled, her body shrank back, and she quickly lowered her head, not daring to meet her eyes.
"Hmph, she's smart enough to know her place." Liu Landi noticed it too, and curled her lip in disdain. "If she dares to cause trouble again, Sister Su An will teach her a lesson!"
