Chapter 39 My First Dinner at the Qin Family House (1/2)

Su Tang nodded:

"Yes, Dean He, I come from Shanghai."

"From Shanghai...surname Su...name Su Tang..."

Dean He kept repeating these words to himself.

A blurry image in my mind gradually became clearer.

Her heart skipped a beat, and a daring idea surged into her mind!

She asked tentatively, her voice trembling slightly, "Then...then your mother...is her name...Lin Wanyi?"

Su Tang's heart skipped a beat!

How did Dean He know her mother's name?

She remained outwardly calm, only giving a soft "hmm": "Does Dean He recognize my mother?"

"More than just recognizing them!"

Upon hearing Su Tang's admission, Dean He's voice trembled with excitement.

She stepped forward and grabbed Su Tang's hand.

"Wanyi...she was my best friend when I was young! Back in Shanghai, we were inseparable confidantes! We were like sisters! It's such a pity...she died so young."

Dean He looked Su Tang up and down, his eyes filled with surprise and affection, and the more he looked at her, the more affectionate she seemed.

"So, you are... Wanyi's daughter, Su Tang?! Oh my! My dear child! It really is you!"

"I should have known! She's so beautiful, she's a spitting image of your mother when she was young!"

Dean He held Su Tang's hand, so excited that he was almost incoherent.

She suddenly remembered something and slapped her thigh:

"Oh dear! How could I be so foolish! I am Qin Ye's mother, He Shumin! How could you come to Tibet without even telling your aunt beforehand?"

Su Tang was completely stunned!

Qin Ye's mother? He Shumin?

She never expected that the person in front of her was so kind and skilled in medicine.

The Dean He who had just been praising her so highly was actually the mother of her fiancé Qin Ye, whom she had never met before!

Her future...mother-in-law?!

This world is far too small!

Su Tang was momentarily speechless, both amused and exasperated, and quickly explained:

“Aunt He, I…I sent a telegram to Qin Ye before, telling him that I would be coming to Tibet.”

Upon hearing this, Dean He's eyebrows immediately furrowed, and a reproachful expression appeared on her face. She began to scold her son, seemingly pointing to thin air:

"That brat Qin Ye! That blockhead! That block of wood!"

"Such a big thing, and he didn't mention a single word to me, his mother! Just wait until I get my hands on him!"

"His wife is coming all this way, and he didn't even tell the family! I'm so angry!"

Dean He became increasingly angry as she spoke, as if Qin Ye were standing right in front of her.

Su Tang listened to Dean He's warm greetings to Qin Ye and was speechless.

Qin Ye, Qin Ye, you've done an amazing job keeping this a secret!

Or is it that you don't take this fiancée seriously at all?

She quickly tried to smooth things over for Qin Ye, gently advising him:

“Aunt He, please don’t be angry. Maybe…maybe he’s busy with missions in the army and hasn’t had a chance to tell you yet.”

Dean He held Su Tang's hand tightly, but he couldn't let go.

The anger on her face was gradually replaced by joy and heartache.

She scrutinized Su Tang closely, growing to like her more and more, finding everything about the girl wonderful.

"Good child, such a good child! I'm so sorry you've been wronged!"
