Chapter 39 My First Time Dining at the Qin Family House (2/2)

Dean He's tone was full of tenderness as he held Su Tang's hand and inquired about her well-being.

"Quick, tell your auntie, was the journey tiring? Were you tired? Did that brat bully you?"

"Come on, let's not stay in this emergency room anymore. Let's go home with your aunt! Your aunt will cook you something delicious and give you a proper welcome home!"

As Dean He spoke, he was about to pull Su Tang away.

Upon seeing this, Xiao Fang, the guard who was originally standing guard at the door of Su Tang's ward, immediately stepped forward and tried to stop He Shumin.

"Dean He, this... the commander instructed that Comrade Su Tang cannot leave the ward for the time being." Xiao Fang said, forcing himself to speak, his heart pounding.

He Shumin raised an eyebrow and glared at him:

"Why can't I let her go? She's my future daughter-in-law! I can't even bring her home for a meal and let her get acquainted with the place?"

Her voice wasn't loud, but her energy made Xiao Fang sweat.

“The family compound is just over there at the intersection, just around the corner. If you’re worried about losing people, you can come with us!” He Shumin added.

Xiao Fang: "..."

What could he do?

This is Commander Qin's biological mother, Director He of the military hospital!

Besides, they were talking about "future daughter-in-law," which is a huge amount of information; a mere bodyguard like him couldn't handle it.

In the end, Xiao Fang could only nod with a bitter face and resignedly follow behind He Shumin and Su Tang, acting as their temporary bodyguard.

He Shumin was in a great mood and held Su Tang's hand affectionately.

She completely ignored Xiao Fang, who was following behind her with a conflicted expression.

Along the way, she enthusiastically introduced the environment of the military compound to Su Tang.

"Tangtang, look at our compound. Even though the houses are a bit old, it's clean and tidy, and the neighbors get along very well, just like one big family."

"The security is impeccable; you don't even need to lock your door at night!"

Su Tang listened with a smile, occasionally responding with a few words, but inwardly she was a little overwhelmed by her future mother-in-law's enthusiasm.

This level of over-the-top friendliness is simply unbelievable.

Soon, the three of them arrived at a two-story building.

The small building looks quite old, with red brick walls and a style reminiscent of Soviet architecture; it is simple yet exceptionally clean.

Several hardy flowers and plants were planted in the yard, and although it was winter, they were well taken care of.

"Come on, Tangtang, this is your aunt's house, and it will be your house from now on. Don't be shy!" He Shumin said, pushing open the half-closed courtyard gate.

As soon as you enter the room, a faint aroma of herbs mixed with the scent of sunshine wafts over.

The furnishings inside were simple, yet the room exuded warmth.

The old-fashioned wooden furniture was polished to a shine, and the sofa was covered with a cotton cover with a floral pattern.

Several calligraphy and paintings also hang on the wall, which look quite elegant.

He Shumin busied herself, first pouring Su Tang a steaming cup of malted milk powder.

Then he took out a few butterfly cookies, which were specially supplied to Shanghai, from a tin biscuit box.

"Tangtang, try this. This is something your Uncle Qin specially asked someone to bring back from Shanghai. Do you like sweets?"

He Shumin kept praising Su Tang:

"Oh my, our Tangtang is so capable and beautiful, she looks exactly like your mother when she was young!"

Su Tang held the warm malted milk powder in her hands, taking small sips, feeling a warm glow in her heart.

She handled the situation with grace and composure, always maintaining a gentle smile.

Secretly, she was also observing the furnishings of the Qin family home.

Those seemingly ordinary objects, like the old-fashioned radio in the corner.

The books on one wall of bookshelves, and the carved bronze ink bottle on the windowsill.

Everything about this family reflects their refined taste and the owner's sophisticated background.

It seems that the Qin family's background is even more impressive than she had imagined.

That makes sense, after all, the Qin family and the Su family are old friends, so they can't be that different.
