Chapter 4 begins by setting traps for the mother and daughter (2/2)

She should just take the initiative and tell them that she's willing to marry Qin Ye.

This will not only lull them into a false sense of security and lower their guard, but also...

This would also buy him time to transfer his assets and take revenge on the mother and daughter.

Most importantly, she wanted to set a trap to make the Jiang mother and daughter return all the assets they had embezzled from the Su family over the years and hidden in the bank.

However, if violence is used directly, the assets they have secretly transferred will never see the light of day again.

Having made up her mind, Su Tang composed herself, put on the expression often seen on the original owner of the body, and walked out of the room.

In the living room, Jiang Sushuang and Jiang Xinyue were huddled together, whispering something. When they saw Su Tang come out, they were both taken aback.

Jiang Xinyue: "Oh dear, sister, why are you up again? Are you feeling unwell? Tell your sister quickly."

Jiang Sushuang: "Tangtang, why don't you lie down a little longer? You're such a worry."

Su Tang looked at their hypocritical faces, inwardly sneering, but outwardly feigning tears:

"Mom, it's Xinyue..."

She paused, as if making a great decision, before raising her head and looking at them with empty eyes:

“I’ve thought about it for a long time… Father is gone, and it’s meaningless for me to stay here alone…”

Jiang Sushuang and Jiang Xinyue exchanged a puzzled glance.

"Sister, what do you want to say?" Jiang Xinyue asked, feigning concern as she took Su Tang's hand.

Su Tang sniffed, her eyes red-rimmed.

“I think… I’ve thought it through. I accept the marriage arranged with the Qin family. I’ll go to Tibet and marry Qin Ye.”

"What?!" Jiang Sushuang almost thought she had misheard, and her voice rose several decibels.

"Tangtang, are you... are you serious? You really want to marry Qin Ye?"

Her face was filled with undisguised elation, but a hint of doubt lingered deep in her eyes.

Su Tang was so desperate about this marriage before, how come she suddenly changed her mind?

Could it be that her father died and the shock was too great, causing her to lose her mind?

Jiang Xinyue's eyes widened in disbelief, but she was secretly delighted.

Great! This stumbling block has finally gotten rid of itself!

"Sister, have you thought this through? I've heard that life in Tibet is very tough!" Jiang Xinyue said, feigning concern.

Su Tang smiled sadly and nodded:

“I’ve thought it through. This marriage was what my father valued most when he was alive. Now that he’s gone, I have to fulfill his wish. Besides… there’s nothing left in Shanghai for me to miss.”

She lowered her head, her shoulders trembling slightly, as if trying to suppress her grief:

"But... Mom, I am, after all, a daughter of the Su family. It would be too inappropriate for me to leave like this. Father wouldn't be at peace if he knew this in the afterlife."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Sushuang's heart skipped a beat, and she became wary.

"Tangtang, what do you mean by that?" Does this little vixen want to squeeze money out of her?

Su Tang raised her head, her eyes brimming with tears, and looked at Jiang Sushuang:

"Mom, I don't ask for anything else. I only ask that you prepare a decent dowry for me, considering the long-standing friendship between Father and the Qin family. It doesn't have to be much, just enough to allow me to hold my head high in the Qin family. Otherwise, people will say that our Su family can't even afford a respectable dowry, wouldn't that make us a laughingstock?"
