Chapter 68 The aroma of roasted rabbit fills the air! It makes Commander Qin next door drool! (2/2)

"I'll add the seasoning!" she volunteered.

The two worked in perfect harmony, one flipping the food and the other sprinkling it.

Soon, the aroma of roasted rabbit meat filled the forest, making people's mouths water.

The rabbit meat was roasted until crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, sizzling with oil.

Su Tang tore off a rabbit leg and handed it to Qin Ye first: "Chef Qin, thank you for your hard work. Please have a taste."

Qin Ye took the rabbit leg, took a big bite, and squinted his eyes in satisfaction: "Mmm, delicious! Honey, your seasoning is amazing!"

Su Tang also tore off a piece and ate it herself; it was indeed incredibly delicious.

The meat is exceptional, and with the special seasonings provided by the space, it's simply divine.

After eating and drinking her fill, Su Tang let out a satisfied burp.

She then took out a few milk candies wrapped in candy wrappers from her backpack, which Qin Ye had specially prepared for her.

She peeled one open and popped it into her mouth; the sweet taste melted on her tongue.

Then she peeled another one and held it to Qin Ye's lips: "Open your mouth."

Qin Ye was stunned for a moment, then opened his mouth somewhat awkwardly.

Su Tang stuffed the milk candy inside.

He sucked on the candy, savoring its rich milky aroma, then looked into Su Tang's smiling eyes.

He wanted to kiss her again.

He felt that this sugar was sweeter than anything he had ever eaten.

Her eyes were so gentle they were almost dripping with tenderness.

It's late at night.

The forest was completely silent, save for the crackling of the campfire and the occasional chirping of insects in the distance.

The two sat side by side by the fire, both wearing thick military overcoats.

Qin Ye told Su Tang some interesting stories from his time in the army.

For example, the embarrassing moments of the new recruits during their first field training exercise; Old Wang, the head cook, who had the unique skill of turning pig feed into a Manchu Han Imperial Feast; and Zhang Qianli, the famous "sharpshooter" in their regiment, who could hit the bullseye with his eyes closed when shooting at targets.

Su Tang nestled against Qin Ye's broad shoulders, listening to his deep and magnetic voice, and feeling the warmth emanating from him.

She never imagined that one day she would be living such a simple yet warm life with such a man in such a primeval forest.

A sense of peace settled over me, as if all the weariness and past troubles had dissipated in the flickering campfire and the warmth of the people around me.

Just as Su Tang was dozing off, almost falling asleep leaning against Qin Ye—

"Awooo—!"

A deep and long roar suddenly came from the depths of the forest!

The voice was filled with wild power and a hint of...hunger.

The campfire seemed startled, leaping upwards suddenly and scattering sparks everywhere!

Qin Ye tensed up almost the instant the beast roared, his eyes suddenly becoming sharp as knives.

He pulled Su Tang behind him to protect her, while his other hand reached for the military knife at his waist.

"Don't be afraid!" he whispered to Su Tang, his voice tense and full of vigilance.

Su Tang's heart skipped a beat; that roar didn't sound like a rabbit or squirrel at all.

She outwardly cooperated by hiding behind Qin Ye, appearing somewhat nervous.

In fact, her mental energy was already highly concentrated, sensing the direction and distance from which the sound came.
