Chapter 311 I'll Be With You
Su Wantang returned to the courtyard; it was already dark.
The courtyard was lit up, and Lu Jingyan was standing at the door. As soon as he saw her, he strode over.
"Where did you go?"
His voice was low, but his eyes were fixed on her, as if he wanted to see right through her.
Su Wantang knew she couldn't hide it anymore.
She took a soft breath: "Let's talk inside."
The two returned to their room, and Wang Ma tactfully closed the door and stood guard outside.
Lu Jingyan stood by the window, his back to her, his shoulders tense.
Su Wantang sat on the edge of the bed, her hands on her knees, and slowly said, "Jingyan, there are some things I need to tell you."
Lu Jingyan turned around, his eyes frighteningly deep.
"explain."
Su Wantang took a deep breath: "When my mother was alive, she left behind a chamber of commerce called the Begonia Chamber of Commerce."
Lu Jingyan's eyelid twitched.
“This chamber of commerce has always been operating in the shadows, managing the business left by my mother,” Su Wantang continued. “Now the chamber of commerce is in trouble, someone has betrayed it, and wants to hand over my mother’s hard work to outsiders.”
Lu Jingyan was silent for a few seconds: "So?"
“So I have to go and see.” Su Wantang raised her head, her eyes calm. “I have to make a house call in three days to treat someone.”
Lu Jingyan's face instantly darkened.

His voice wasn't loud, but it was firm and left no room for negotiation.
“What kind of body do you have now? I will absolutely not allow you to take any risks.”
This was the first time since their marriage that Lu Jingyan had so forcefully opposed her.
Su Wantang didn't argue, but calmly looked at him: "Jingyan, this is the responsibility my mother left me, and I can't ignore it. Besides, I have confidence in myself."

The room was quiet, with only the sound of the wind outside the window.

Su Wantang stood up and walked up to him.
"I know."

Lu Jingyan closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
He knew she wasn't acting impulsively.
She has never been an impulsive person.
Every decision she makes is made after careful consideration.
He couldn't persuade her otherwise.
I can never win against them.
Lu Jingyan opened his eyes and reached out to hug her tightly.
"I can't go against you." His voice was low, carrying a sense of helpless compromise.
"But you must promise me that I will arrange everything, and I must stay with you the whole time, never leaving your side."
Su Wantang smiled in his arms.
She tiptoed and kissed him on the chin: "Okay."
Lu Jingyan hugged her even tighter.
"Wantang, if anything happens to you, I won't live either."
Su Wantang's nose felt a little sore.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face in the crook of his neck: "No, I promise you, I'll be fine."
Lu Jingyan kissed her forehead, then her eyes, the tip of her nose, and the corner of her mouth.

"Jingyan," Su Wantang looked up, "thank you."
"Silly girl," Lu Jingyan pinched her cheek, "Why are you thanking me?"
The next morning, Lu Jingyan went out early.
Su Wantang knew that he had made the arrangements.
Sure enough, Qin Zheng arrived in the afternoon.
"Miss, Commander Lu asked me to tell you that everything is arranged."

Lu Jingyan returned that evening.

"Wantang, everything is arranged." He sat down next to her.
"I'll drive you there the day after tomorrow afternoon. The entire compound is staffed with my men, disguised as a military security operation. You just focus on your medical treatment; leave the rest to me."
Su Wantang held his hand: "Jingyan, you are so good to me."
Lu Jingyan pressed her hand against his face: "If I'm not good to you, who will I be good to?"
He paused, then said, "When the time comes, change into men's clothing, wear a hat and a mask to cover your face. I don't want anyone to know your identity."
Su Wantang smiled: "Okay, I'll listen to you."
Lu Jingyan hugged her, resting his chin on the top of her head: "Wantang, do you know? In this life, I'm only afraid of two things."
Which two items?
"One is that something happens to you, and the other is that you leave me."
Su Wantang's eyes felt a little hot.
She hugged him tightly: "I'm not going anywhere, I'll stay right here with you."
Lu Jingyan whispered in her ear, "Then you have to keep your word."
"Yes, you promise."
The two hugged for a long time.
The baby in their belly moved slightly, as if reminding them not to forget him.

At 2 p.m., Su Wantang changed into a large men's trench coat.
Lu Jingyan personally helped her button up her clothes, his movements slow and meticulous.
"Don't be nervous," he said softly. "I'm here for you."
Su Wantang put on a hat and mask, leaving only her eyes visible.
Lu Jingyan looked at her, his eyes deep: "Let's go."
He took her hand and led her outside.
The car was parked at the entrance, and Lu Jingyan personally opened the door and helped her into the car.
After getting in the car, he fastened her seatbelt and checked it again.
“Jingyan,” Su Wantang said with a hint of helplessness, “I’m not a porcelain doll.”
“In my eyes, you are more precious than a porcelain doll.” Lu Jingyan said, then started the car.
The car drove very smoothly, and Lu Jingyan kept the speed under control, afraid of bumping her.
Su Wantang looked out the window, her heart filled with mixed feelings.
In her past life, she was all alone and sick for ten years, with no one caring for her or asking about her.
In this life, however, someone cherishes her dearly, wishing they could give her the whole world.
