Chapter 6 The Wicked Servant Deceives His Master, and Wang Ma's Loyalty

Chapter 6 The Wicked Servant Deceives His Master, and Wang Ma's Loyalty

Stepping out of the space, Su Wantang felt light all over, and even her breathing became easier.

The body, washed by the spiritual spring water, felt as if years of dust had been wiped away, and the world before my eyes became much clearer.

She pushed open the door and went downstairs.

Downstairs in the living room, those unpleasant people were nowhere to be seen, and a lingering, oppressive smell of gunpowder remained in the air.

The restaurant area was brightly lit.

Su Wantang strolled over. Usually, at this time, the table would already be full of exquisite dishes.

Today, the table was empty except for a bowl and chopsticks in her designated spot.

She pulled out a chair, sat down, and tapped her fingertips lightly on the smooth tabletop, tap, tap, tap.

Interesting, they can't wait that long.

A maid with a pointed mouth and monkey-like face came over carrying a tray, swaying her hips, and placed a rough porcelain bowl and a small dish of side dishes heavily in front of her.

"Miss, your dinner is ready."

The maid, Zhang Sao, was a trusted confidante brought by her stepmother, Liu Liyun, from her maiden home. She usually acted arrogantly in the Su family, and even Su Zhenhong gave her some face.

Su Wantang lowered her eyes.

In the bowl, there were a few grains of rice simmering in clear broth.

In the dish were a few wilted strips of pickled vegetables.

Is this the dinner that the Shanghai department store tycoon prepared for his daughter? If word got out, people would probably laugh their heads off.

Seeing that she didn't speak, Aunt Zhang grew bolder, crossed her arms, squinted at her, and spoke in a sarcastic tone:

"Oh dear, Miss, please make do with this. Things are different now. You've ruined yourself by driving away such a good son-in-law like the Lin family. The master is furious. Food is precious these days, we can't waste it."

She deliberately raised her voice, and several maids who were peeking in from the kitchen doorway covered their mouths and chuckled.

His eyes were full of disdain and schadenfreude, as if he were watching a good show.

Su Wantang didn't even raise an eyebrow.

She simply stared quietly at the bowl of rice porridge, so thick it was almost impossible not to see her reflection.

Even dogs wouldn't eat it.

She simply reached out and picked up the bowl of lukewarm rice porridge.

Under Aunt Zhang's smug gaze, he tilted his wrist.

Splash—

She poured the entire bowl of rice porridge, soup and all, onto the gleaming mahogany floor.

"Smack!"

The coarse porcelain bowl slipped from his hand, smashed on the ground, and shattered into several large pieces, making a crisp, jarring sound.

The entire restaurant fell into a deathly silence.

All the servants watching the play were so frightened that they shrank back and dared not breathe.

Su Wantang raised her head and stared coldly at Zhang Sao, whose face was deathly pale.

"My food," she said softly, but each word was as cold as ice, "you dare touch it?"

Aunt Zhang felt a chill run down her spine when she saw that look, and then a surge of anger welled up inside her.

How dare a disgraced young lady put on airs in front of her?

"You! Su Wantang! Don't push your luck!" Zhang Sao, relying on Liu Liyun's support, immediately put her hands on her hips.

"You think you're still the young lady you used to be? Let me tell you, in this house now, the madam is in charge! You're just a worthless piece of trash that nobody wants, and you still dare to smash bowls here! The master and madam are kind-hearted; they've given you a meal, and you're still ungrateful! You ingrate!"

The insults were shrill and unbearable to hear.

Instead of being angry, Su Wantang smiled and was about to speak.

"Aunt Zhang! How dare you!"

A sharp shout came from the direction of the kitchen.

A woman of about fifty years old, with gray hair and a slightly plump figure, rushed out quickly.

It's Wang Ma.

She was an elderly woman who had served the Su family since Su Wantang's birth mother was still alive.

Wang Ma shielded Su Wantang behind her, glaring at Zhang Sao, her chest heaving with anger: "You're just a servant! How dare you question your master's meals? Who gave you the audacity to speak to the young lady like that! Do you even respect the rules of the Su family?!"

"Rules?" Aunt Zhang seemed to have heard the biggest joke in the world. She crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. "Aunt Wang, are you getting senile? What era are we living in? You still talk about old rules? Madam Liu is the one in charge of the Su family now! I advise you to mind your own business and not take the wrong side, or you won't even know how you died!"

"You!" Wang Ma was so angry that she trembled all over.

"What do you mean, 'what about me'? You old codger, you really think you're something special!"

As Zhang Sao spoke, she reached out and pushed Wang Ma, saying, "Get out of my way!"

The two women immediately began to fight.

Wang Ma was getting old, and she was no match for Zhang Sao.

A wicked glint flashed in Zhang Sao's eyes. She grabbed Wang Ma's arm and shoved it violently toward the pile of broken bowls on the ground!

"ah!"

Wang Ma cried out in surprise, lost her balance, and fell over.

Her hand landed precisely on the sharpest shard of porcelain.

Sizzle—

A gash instantly split open, and bright red blood gushed out in a rush.

Su Wantang's gaze grew colder and colder.

court death.

Just as Zhang Sao was about to step forward and kick Wang Ma...

Su Wantang moved.

She didn't say a word, but turned around expressionlessly and walked to the tea cabinet next to the dining table.

He picked up the purple clay teapot filled with boiling water that had been prepared for Su Zhenhong.

Then, she turned around and strode over to Aunt Zhang.

Before Aunt Zhang could react, she raised her hand.

A whole pot of scalding hot tea was poured over that sharp-tongued and mean face!

"ah--!"

A heart-wrenching scream shattered the tranquility of the Su family mansion.

Aunt Zhang covered her face and collapsed to the ground like a slaughtered pig, rolling around frantically.

The air was filled with the smell of burnt flesh being scalded.

The restaurant was deathly silent.

The servants who had been watching the show turned pale with fright, falling silent as if they wanted to shrink into a crack in the wall.

"What's going on!"

"What's all the noise about!"

Liu Liyun and Su Yuting rushed downstairs upon hearing the noise.

Upon entering the restaurant, both of them were stunned to see Aunt Zhang rolling on the floor and the mess.

"Aunt Zhang?!" Liu Liyun screamed. Seeing Aunt Zhang's face, red, swollen, and blistered from the burns, her heart ached. She looked up sharply and glared at Su Wantang, "Su Wantang! Are you crazy! She's my woman, how dare you touch her!"

Su Yuting also came to her senses and immediately put on that saintly face, looking heartbroken: "Sister, how could you be so vicious! Aunt Zhang is still an elder, how could you be so cruel!"

Su Wantang toyed with the empty teapot in her hand, a playful smile curving her lips.

“A servant dares to bully his master, and even dares to lay a hand on the old man left behind by my mother.”

Her gaze slowly shifted to Liu Liyun, whose face was ashen, and her tone was light and airy.

"Is this the kind of rule you taught me, stepmother?"

"You..." Liu Liyun was speechless with anger.

Su Wantang didn't give her a chance to speak, and slowly added insult to injury.

"Should I call Jingyan right now and ask him to come and settle this matter?"

"Ask him how, according to the family rules, a wicked servant who rebels against his superiors and plots against his master is dealt with in his army?"

"Should we break his leg, or just drag him out and shoot him?"

Lu Jingyan.

Military discipline.

These words struck Liu Liyun like a series of thunderbolts.

The anger on her face froze instantly, turning into fear, and finally turning ashen.

She remembered the man's cold gaze that evening, and the phone call from Beijing.

She couldn't afford to mess with that man.

Liu Liyun's lips trembled as she looked at Zhang Sao, who was still wailing on the ground. A hint of resentment and unwillingness flashed in her eyes, but in the end, all her emotions turned into a humiliating silence.

She gritted her teeth and forced out a few words: "Hurry up and drag this useless thing away! He's a disgrace!"

The two servants, as if granted a pardon, rushed forward and dragged Zhang Sao away in a flurry.

It was a farce that ended abruptly and in a very unpleasant way.

Su Wantang didn't even glance at the mother and daughter. She walked to Wang Ma's side, squatted down, and helped the still trembling old woman up.

"Wang Ma, how are you?"

Looking at the girl in front of her, Wang Ma noticed that her face, which bore a striking resemblance to her mother, had lost all its innocence, leaving only a chilling calmness and sharpness.

She shook her head, but her eyes reddened.

"Young Miss... I'm alright... you..."
