Su Rui's joy was beyond words. He excitedly rushed to the three-tiered stone wall shelf on the left, where the elixirs were placed. His eyes eagerly scanned the various bottles and jars on the shelf, finally stopping on a porcelain bottle with a fine dollar pattern.
Without hesitation, he reached for the porcelain bottle and gently removed the still intact wooden cork. He then carefully shook the bottle, listening for any sounds within. Then, he slowly tilted the bottle and poured out two smooth, round pills. Surprisingly, they were a pitch-black color, like two hard iron balls.
Curious, Su Rui sniffed the contents, but could detect no scent at all. He couldn't help but wonder: Could the elixir have gone bad and lost its effectiveness? Although he couldn't be sure what the elixir was, Su Rui, fearing he'd miss out on a precious treasure, decided to keep them in his arms.
Then, his gaze, like radar, fell upon the pile of bottles and jars around him. He impatiently stretched out his hands, opening them one by one as if exploring a treasure trove. These bottles and jars contained all sorts of strange and bizarre objects, but to his dismay, they were either lifeless and mushy like deflated balls, or completely dissolved into a foul-smelling, sticky liquid. Only a few bottles still contained a few of the hard iron balls from before.
Facing the devastated scene before him, Su Rui couldn't help but feel a hint of disappointment, but this was all within his expectations. Everything in the world has a shelf life, and pills, for example, have an even shorter shelf life. Langya Immortal Mansion had been around for many years, so it was hard to predict how many of its pills would still be intact.
Undeterred, he calmly continued his search. After carefully examining all the bottles and jars, his gaze finally settled on a gray iron box. However, as he carefully opened the lid, something unexpected happened—a dazzling silver rainbow light, as bright as lightning, shot out from within the box!
The mysterious rainbow light, as swift as lightning, rushed toward the door at astonishing speed, as if to escape. However, just as it was about to burst out, another brilliant, multicolored ray of light suddenly burst forth from Su Rui's body, accurately enveloping the silver light. In an instant, as if under a spell, the silver light vanished into thin air, bound by the ray of light, as if it had never appeared.
Then, a deep and powerful voice came to Su Rui's ears: "Successfully collected a sword pill. Do you need to release it?"
It turned out that the sound was made by the Jiuyi Cauldron. The mysterious rainbow light just now was actually emitted by the Jiuyi Cauldron, which is its unique treasure-collecting technique.
Su Rui was stunned upon hearing what the Jiuyi Ding said. He had been expecting some rare elixir, but he had never expected it to be a sword pill! Hidden among the numerous elixirs, this sword pill had managed to retain its power despite the passage of time – truly astonishing. After some thought, Su Rui decided to let the Jiuyi Ding keep the sword pill for the time being, retrieving it after leaving Langya Immortal Mansion. After all, the current environment was not suitable for capturing the sword pill.
After searching carefully on the stone wall shelf on the left, he ran towards the stone platform on the right without stopping.
Approaching the stone platform, Su Rui took a closer look and saw a half-rolled bamboo scroll prominently placed in its center. The scroll looked quite old, yet showed no signs of decay, as if time had left little trace on it. Even more astonishing was the inscription on the scroll, written in an extremely mysterious handwriting. The characters danced with the air of dragons and phoenixes, like animated talismans, making one feel dizzy at the mere sight of them.
Su Rui tried to identify it for a moment, but ultimately shook his head helplessly, giving up. Just then, the small diagram in the Niwan Palace spoke, "This is Dragon Seal and Phoenix Seal. According to legend, it is a natural condensation of the 'Heavenly Book of Cloud Qi', modeled after the 'Three Origins, Five Virtues, and Eight Assemblies' of Qi in the sky. It is a unique symbolic writing system used by ancient immortals to record their magic and techniques!"
After hearing Xiaotu's words, Su Rui's eyes lit up, and a strong curiosity surged in his heart. He thought to himself, "Could this be the legendary method of immortality? If I can decipher these ancient characters, maybe I can even obtain the formula for some peerless elixir. Wouldn't that elevate my cultivation to a higher level?"
Filled with anticipation and confusion, Su Rui eagerly asked, "Xiao Tu, do you recognize these words? What kind of prescription is written on them?"
Xiaotu's tone was filled with a hint of guilt. "Master, I only recognized a few words in it, and I know that this is a secret recipe for refining an external golden elixir. However, I really can't discern the detailed content!"
Then, Su Rui asked about the Jiuyi Ding again: "What about the Jiuyi Ding? Can you recognize these characters?"
In a moment, Jiuyi Ding's slightly annoyed voice was heard: "I don't know these words either!"
Faced with such a situation, Su Rui could only shake his head helplessly, carefully put away the half scroll of bamboo slips and put it into his bag, thinking in his heart that after leaving this place, he must return to Qingcheng Mountain and calm down to study it carefully.
His gaze then shifted to the scattered materials beyond the bamboo scroll. Surprisingly, however, most of these materials had been severely weathered and eroded. With the slightest touch, they instantly turned to ash or rotted into mud, never mind preserving their original spirituality.
