Chapter 106: The Four Elements of Life – All the things I wanted to do have been accomplished one by one…
In early May, Lumera was invited to the Coachella Music Festival. They should have gone in 2024, but because they were on tour with a high-intensity stage rehearsal schedule of one new song every week, they couldn't handle traveling to the United States again, so they turned down the invitation. This year, they were finally able to make up for that regret.
When the official announcement came out last month, Luminas were as happy as if it were New Year's Day, and they were excitedly expressing their anticipation for Lumera to shine on stage.
Bigbang fans, including the group's leader, expressed their envy.
Kwon Ji-yong, as if he had been locked in a cold palace for ten years, said with a resentful tone, "It's so nice, I've never been on Coachella."
They should have debuted back in 2014, but were unable to perform due to visa issues. Later, due to the pandemic and other reasons, it became a series of regrets. Lumera made up for this regret in less than three years since her debut, which is truly ahead of the curve.
Jiang Tinghan took Quan Zhilong's hand and pretended to pull him out together: "Then just contact the organizer and say that you want to participate, Oppa. The organizer will definitely be happy to do so."
Kwon Ji-yong immediately said dejectedly, "No... it seems my schedule conflicts with the tour, I can't find the time."
His voice suddenly became louder: "Next year, there will definitely be a chance next year."
"After all, Bigbang is making a comeback for their 20th anniversary."
When Bigbang is mentioned, Kwon Ji-yong usually smiles. Jiang Tinghan looked at his expression, which clearly showed that he had started to imagine, and then lowered his eyes slightly, feeling the warmth of the other person coming from his fingertips.
This year he went alone, next year Bigbang will go. It seems he always loves this group so much. This almost saintly love probably makes fans feel heartbroken.
Jiang Tinghan recalled the short film that Kwon Ji-yong had prepared for the concert and his fans at the Goyang concert. She couldn't remember the specific content, but it was probably related to Nietzsche's "Übermensch" theory. She only remembered the line "Live for yourself."
He talked to his fans about it, but Kwon Ji-yong himself couldn't do it at all. Regardless of his teammates or the group, if Jiang Tinghan could benefit, Kwon Ji-yong himself would suffer a net loss. I believe he would be 100% willing to do that. He has always been like this. He is very smart in other matters, but he can easily be cheated out of his money and his heart by the people he likes.
Jiang Tinghan wanted to test whether Kwon Ji-yong was really that stupid, so she asked, "Oppa, can you transfer me some money?"
The topic shift was unusually abrupt, but Kwon Ji-yong responded very naturally: "Sigh, okay, how much do you want? What do you want to buy?"
Jiang Tinghan: "I want to buy a new house, maybe 30 billion?"
Kwon Ji-yong paused for a moment, but wasn't shocked. He just smiled and said somewhat teasingly, "It seems our Ting Han has a particular fondness for real estate?"
"Buying a house in the next two years would be a good choice. House prices are rising rapidly now, so they shouldn't depreciate as quickly. Honey, you have a good eye for investment. Go ahead and buy one."
They said 30 billion as if it were 300 yuan, and agreed without asking any questions. Their house is only worth 6 billion now. Oh no, houses in this area have increased in value a lot in the past few years and have now soared to 10 billion.
The property prices were already rising when Jiang Tinghan moved in with just his bags, and they rose even more sharply after it was revealed that it was a cohabitation spot for GC. The young couple even wanted to dominate the real estate market.
Jiang Tinghan then changed the subject: "Forget it, this house is pretty good now. If it doesn't work out, we can move back to Oppa's old mansion."
The assessment is complete. This man may have been a clumsy cat with an underdeveloped brain in his past life, but perhaps this pure and innocent heart, willing to give everything, is one of Kwon Ji-yong's charms.
"It's not exactly a luxury house..." Kwon Ji-yong then began to wonder why Jiang Tinghan suddenly brought up buying a house and then suddenly said she wouldn't. Suddenly, a thought struck him: "Ah, I know, it's a test, isn't it?"
"Testing whether my boyfriend is willing to spend money on me is a way to prove how much he loves me!" He had a smug look on his face as if he had discovered the truth.
Jiang Tinghan responded in agreement, "Mmm...Mmm."
She immediately started making things up: "I saw a post asking how much money your boyfriend can spend on you at once, so I just asked casually."
"I knew it!" Kwon Ji-yong's joy lasted only a second before his gaze towards Jiang Tinghan turned serious, as if he was determined to catch her red-handed. "You wouldn't read posts like this, would you?"
Even if she actually got the chance, she wouldn't experiment with it, because Jiang Tinghan isn't that bored. Besides, her love for money is serious, and she would never use money to replace her boyfriend's love.
“Yes.” Jiang Tinghan readily admitted, “I just wanted to test whether you, Oppa, are a fool who is easily fooled for money and sex. Now it seems—you are completely right.”
Kwon Ji-yong's first reaction was not anger, but to cover his face and act silly in a somewhat affected manner: "Oh, so I can still be fooled by beauty in Ting Han's eyes."
The focus is unusually peculiar.
Jiang Tinghan: "..."
"?"
She was amazed.
"Of course! Oppa, you gained quite a few new fans at your last concert, didn't you? Don't underestimate yourself." She patted Kwon Ji-yong on the shoulder, comforting him in a very serious but humorous tone.
Kwon Ji-yong chuckled and drawled, "I understand—ah geese mida~"
Jiang Tinghan is leaving for Coachella next week, and Kwon Ji-yong is also starting his tour in Japan next week, so he definitely can't go. Just like Haha, he has severe separation anxiety. He had been thinking about the two of them being separated for several days, so he always felt empty inside and wanted to do something now.
Kwon Ji-yong was momentarily at a loss for what they could do. It seemed like they had done a lot of things, yet there were still many things they hadn't done. Perhaps he was just that kind of person who was never satisfied. After all, he had always been hungry when he was a child, and he still maintained a desire for more and a more greedy yearning.
He needs a lot of things to survive, whether it's fame, applause, or love.
He suddenly remembered something he had planned to do, and his eyes instantly lit up like stars in the night sky: "Tinghan, shall we... go and film a four-panel comic strip about life?"
Without a second's hesitation, Jiang Tinghan immediately and cheerfully replied, "Okay."
Kwon Ji-yong immediately grinned, his smile sparkling. Their hands, which had been clasped together for so long, were now very warm, as if their palms were melting and they were reluctant to part.
It was this unwavering support and love that repeatedly eased his anxiety and brought him peace of mind.
In early May evenings, people went out in light shirts and trousers, sometimes with hats or scarves. Kwon Ji-yong even perched his sunglasses on the brim of his bucket hat. I don't know why he wore sunglasses at night, but anyway, it's the persistence of a fashionista, so don't worry about it.
The anti-China protests in Hongdae have been escalating recently, so the two of them haven't been going there much. Out of sight, out of mind, they went to another shopping mall for dinner to fill their stomachs.
Kwon Ji-yong eats everything with gusto, while Jiang Tinghan finds all Korean food unappetizing in Korea. Because she respects her boyfriend, she never says anything. However, Kwon Ji-yong, being such a considerate boyfriend, eventually noticed this himself. So when they go out to eat, they tend to choose Chinese or Western food more often. Korean-style Chinese food tastes Korean, but they find much better food at Chinese-owned restaurants.
The two think that after they retire, they can become food bloggers, and they have a lot of tips and tricks for finding delicious food.
When they arrived at the "Life in Four Frames" collaboration store, and Jiang Tinghan and Kwon Ji-yong were crammed into the small photoshoot room, she suddenly realized, "Ah... so these are photoshoot props."
Kwon Ji-yong perched his sunglasses on his nose, raising and lowering an eyebrow with a smug look on his face: "Otherwise what? What did Ting Han think? That I would deliberately wear sunglasses at night and then fall flat on my face so you could catch me?"
Jiang Tinghan narrowed his eyes slightly and smiled faintly: "This sounds more like a comedy... Ah, I thought it was some unique fashion of GD, serving a styling purpose."
Kwon Ji-yong put his arm around Jiang Tinghan's shoulder, hooked his sunglasses outwards with his pinky finger, revealing a pair of eyes that weren't big but were very unique. When he smiled, his eye bags would puff up, making him look more like an innocent-looking puppy that would start doing naughty things as soon as its owner left. But looking into his eyes, you couldn't say anything harsh.
"You're not wrong, it really does have a styling effect. Honey, smile, we're about to start."
Jiang Tinghan raised her head slightly and looked at the camera lens above with Quan Zhilong. She raised her hand and took Quan Zhilong's hand that was on her shoulder. The hand that was originally tightly clasped on her shoulder with its distinct knuckles and two or three gemstone and diamond rings immediately loosened and slipped between her fingers, and their ten fingers were intertwined in a second.
Kwon Ji-yong's smile widened, and his eyes behind his sunglasses curved into crescent moons. Jiang Tinghan didn't smile, but he leaned his head slightly closer to him.
"Crack—"
The moment the camera shutter sounded, a bunch of thoughts flashed through Jiang Tinghan's mind. Had they ever taken such a proper third-person perspective photo before, with both of them cooperating?
It seems not.
This is the first time.
As the name suggests, the four frames of life consist of four images. Taking just one image is far from enough, so the two exchanged props. Jiang Tinghan put on cool sunglasses, giving off a completely different vibe from Kwon Ji-yong's arrogance. It was a kind of coldness that kept strangers at bay.
This wasn't the kind of vibe Kwon Ji-yong wanted, so the man started to unleash his comedic talent, swaying back and forth with both hands on Jiang Tinghan's shoulders, pouting as if he was unhappy because some wish hadn't been fulfilled, but it was mostly coquettishness, and more like he wanted a kiss.
The third photo shows a different pose. The two of them had to move around very slowly, looking like two waddling little penguins. So Kwon Ji-yong then urged Jiang Tinghan to pose like a penguin. After being rejected, she muttered, "Your idol image is so serious." In the end, she was forced by her oppa to pose like a penguin with her two flat hands.
In addition to group photos, there were also solo photos of Kwon Ji-yong added to Jiang Tinghan's phone.
This is blatant hegemony! What about human rights organizations?! Do they even care?!
The last group photo featured a rather old-fashioned face heart gesture, but it was quite novel for Kwon Ji-yong. He quickly made a half-heart in a "C" shape, showing absolutely no sign of reluctance.
Kwon Ji-yong wanted to take more photos, but then he thought about how he would be reluctant to throw away any of them if he took too many, so he stopped.
The two of them came out with brand-new four-panel photos of their lives, feeling refreshed as the evening breeze blew.
Jiang Tinghan's gaze fell on Kwon Ji-yong's face in the group photo, staring at his smile for a long time without looking away. Then, as if waking up from a dream, she suddenly asked, "The group photo is over. Is there anything else you want to do today, Oppa?"
Kwon Ji-yong: "Oh? You'll come with me to do whatever I want?"
I've accomplished all the things I wanted to do!
Jiang Tinghan: "Yes."
Kwon Ji-yong: "It's totally Doraemon! Let me think—"
He smiled and said in a light tone, "Then let's go home, let's go home."
"Let's make this clear first, don't do anything messy when you get back."
"Ani, is Oppa a bad man? Tinghan, your recent thoughts are really strange."
"They're using honorifics; they seem guilty."
"No way, ani aiyo, ani aiyo, ani aiyo~" Kwon Ji-yong talked nonsense and even hummed a little tune he made up on the spot. "I used honorifics because my respect for you, Ting Han, suddenly arose spontaneously."
Jiang Tinghan blinked: "It's clearly Korean, so why can't I understand it? Is it a language that Oppa invented?"
"Yes, that sentence just now means what it means in Chinese—"
Kwon Ji-yong suddenly stopped, turned around, and stared intently at Jiang Tinghan. His voice, lowered and gentle, sounded even more tender in the evening breeze:
"I love you."
-----------------------
Author's Note: After yesterday's experience, all I can say is that there are just too many people in this world. The staff were constantly patrolling, which kept me and the Chinese fan next to me on edge. We were huddled together for warmth. Luckily, the Korean guy next to us was a nice person and didn't react much when he heard us speaking Chinese. But putting aside the unpleasant things, the final performance was truly perfect, especially "Too Bad!" He was insanely cool! A genius arranger! [pity][pity]
And I absolutely love the song "The Fool Who Only Cries" (musically speaking). I listened to it on repeat for a long time along with "Fool" and "Kind Person," it was so satisfying! [pat on the head][pat on the head]
And the dragon's eyes really are always sparkling. I often write "sparkling" because I think it's as cute as a puppy. After visiting more places in person, I found that it really is like that!
He didn't want to leave, and came out again and again [crying][crying] Oppa, you have to sing more parts next year, okay? Let me hear your voice more often.
