Chapter 7 The Little Illiterate and the Little Colander
The man in front of him was wearing a pair of black-rimmed glasses and had a plain square face. He looked like an intellectual.
However, the two remained on guard. They looked at each other in confusion and then stood in front of the three children. "Excuse me, what can I do for you?"
Li Xiu's smile remained unchanged, as if he didn't notice the tension in the two parents' eyes. He said, "Both children are very talented. Do you plan to enter the entertainment industry in the future?"
Han Lanji and Li Zhen's expressions relaxed a little, but the artists?
Even Han Lanji, who had this plan in her heart, was not prepared to determine the life direction of her child at such a young age, let alone Li Zhen, a mother who only wanted her child to be healthy and happy throughout her life.
"Let's wait until the children grow up and see what they think." As the saying goes, don't hit a smiling person. Han Lanjie also took Li Xiuman's business card with a smile, but it was easy to hear the rejection in her tone.
Li Xiuman was not disappointed when he heard the two people's rejection. From the moment he decided to start an entertainment company, he decided to learn the concept of Japanese idol groups. He not only needed mature artists who could debut in the next two years, but also a large number of children with sustainable development in the future. Therefore, for the past six months, he has been staring at these children every day like a weird uncle.
This was not the first time that he had been rejected by the parents of the children he had chosen in the past six months. He had also figured it out and realized that it was a good thing to be able to put an S/M impression in the minds of these talented children.
“Cast a wide net and catch more fish” is always right. (1)
Ye-eun and Kwon Ji-yong had no idea what their mom and that Agassi were talking about, and of course they didn't care about the conversation between the adults.
As soon as she got home, Ye-eun "commanded" her mother to put the big fox next to her many dolls, "Here, here! Mommy, put it here!"
She squatted down beside her bed, and her little body was instantly surrounded by dolls. "Put Fox next to the dog, let them play together!"
The red fox's legs were hooked by the tails of the two puppy dolls, and its hanging arms seemed to be hugging the two puppies.
Ye-eun tilted her head to pose for the doll and finally nodded in satisfaction, "The fox and the dog should get along well!"
Li Zhen shook his head helplessly and couldn't help but complain, "Is this what a bad friend is?"
Yien looked at Li Zhen in confusion and blinked in bewilderment. Fox, friend, dog, friend?
“Bad friends?” Ye-eun turned around and imitated Li Zhen and said to the dolls, “You are the best bad friends!”
Li Zhen shook her head helplessly, but a smile appeared in her eyes. This child has been smart since he was young.
She remembers everything adults say very quickly. I don’t know if it’s something she inherited from her father…
Thinking of this, her smile suddenly stopped and she shook her head to get that damn thing out of her mind.
"Ye-en, play here by yourself. I'll go cook for her."
Ye-eun nodded, and chatted with the little fox and little dog as if they were playing house. "Yes! Little red fox, black little dog, you are the fox... fox and dog friends!"
Li Zhen, who had just walked out of the door, shook his head. She was smart, but had a bad memory.
Unexpectedly, this idiom came out of Quan Zhilong's mouth within a few days. He was pinching a piece of soft and glutinous rice cake, his mouth full of cake paste, and he was "Awooo Awooo" around Aunt Li Zhen who was putting flowers on each table.
"Aunt...what do you mean by fox-dog friends?" He swallowed the cake in his mouth and looked curiously at his long-haired, gentle aunt. "Ye-en just said that she and I are fox-dog friends."
Li Zhen stopped fiddling with the flowers. The little boy in front of her stopped fiddling with the flowers. The hair on his forehead had been fixed into a tuft of sky-high hair by hairspray because he was performing in the kindergarten. His innocent eyes were as clear as a puppy's.
"Ah...Ye'en said you two are fox and fox-dog friends?" Li Zhen felt a little guilty. Daughter, what nonsense are you talking about! ?
After hearing her name, Ye-eun finally pulled her head out of the osmanthus cake. She blinked her big watery eyes and nodded confidently and seriously, "Jilong, stupid, I told you that we are friends like a fox and a puppy, Kiyo!"
She sighed. Zhilong was really something. He was obviously older than her but he knew nothing.
Quan Zhilong looked at Li Zhen's serious expression and nodded, then he thought, "Is fox and dog friends a Chinese idiom?"
"Yes, yes. But they're bad friends, not fox and dog friends..." Li Zhen touched his nose awkwardly. He asked Zhilong what bad friends meant. Based on his sensitive mind, would he think that Yien was disliking him again?
She couldn't help but glare at Yien who was oblivious to anything. This kid has been really smart since she was young! Too smart!
Just brush it off for now. The kid will probably forget about it in two days. It’s okay, it’s okay!
"Thank you, auntie. I understand now! Ye-eun and I will always be good friends!" Kwon Ji-yong's eyes lit up and he silently repeated the idiom twice in his mind as if he was absorbing knowledge. This was the first Chinese idiom he had learned.
Learning is useless! Be sure to show off to your kindergarten friends! I have actually learned Chinese four-character idioms that even my mother doesn’t know at such a young age. What a great fortune!
Li Zhen waved her hands in panic, "Ah...ah haha, no need, no need."
A few days later, Li Zhen listened numbly to the occasional "bad friends" of the children who came into the store, and her face, which had been smiling gently, finally couldn't break.
A few days later, when the kindergarten was over, a child held his parents' hands and said in a clear voice, "Preferring sons over daughters." He asked her in Korean, "Is it true that in China, boys are given heavy work and girls are given light work?" She couldn't help but dragged Ye-eun, who looked innocent, to the kitchen and asked, "Ye-eun! What idiom did you say to Zhilong again?"
Ye-eun was lifted up by the scruff of her neck like a kitten. She blinked blankly, and the two tufts of hair on her head shook twice. She said confidently and proudly, "Mom, I'm a good child. I'm very considerate of others. The other day Zhilong said that his mother was having a hard time, and I told him not to worry, and that we would never stop until we die."
"It's sympathy, not indifference... and Yien, what does it mean to never give up until death?" Li Zhen put Yien on his thigh with a "slap", and his hands unconsciously rested on her butt.
Ye-eun was unaware and thought her mother was testing her again. She rested her belly on her mother's thigh and turned her head with pride in her eyes, "I can rest when I die!"
Li Zhen was in tears. She shouldn't have been afraid that Yi Eun would forget Chinese completely after coming to Korea, so she played the videotapes of movies and TV series she bought for her. After playing it for her once, the child learned to play TV programs using the CD player by herself!
Now it’s better. I haven’t fallen behind in Chinese, but I haven’t learned it well either!
"Sure enough, I still have to let Yien get the kindergarten diploma first." She raised her hand, and finally moved it away from her perky little butt, and moved it to the two small flowers on her head that were tied up like Nezha. "Yien, if you see a word you don't understand in the future, come and ask mom, don't guess on your own!"
Otherwise, Ye-eun would use this innate confidence to teach Ji-ryong Chinese, and then through Ji-ryong's mouth that likes to tell everything, a confident little illiterate plus a little colander who loves to show off would be enough to pollute the brains of all the children in Itaewon that should be filled with knowledge.
If this continues, Ye-eun will not only become the biggest sinner who distorts Chinese culture abroad, but will also become a stumbling block for Korean children in their studies.
The kindergarten plan, which was not urgent at first, was immediately put on the agenda. Li Zhen solemnly looked at the enrollment information of the three kindergartens placed in front of her.
Itaewon is a relatively prosperous area in South Korea, and there are several kindergartens nearby. In comparison, these three are the best.
An overseas Chinese kindergarten, because it is run by Taiwanese compatriots, the price is moderate. The teachers there basically communicate in Chinese and also learn some simple Chinese writing, but in traditional Chinese characters.
One is a private international kindergarten in South Korea, which provides bilingual instruction in English and Korean, good food, many activities, and a lot to learn. The only drawback is that it is expensive, too expensive. She thought about the money she had now. If she went to this school and took Ye-en's ballet class, she might have to live frugally.
The other one is the kindergarten that both of the Quan family’s children attended. The facilities and teachers there are good, and the price is cheap. Koreans can even get tuition reductions. But since I am not a Korean citizen, I cannot enjoy this policy. The best thing is that Zhilong still has half a year to go to kindergarten, so he and Yien can keep him company.
Li Zhen struggled for a long time. The three kindergartens each had their own advantages, and she just couldn't make up her mind. Yien sighed. Her mother had been flipping through the three booklets for a long time. She was bored and put her hands in a walking posture, walking from the side of the table to the top of the table. "Mom, can you pay attention to me?"
"Ye'en, mom is very busy now, can you go and play by yourself?" She touched Ye'en's head, "Or can you help mom put all the stools in place?"
Ye-eun sat up straight instantly, raised her hands and placed them in front of her head, and swore solemnly, "Okay!"
The little kid carried small stools that were similar to hers and placed them neatly one by one. From time to time, she would stand aside to look at her "work results" and nod with satisfaction, like an old cadre, "Yeah, Ye-en did a great job, it's neater than mommy's!"
Seeing the child entertaining himself made Li Zhen feel relieved and tearful. The child, who was only three years old, suddenly came to a completely unfamiliar environment. Except for crying for his father and friends when he just left China, he comforted himself after he couldn't help crying and never made a fuss again.
She circled around the three kindergarten presentations and finally placed her hand on the last brochure.
You can learn Chinese and English when you are older. At this age, the most important thing is to play and have fun with friends happily.
