Chapter 710 Three Overlapping Hearts

Yan Shao quickly put down his laptop, got up, and strode to the bedside.

Zhu Qianying lay sprawled on the bed, her face pressed against the little guy's, her hand tightly gripping his, and whispered with overwhelming joy, "Baby, I'm so glad you're alright..."

The little guy's eyes were half-open, his lips slightly parted, and although his voice was weak, Zhu Qianying heard it clearly. He called out, "Mommy!"

That hoarse and weak "Mommy" made Zhu Qianying's tears fall in large drops again.

Zhu Qianying quickly turned her face away and hurriedly wiped away the tears on her face.

Yan Shao had already walked over, gently put his arm around her, and let her bury her face in his arm. He then bent down, kissed Zizai's eyelids, and smiled tenderly at him, "Hi! Baby, are you awake?"

Yan Shao's feignedly relaxed tone made the weak little guy smile, then his pale lips moved, and he called out hoarsely, "Daddy..."

Yan Shao bit his lip, trying his best to suppress his emotions, and lowered his head to kiss his slightly dry lips again, "My baby is so good!"

Zhu Qianying rubbed against his arm a few times, then finally turned around, bent down again, and looked at the little guy with slightly red eyes.

"Baby, Mommy made some soup and porridge, would you like some?"

It has been almost ten hours since the little guy was rescued. He has been on several IV drips during that time, so his stomach must be churning terribly by now.

Sure enough, the little guy's eyes, which had been rather dull, began to sparkle at Zhu Qianying's words.

He blinked, indicating that he wanted to.

Zhu Qianying kissed him, then got up and quickly ran out of the ward.

When she returned to the ward carrying a tray of hot soup and mushy rice porridge, the hospital director was examining Zizai with two doctors.

"Madam Yan, give him some soup first. If he wants anything else, give him some thin rice porridge."

While examining Zizai, the doctor gave instructions to Zhu Qianying.

The examination results were satisfactory. After the dean and doctor whispered a few words to each other, they spoke to Yan Shao.

"Young Master Yan has a good constitution, so his recovery is better than expected. If you feel uncomfortable here, you can be discharged tomorrow. I will send a doctor to check on Young Master Yan twice a day, morning and evening."

Yan Shao looked at Zhu Qianying, indicating that the decision was up to her.

Zhu Qianying looked at the doctor, "Will Zizai be alright at home?"

The doctor nodded. "The young master doesn't have any particularly serious injuries. It's basically just some superficial abrasions. There's no need for him to stay in the hospital. Going home should be more conducive to his recovery."

Zhu Qianying nodded to indicate that she understood, then turned her gaze back to Zizai's face.

"Honey, do you want to go home? Or do you want to stay here for a day or two?"

If it were any other child, and they were asked the same question, without a doubt, regardless of their physical condition, they would choose to go home.

But Zhu Qianying asked Zizai this question because she believed that he himself was better able to judge his own situation and make the appropriate choice.

Sure enough, Zizai didn't give a quick answer about going home like the other children.

Instead, she tried extending her hands, then raised her feet, before finally looking at the doctor with a question mark in her eyes.

The doctor looked surprised, but understood why he was looking at him. "Young master, do you feel weak in your limbs? That's just because you haven't eaten for too long and have been in the water for too long. Once you've eaten something and rested at home for a couple of days, you'll be able to get out of bed and run around."

Zizai blinked, then told Zhu Qianying in a soft, husky voice, "Go home..."

The hospital director and doctors finally understood why this little guy was able to protect himself so well in such a dangerous environment.

He probably received a lot of self-protection education from a young age.

Before the doctor and the hospital director had left, Zhu Qianying began feeding Zizai soup spoonful by spoonful.

But his ears perked up, and he carefully wrote down every single detail of the precautions the doctor and the hospital director had mentioned.

After drinking half a bowl of soup, Zizai shook his head to indicate he didn't want any more. Zhu Qianying thought he was having trouble adjusting, so she put down the bowl. Then she heard him pitifully say one word, "Porridge..."

Zhu Qianying felt both sad and amused; this girl was indeed a complete foodie.

However, this is good too; being able to eat means he can recover faster and better.

However, the little guy's stomach and spleen were indeed still weak. He stopped after eating half a bowl of rice porridge, shook his head, and indicated that he was full.

After finishing eating, the little guy closed his eyes again.

Zhu Qianying thought he was asleep, so she got up to tidy up, but her hand was tightly gripped by his little hand. When she turned her head, she met the little guy's anxious eyes.

Zhu Qianying then realized that he hadn't slept at all; he had just closed his eyes to rest.

"Sweetie, Mommy's going to get ready. Daddy's going to keep you company, okay?"

The anxiety in the little guy's eyes faded, and he slowly nodded.

Yan Shao sat on the edge of the bed with his bottom tilted to one side, putting one arm around the little guy's shoulder and letting him lean tightly against him.

"Zizai was fantastic this time!" Yan Shao gently rubbed his son's head, not holding back his praise.

Zizai nestled comfortably in his arms, his chubby little hands gripping Yan Shao's large palm, seemingly playing with it casually.

Zhu Qianying tidied up the dishes and took them outside to the door, where she had the bodyguard take them back to the dean's office. Turning around, she saw the little guy with long eyelashes drooping, holding Yan Shao's large hand and gesturing something.

Zhu Qianying walked over and offered her her hand. The little guy blinked his long eyelashes, looked up at her, then lowered his eyes again, placed one of his little hands in Yan Shao's palm, and then pulled Zhu Qianying's hand over, making her palm down, covering his and Yan Shao's palms.

The little guy didn't say anything, but Zhu Qianying seemed to hear what he was thinking: "Daddy and Mommy, we'll be together forever!"

And that sentence was probably the immense strength that enabled the little guy to remain calm when he fell into the deep pool.

Before her eyes, it seemed as if her beloved son was struggling in the deep pool, but gradually, her vision blurred again.

At that moment, she seemed to be able to clearly feel the heartbeats of Zizai and Yan Shao from their palms, and her palms were also thumping in sync with their heartbeats.

Although there were only three hands, Zhu Qianying felt as if they were three burning hearts, intertwined, beating in sync with each other.

Perhaps this is the kind of resonance between blood relatives and hearts.

It was this shared understanding that gave the three of them the confidence and motivation to support and rely on each other to survive.
