Chapter 711. Zai Zai is a real man (Fifth update)

After drinking the soup and eating the porridge, Zizai snuggled up to his parents. At first, he played with his parents' hands with great interest, but soon he started yawning repeatedly.

Finally, though she was still holding both of their hands, she stopped playing with them, her eyelids drooped, and she fell asleep leaning against them.

Zhu Qianying and Yan Shao carefully laid him flat on the bed, covered him with a blanket, and then took a bath one after the other. Seeing that the little guy was sleeping very soundly, they also got into bed and fell asleep in each other's arms.

Although her beloved son was confirmed to be safe and sound, Zhu Qianying was still a very light sleeper. So, in the middle of the night, the little guy, whether talking in his sleep or something else, whispered "I'm so hungry..." which woke up the half-asleep Zhu Qianying.

She tiptoed out of Yan Shao's arms, got out of bed, and walked to the bedside table next to Zizai.

Previously, seeing that the little guy couldn't eat much, she was worried that he would be hungry in the middle of the night, so she put some soup and rice porridge in a thermos and placed it on the bedside table.

Sure enough, a foodie's stomach recovers much faster than an average person's. Sure enough, after only two or three hours of eating, he was hungry again.

Zhu Qianying turned on the light in the bedside table, filled a large bowl with soup and a large bowl with rice porridge, and turned to help Zizai sit up. But she saw that Yan Shao had also gotten up at some point and was sitting on the other side of the bed, gently helping the little guy up.

Why did you get up?

Zhu Qianying carried the soup over and asked Yan Shao in a low voice.

Yan Shao looked down at his precious son, who was still lying in his arms with his eyes closed but his mouth gently chewing, and looked up at her with a smile, "If I don't get up, what will happen to our precious son if he gets hungry?"

Zhu Qianying smiled silently, picked up a spoon, scooped up some soup, and brought it to the little guy's lips.

The little guy never opened his eyes, but his mouth seemed to have eyes. As soon as the spoon was near his mouth, he automatically opened his mouth, stuck out his little tongue, and licked the soup in the spoon clean.

Zhu Qianying raised her eyes and exchanged a smiling glance with Yan Shao. Silently, she spooned half a bowl of soup into the little guy's mouth.

Zhu Qianying got up to change the rice porridge. The little guy in Yan Shao's arms stirred restlessly, but his eyes remained tightly closed.

"Baby, don't move, Mommy's going to get the porridge."

Sure enough, as soon as Yan Shao said that, the little guy nestled obediently in his arms and stopped moving.

Just like before, Zhu Qianying spooned the rice porridge to the little guy's mouth. The little guy quickly and accurately rolled the rice porridge in the spoon with his tongue and put it all into his mouth.

"Kid, that tongue of yours, it's like a frog's tongue..."

Yan Shao found it amusing and couldn't help but chuckle in a low voice.

Zhu Qianying smiled and watched the little guy eat and sleep without any problems. He kept his eyes closed the whole time, but finished most of the soup and most of the rice porridge.

Zhu Qianying used a damp towel to wipe the little guy's mouth clean, then gestured for Yan Shao to put him back on the bed so he could sleep again.

Yan Shao picked him up, saying, "I'll take him to pee..."

Zhu Qianying found it amusing, but nodded nonetheless. This Young Master Yan was quite thoughtful in many ways.

Soon, she heard a rushing sound. Judging from the sound and speed, the little guy must have been holding it in very tightly.

Fortunately, Young Master Yan remembered this incident; otherwise, the little guy would probably have wet the bed tonight.

The two of them helped the little one fall asleep again before climbing into bed together.

Zhu Qianying instinctively snuggled into Yan Shao's arms. She should have been very sleepy, but for some reason, she suddenly burst out laughing in his arms.

Yan Shao rubbed his chin against the top of her head a few times and asked softly, "What are you laughing at?"

Zhu Qianying lifted her head from his embrace and looked at him in the dim light.

When was the last time Zizai wet the bed?

Young Master Yan really didn't know about this.

So he asked with great interest, "When? When you were four?"

Anyway, after his precious son came back to his side, he never saw the little guy wet the bed.

As far as he knew, many children were still bedwetting even in kindergarten, which meant they were five or six years old. Therefore, Yan Shao thought that his son was so smart that he should be able to stop bedwetting sooner.

Zhu Qianying shook her head, "Of course not, it was around three years old..."

Young Master Yan was very pleased with himself. Sure enough, his son, Young Master Yan, had long since escaped the world of bedwetting.

"Actually, before this last time, he stopped wetting the bed when he was about one year old. At night, when he was half asleep, he would tug at my arm and say that he needed to pee."

“After he turned one year old, he didn’t wet the bed for more than a year. By then he was quite sensible. That night, he was holding most of a watermelon, watching cartoons and eating it with a small spoon. I told him not to eat too much and to scare him by saying that he would wet the bed if he ate too much. He said with a smug look on his face that he was a man and had stopped wetting the bed a long time ago.”

Upon hearing this, Yan Shao laughed, "So, you really peed in the middle of the night?"

Zhu Qianying nestled in his arms and chuckled for a while before saying, "Yes, back then he slept in his little wooden bed, which was placed next to mine. In the middle of the night, I heard a 'drip drip' sound, and at first I thought it was a leaking faucet. Later, when I woke up, I realized, wait a minute, this is the bedroom, how could there be a faucet? When I turned on the light, I saw that it was that naughty boy Zizai who wet the bed. He probably ate too much watermelon and couldn't hold it in!"

Yan Shao briefly imagined the situation and found it amusing. "And then?"

Zhu Qianying coughed lightly. "Later, I woke him up. He sat there looking completely bewildered. Then, when he realized that there was a wet patch under him, he asked me, looking silly, 'Mommy, why did you splash water on me?' I burst out laughing and leaned against the crib railing, laughing for a long time. Then, I patted his cheek and told him, 'Son, you wet the bed!'"

"At first, he stared at me blankly, then reached into his crotch and touched it. His expression was all over the place. I was just about to laugh at him a couple more times when he suddenly pouted and burst into loud sobs!"

Yan Shao found it even more amusing, "This kid, so what if he wets the bed? Is it really necessary to cry?"

Zhu Qianying's mind was filled with the image of the naughty child crying so sadly and unrestrainedly. The more she thought about it, the more she couldn't stop laughing. She buried herself in Yan Shao's arms and giggled for a while before raising her head again.

“That’s what I thought too, and I didn’t dare to laugh at him anymore. I comforted him, saying, ‘So what if he wets the bed? What’s the big deal?’ Then he cried and said to me, ‘Zizai is a man, not a little kid…’”

At this point, Zhu Qianying stopped laughing.

At that moment, Yan Shao's smile faded, and he lowered his head, silently kissing Zhu Qianying on the forehead...
