Chapter 972. Yan Bo, you filthy scoundrel!

Yan Bo glanced at her again, knowing that he couldn't hide it any longer, so he briefly explained the setbacks he had encountered recently and the current situation of the company. Tong Xiaohuai listened attentively and asked a very serious question.

"Then tell me honestly, why aren't you telling her? Is it because you're afraid the Tong family's reputation will tarnish the reputation of the Chinese people, or do you want to distance yourself from me?"

Although Yan Bo repeatedly explained that he was only trying to be brave and did not expect the situation to become more and more serious, he chose to hide it.

But Tong Xiaohuai didn't want to have any thorns in her heart, so she frankly asked about the two thoughts that had once frightened her.

Yan Bo was stunned for a moment, then he understood.

"Are you afraid that this is why I'm keeping it from you?" he asked.

Tong Xiaohuai neither confirmed nor denied it. Yan Bo touched her face and said very sincerely.

“Xiao Huai, I swear to God, I have never had such a thought. I have never had any prejudice against you or the Tong family, haven’t you always known that?”

Tong Xiaohuai stared at him without blinking, remained silent for a while, and then asked, "So, you didn't tell me because of your pathetic pride?"

Yan Bo was taken aback again, then forced a bitter smile and nodded helplessly, "No, it was indeed for my pitiful pride."

Ultimately, all the bravado and persistence are indeed for that pitiful sense of self-esteem and persistence.

Really, for no other reason.

Tong Xiaohuai remained staring at him without moving. "Then I'll tell you now, I just found out that I have enough personal funds that I can lend you for working capital. Do you want it?"

Tong Xiaohuai isn't a man, and she doesn't think she can put herself in Yan Bo's shoes to consider things. So, she's leaving the choice to Yan Bo; whether or not to accept it is his business.

However, while Yan Bo didn't mind being associated with the Tong family, Tong Xiaohuai was, to be honest, a little bothered.

No matter what, Yanhuang is the most valued newly established enterprise by the government this year. If Yanhuang gets involved in a matter that is entangled with money and organized crime, the consequences will be severe.

Therefore, after learning the exact funding gap from Di Xu, Tong Xiaohuai had already made up her mind.

Yan Bo stared at her, wide-eyed. "Where did you get so much money?"

If she were to get herself into another mess because of him, that would be something he definitely wouldn't want to see.

Tong Xiaohuai said calmly, "You may not know this, but my dad is a very conservative person in some ways. In his opinion, neither property nor fixed assets are as practical as cash in times of crisis. So, since I was born, he has been regularly depositing large sums of money into my and my mom's accounts. And in the past eighteen years, not a single penny of that money has ever been used."

Yan Bo assumed she was unaware of Yanhuang's current funding shortfall and stated a number, "That much?"

The number he mentioned was exactly the same as the one Di Xu had given.

Tong Xiaohuai remained calm, "Not only that!"

She had forgotten to be angry, but now she remembered that she had forgiven him without any principles. Feeling resentful, she tried her best to maintain a calm expression.

Yan Bo knew perfectly well that she wasn't actually angry anymore; she was just putting on a serious face.

He reached out and pulled her into his arms again, laughing, "Did I just get a girlfriend, or did I find a gold mine?"

Tong Xiaohuai snorted, "Consider yourself lucky, you've found a gold mine in your girlfriend."

Yan Bo hugged her and coaxed her a few more times before Tong Xiaohuai's indifferent face finally showed a slight smile.

Hearing with her own ears that Yan Bo was willing to accept her help, she got up to pour two glasses of warm water and handed one of them to Yan Bo.

Yan Bo looked at the couple's mug in his hand, then looked up at her. "Hmm?"

"Take your medicine!"

As Tong Xiaohuai spoke, she squatted down in front of the coffee table, rummaging through the bag of Western medicine while asking him, "Where do you feel unwell? Do you have a sore throat? Do you have a cough?"

Yan Bo stared at her quietly until she looked up at him with a frown and asked, "Are you mute?" Only then did he get up, walk over, squat down behind her, and hug her from behind.

He buried his head in her shoulder and answered in a muffled voice, "Honey, I'm not feeling unwell. I just drank a little last night. I was afraid you'd overthink it, so when you asked if I was sick, I said yes. I didn't expect..."

I didn't expect her to be so nervous; she bought medicine and rushed over early in the morning.

He never expected that she would cry because he had kept something from her!

Tong Xiaohuai was stunned for a moment, then recovered and raised her elbow to smash it hard into his ribs.

You're sick!

That bastard, he made her lose a night's sleep!

That bastard made her so angry she almost fainted first thing in the morning!

He's really sick!

However, it wasn't him who was sick, but her!

She, however, suffers from a disease called love.

Moreover, he is quite ill!

Yan Bo held her tightly, neither dodging nor flinching, letting her hit his ribs hard twice in succession.

His ribs hurt, but he smiled broadly because he had discovered something that made him extremely happy.

She truly loved him more than he thought!

Tong Xiaohuai slammed into him twice before she felt a little better and struggled to stand up.

But after squatting for a while, their legs and feet became numb. When she struggled, they lost their balance and ended up lying on the floor together, hugging each other.

Yanbo's place was simply decorated, with ordinary floor tiles on the floor. The two of them weren't wearing much, and as soon as they lay down, the cold temperature of the floor seeped into their skin through their clothes.

Yan Bo instinctively pulled Tong Xiaohuai upwards, thus creating a situation where he was on the bottom and Tong Xiaohuai was lying on top of him.

Tong Xiaohuai struggled against him a few times, saying, "Let me go..." as she tried to sit up, supporting herself on his firm chest.

Yan Bo was reluctant to let her go. You see, when he was drinking alone last night, he longed to have such a gentle body to hold in his arms, to snuggle against her for a while.

Now, although he has sobered up, his inner longing remains unfulfilled, leaving him feeling incredibly empty.

Now that I've finally got my wish and am holding her in my arms, how could I possibly let go?

So, one refused to let go, and the other struggled relentlessly. Originally, the two were back to back, but later they ended up in an ambiguous position with their chests touching.

After Tong Xiaohuai's antics, Yan Bo's body underwent changes without him even realizing it.

Yan Bo was aware of the changes in his body, but Tong Xiaohuai was unaware. She continued to scratch and move around on him recklessly until her body touched something strange. The inexplicable sensation that made her scalp tingle made her mind explode!

"Yan Bo, you filthy scoundrel!"
