New Environment, New Hope

New Environment, New Hope

Seven Xu's personal motto: I don't expect anyone to be there forever, so I'll become the light that never leaves.

The morning reading session in Chinese class passed by minute by minute. Hao Nan glanced at his watch. In 15 minutes, get out of class would be over. Everyone gradually gathered around the seats of their respective group leaders to recite the text.

But he hadn't memorized it at all, and with a fluke mentality, he went to the group leader's seat.

Just as I walked up to her, the student in front of me finished reciting and left.

Team leader Wan Xiaoyi looked up at him and asked, "Aren't you going to memorize it yet?"

"Team Leader Xiao Yi, please be kind and give me a reminder."

She resolutely refused, and was a little angry: "Last time I covered for you, I was also scolded by the teacher and punished by having to copy the text twice. You should give up on that idea as soon as possible and focus on memorizing your books."

She snatched the book from his hand, glanced at the clock on the wall, and said, "Memorize it. There are 7 minutes left before get out of class ends."

His inner alarm bells rang loudly, and after 7 minutes, he hurriedly began to recite the text, but he clearly did not remember the content well.

He stumbled and hesitated, but he still managed to memorize it with some difficulty.

Team leader Wan Xiaoyi listened attentively, but suddenly got stuck when reciting the third sentence.

He looked at the team leader somewhat awkwardly, just about to ask her to make an exception.

The homeroom teacher suddenly pushed open the door and clapped his hands to signal for quiet.

The Chinese teacher understood and instructed, "If you haven't memorized the rest, come to my office today and memorize them for me. This is only for today."

He was completely deflated. What was bound to happen had finally happened. He returned to his seat dejectedly, staring at the dense text in his book and silently memorizing it.

A girl walked into the classroom, and the teacher said, "This is our new classmate, Qi Xu. She will be a new member of our class from now on. Let's all help each other out."

The whole class began to applaud, welcoming the arrival of the new student.

Hao Nan, sitting in the back row, looked at the girl on the podium with dissatisfaction when he heard the number 'seven'.

This is ridiculous! It's the seventh again! What sins did I commit in my past life to deserve this treatment?

The number seven is Hao Nan's unlucky number. Other people's unlucky numbers are just for show, but his are different; he will really be unlucky.

Last weekend, I tripped over something on flat ground and then someone splashed dirty water on me. Also, last time I bought some snacks and received seven yuan in change, but the snacks mysteriously disappeared, and the seven yuan was gone too...

Not only that, he was also bitten by a dog named Xiaoqi once, and ever since then he has hated anything related to the number 'seven'.

Qi Xu also noticed Hao Nan in the back row and gave him a warning look.

"You can sit in that empty seat over there. She's the class monitor and can help you." There was only one empty seat in the classroom.

Wan Xiaoyi waved happily to Qi Xu, who walked up to her with a smile.

Wan Xiaoyi made room for her and let her in: "My name is Wan Xiaoyi."

"Seventy." Her voice was indifferent.

She took her Chinese textbook out of her schoolbag and asked, "What are we doing for morning reading?"

"You can recite 'Spring River Flower Moon Night,' but since you're new here, the teacher should be more lenient."

"I've already memorized it, but who will memorize it for?"

"I'm the group leader, you can memorize it for me."

Qi Xu recited the entire poem "Spring River Flower Moon Night" quickly and fluently without pausing at all, which shocked the class monitor.

Having gotten to know this new classmate, her curiosity led her to ask, "Is your school's pace very fast?"

Qi Xu was clearly stunned for a moment, a flash of hatred in his eyes, which disappeared in an instant.

After asking for a while, she still couldn't answer Wan Xiaoyi's question.

Wan Xiaoyi noticed that she didn't want to talk about it, so the old school had to keep quiet.

After class, Wan Xiaoyi led her new classmates to the playground. Wan Xiaoyi was already the tallest girl in the class, and Qi Xu was even taller than her. There was just one spot left on the boys' side, so the line was complete.

"Hao Nan, move over there a little."

He obediently did as he was told: "Class monitor, please be kind and don't report me for my morning reading."

She glared at him and said, "Impossible!" Then, she said gently to Qi Xu, "You stand here, closer to me."

Qi Xu nodded in agreement and stood beside her.

He glanced at Hao Nan and said, "Sometimes when I'm not around, could you help look after the new students?"

Hao Nan looked disgusted when he remembered that her name contained the number seven, and replied perfunctorily, "I know."

Qi Xu cursed him in her heart, "Is this guy crazy? I just arrived and I haven't offended him. He's acting all neurotic." She moved half a step closer to Wan Xiaoyi, distancing herself from Hao Nan.

He noticed her movements and thought, "Damn, this woman's got her eye on me."

After walking half a lap with the group, the PE teacher used a microphone to tell us to start running, and the running exercise music started playing at that moment.

The sun was blazing, and the girls in the class were already exhausted. Their running speed slowed down, and the classes behind them had already pulled far ahead of the top classes.

Wan Xiaoyi was already exhausted. Seeing that Qi Xu had slowed down, she said, "Qi Xu, do you want to come to the toilet with me?"

"Then hurry up and go to the toilet."

She laughed and said, "What I mean is, let's slack off, I'm too exhausted to do it anymore."

She remained silent for a while, and thinking she had some concerns, he explained, "It's okay, you can come with me, the teacher won't blame you."

Before Qi Xu could react, Wan Xiaoyi pulled her and ran out of the playground to a shady spot to rest.

Qi Xu wasn't annoyed and calmly asked, "Will this continue until the morning exercises are over?"

"Of course not. We have to go back when we do the aerobics later. The teacher understands that there are fewer people doing the running exercise. Girls are bound to get tired."

After resting for just two minutes, a classmate came running up, panting, and said, "Class monitor, the Chinese teacher wants to see you."

He glanced at Qi Xu and said, "You must rejoin the group during the aerobics later. I'm leaving now."

Qi Xu nodded in agreement, and only after the jogging team stopped and prepared to switch to aerobics did she slowly walk towards the center of the playground.

But she was a little confused, not knowing where Class 8 was. She only knew the class monitor and a boy named Hao Nan; she had no impression of the others.

She was looking around when she suddenly caught a glimpse of Hao Nan out of the corner of her eye. Their eyes met, but a passing classmate blocked her view. When she looked up again, Hao Nan was nowhere to be seen.

She strolled leisurely past the various lines, but couldn't find her class. Just as she was about to ask the teacher which class was 8, she was called to the front for a meeting.

I randomly asked a classmate if he knew where Class 8 was.

The tall boy pointed in the direction ahead and gave her a general idea of the location.

Her lips twitched slightly. With so many teams around, how was she supposed to know where Class 8 was? She thanked them anyway and headed in the direction they were pointing.

Hao Nan, who was in the group, saw her and kept looking for the class group to call her, but when he thought about the number seven in her name, he was immediately blinded by anger and gave up his idea.

Wan Xiaoyi returned to her class and, not seeing Qi Xu, asked Hao Nan, "Where's Qi Xu? Didn't I tell you to take good care of her?"

"Class monitor, I didn't take her away, how would I know where she is?"

She turned around and saw Qi Xu walking slowly on the playground, looking for her class.

Wan Xiaoyi ran to Qi Xu's side and led her to the class line.

Why are you walking so slowly behind?

"I just arrived and don't know many people in my class, so I couldn't find the class group."

Wan Xiaoyi believed Qi Xu, but she didn't believe Hao Nan hadn't seen her. With such a big person behind her, it would be hard not to notice.

The homeroom teacher returned from the meeting, and as the music started, some students became more motivated, and some even jumped up.

The song is Wang Xinling's "Love You".

As soon as the rhythm started, everyone began their joyful morning exercises. Even the head of the teaching department started dancing on the stage, his face full of smiles.

Qi Xu's movements were somewhat unsteady, and some of her movements were repetitive. She learns things very quickly and has a strong memory, memorizing things after just one time. Dance moves were no problem for her, but her physical movements were a bit stiff and unnatural.

She suddenly had a burst of inspiration and silently made a mental note of this beautiful moment.

If you suddenly sneeze, it must be because I'm thinking of you...

......

Qi Xu quickly ran back to the classroom, took out his sketchbook and pen, and carefully drew the scene he had just witnessed on the sketchbook.

She carefully sketched on her notebook, stroke by stroke. As her classmates gradually returned to the classroom, the noise increased, but it did not affect Qi Xu at all, allowing her to isolate herself from the world around her.

Wan Xiaoyi disappeared after morning exercises and asked Hao Nan, "She was just next to you? Do you know where she went?"

"Class monitor, why do you keep telling me to pay attention to her?"

"If you don't want to, you'll have to figure out what to memorize for Chinese and English from now on." He called me back as I was about to leave.

"What's the meaning?"

"Brother, I'm only reminding you because we were in the same class from junior high to high school."

"Another change of team leader? Why is it her this time?"

"Because I feel comfortable looking at her, and I like her very much."

Hao Nan was very troubled. Why? Did I really have a grudge against Qi?

"Squad leader, this is covering up for someone and abusing your power."

"It's not like I didn't protect you. If you were smarter, I wouldn't be so tired."

"Wan Xiaoyi! That's too much!"

She scoffed and headed to the cafeteria for lunch, also bringing some porridge for her new deskmate.

"Phew~ I'm done." Satisfied, he held up his sketchbook, admiring his work.

Just then, Wan Xiaoyi saw it, ran to her seat, put the porridge on the table, and praised, "Wow~ You're so amazing, can I take a look?"

"Of course." She handed the sketchbook to Wan Xiaoyi.

Can I see your previous works?

"no problem."

She carefully flipped through her works, and each one amazed her: "Xu Xu, you are so amazing. You could become a cartoonist in the future. They are so vivid."

Qi Xu was still a little shy, smiled but didn't say anything.

Hao Nan stood at the classroom door, looking resentfully at the classmate named Qi Xu, and reluctantly walked to her seat.

He hesitated and said, "Seven Xu..." He still couldn't say it, but his eyes fell on the painting in Wan Xiaoyi's hand, and he was amazed: "You can paint?"

Wan Xiaoyi glared at him: "My Xuxu drew this, isn't it better than yours? Your drawing looks like a dog crawled across it."

"You've only just met, why are you calling each other so intimately?" Hao Nan didn't quite understand the girl's thinking.

"I felt an instant attraction to her the moment I saw her, it has nothing to do with you." Wan Xiaoyi said the first part with a cheerful expression, but her tone changed as she spoke the second part.

Xu Sheng suddenly came over, casually put his arm around Wan Xiaoyi's shoulder, glanced at the painting in Wan Xiaoyi's hand, then at Qi Xu, and said, "It is indeed much better than Hao Nan's painting, and it can rival mine. Why don't you join our art club, new student?"

Qi Xu's eyes were filled with longing for art, and she looked at Xu Sheng with bright eyes: "Where do I register? When do I go?"

"You can register with me, and I'll report it to the president."

He nodded frantically, afraid that Xu Sheng would change his mind; his eyes were filled only with appreciation and longing for art.

The group found her appearance amusing.

"Xu Sheng? When you praise someone, can you at least not undermine my confidence? If you teach me, I can draw like this too." Hao Nan was still bothered by Qi Xu, but the situation didn't allow him to do so, so he could only vent his dissatisfaction on his good brother.

"You should practice the basics first. You're trying to run before you can even walk."
