Chapter 34 "I'm pregnant." (Part 6...)

Chapter 34 "I'm pregnant." (Part 6...)

"I'm pregnant." Six years ago, when Ji Qingyu learned the news, the first person she told was Lin Ying.

Lin Ying was already in a vegetative state at the time. He held Lin Ying's hand, and it felt very warm.

“But I might not be able to give birth to her. The doctor told me to think it over. I’m planning to go find Fu Han,” Ji Qingyu said. “He wouldn’t be so heartless. This child is our child. Mom, I’m going to be a mom too.”

Will you wish me good luck?

...

"I'm pregnant." Six years ago, the second person to find out that Ji Qingyu was pregnant was Fu Han.

It was a very unpleasant experience, and Ji Qingyu never went to see Fu Han again after that.

Then Ji Qingyu sold the brooch and used the proceeds to pay for Lin Ying's medical expenses.

When he got home, he found that the water pipes were broken, rusty water was flowing all over the floor of the rented room, there was mold, it was late autumn without underfloor heating, and he was also in debt.

Ji Qingyu stood at his doorstep, wondering if this rented room was like this when Lin Ying was there. It didn't seem so; he couldn't remember.

It was his first time having a child, and he knew nothing about it. Fortunately, the child was very well-behaved, never crying or making a fuss. Sometimes, Ji Qingyu couldn't even feel her presence.

Until he could no longer support himself working three jobs a day, and could no longer do the manual labor that brought in the quickest money, he was living beyond his means and soon owed his landlord several months' rent.

Then winter came, and he lay in bed, eyes open, cold, with no heating, no food, and no money, yet he still wanted to give birth to the child.

He forgot that he was a permanently marked omega. In the coldest winter, he went into heat. The heat made him tremble and break down. His throat bled and his wrists were covered in scratches. He had never been in so much pain. He wished he could smash his head against the wall and die.

His unreal life, protected by Lin Ying, inside a glass dome, came to an end. He went to the hospital, signed the papers after the doctor confirmed everything, and then, he lost her.

Luo Sheng pulled Ji Qingyu back and shook his shoulder. Luo Sheng's hand supported him firmly: "Don't rush, calm down first, come in and have a cup of hot tea."

The room where Luo Sheng lived was still the same, warm and clean. His condition had also improved a lot. Luo Sheng poured a cup of hot lemon tea with an excessive amount of honey in it, sweet and warm. Then he put a blanket on Ji Qingyu.

"I'm pregnant, a month along," Ji Qingyu said. "Uncle, do you think I should tell Fu Han?"

Luo Sheng fell silent.

"Qingyu, you were originally planning to leave, weren't you?"

Ji Qingyu lowered her head. Luo Sheng was right. He planned to leave, but deep down he felt a little reluctant.

“Actually, you might be able to give each other a chance.” Luo Sheng held Ji Qingyu’s hand. “I know there are many things Xiao Han doesn’t know, and you can’t tell him, but since you’re having this child, perhaps you should try for the sake of the child.”

“Xiaoyu, you might think I’m being selfish, but Xiaohan isn’t a bad kid. Often, he’s just been around his father for so long, picking up bad habits and developing many wrong ideas. I didn’t watch him grow up; that’s my fault.” Luo Sheng’s gaze held a hint of guilt. “I have no right to ask Xiaohan to forgive me, just as he has no right to ask you to forgive him. But, as a father, I selfishly hope you can give him a chance…”

"Of course, it all depends on you."

Hearing these words, Ji Qingyu's unease lessened considerably. He was still hesitant, but he was already inclined to lay everything out in front of Fu Han. He thought that perhaps Fu Han was more merciful than Ji Ran and wouldn't hold onto his weakness. Perhaps he should give them another chance.

This was too risky a gamble, and he found it difficult to make up his mind.

After saying goodbye to Luo Sheng, he first called Ma Yu: "Brother Ma, let's meet. I'll give you a check, you can pass it on to Ruan Jing, and then tell her to leave when no one is around. This money is enough to pay off her debts."

"Okay... Xiaoyu, is everything going smoothly?" Ma Yu asked with some concern.

"Successfully." Ji Qingyu gave a wry smile. He gripped the hem of his clothes and hesitated after hanging up the phone, repeatedly rehearsing his answer in his mind at the villa entrance.

Let's give each other another chance this time. He's going to tell Fu Han that he's pregnant, and try one more time, just the last time.

Ji Qingyu didn't know whether her decision was right or wrong.

His fingers stiffly reached for the door. Strangely, the entire villa was quiet today. Ji Qingyu surveyed the atmosphere inside the house, and Aunt Wang cautiously beckoned to him.

"Mr. Fu isn't in a good mood," Wang said softly.

"What's wrong?" Ji Qingyu asked in a low voice.

"I'm not quite sure... Mr. Fu stayed alone in the second bedroom for a long time, and when he came out, he smashed a very precious antique vase," said Aunt Wang. "Madam, you shouldn't go over there, or you might get angry."

Ji Qingyu patted Wang Sao's hand and went inside. Fu Han was sitting on the sofa, expressionless, with two buttons of his shirt undone, revealing a terrifying tattoo on his chest. The tattoo had been with him for so long that the color had faded, but the scar beneath it was more obvious, and it hadn't completely disappeared over the years.

Fu Han didn't speak, he just sat there. Ji Qingyu took a deep breath and spoke first, but for some reason, she asked, "Fu Han, how... how did you get that old wound on your chest?"

Fu Han didn't speak, but beckoned him over. Only then did Ji Qingyu notice the tattooing tools on his table. Ji Qingyu looked at him with some confusion.

“The tattoo color has faded and needs to be repainted,” Fu Han said, his eyes fixed on Ji Qingyu. “You do it.”

"I have no experience, I don't want to hurt you. Tattoos are so close to the heart, you should get a professional to do it," Ji Qingyu suggested softly.

Fu Han gripped Ji Qingyu's wrist, his eyes deep and unfathomable. Ji Qingyu was pulled in front of him, kneeling on his lap, her hands also resting on his shoulders. Looking at the sharp weapons, Ji Qingyu steeled her resolve and said, "Fine, I'll do it."

The tattooing process was very long. Ji Qingyu had no experience at all, so Fu Han told him how to insert the needle. He took the smallest needle and slowly inserted the black liquid into Fu Han's body.

Fu Han's muscles were tense and trembling, sweat dripping down his face. An hour later, Ji Qingyu was the first to collapse from exhaustion. He stopped, panting, and Fu Han pressed Ji Qingyu's head against his body.

Ji Qingyu took a few sips of water and slowly asked, "How did you get this injury?"

Fu Han lowered his gaze: "It's been a long time. When I was a child, I wanted to run away to find Luo Sheng, but Fu Yunbai beat me with a red-hot iron."

Ji Qingyu looked up at Fu Han, who was expressionless, as the alpha held him, his broad arms revealing strong muscles. Ji Qingyu asked softly, "Doesn't it hurt?"

"It doesn't hurt anymore." Fu Han stroked Ji Qingyu's hair, his expression unreadable, and said, "Let's continue."

Ji Qingyu picked up the medium-sized tattoo pen. His hand began to tremble, but there were still two-thirds left to complete. Although it was just a touch-up, it was still difficult for him.

Fu Han breathed softly, his chin resting on Ji Qingyu's shoulder, his breath hitting Ji Qingyu's neck. Their skin was pressed together, and Ji Qingyu could feel Fu Han's jaw tighten with each stroke of his knife, feeling his endurance and pain. Seemingly sensing Ji Qingyu's panic, Fu Han gently stroked Ji Qingyu's back to calm him down.

Fu Han was like a large carnivore. Ji Qingyu was carving his heart. Her hand trembled and blood seeped out. Fu Han groaned, his hand clenched Ji Qingyu's clothes, and then slowly slid down to Ji Qingyu's waist and pinched it twice.

Ji Qingyu picked up a sterilized, warm towel and wiped away the bloodstains. He began to emit a faint scent of rain, trying to soothe the aching alpha. Fu Han closed his eyes and leaned against Ji Qingyu.

It was a long process, and it took even longer to get to the end. Ji Qingyu didn't know how he managed to keep going; his palms were sweaty, while Fu Han was practically pressed against Ji Qingyu.

He was like a large feline, his two legs clamping Ji Qingyu between them as he tried to bite the tip of her ear.

Ji Qingyu then began to tremble.

Fu Han was wicked. When Ji Qingyu attacked, he bit harder. Her ear cartilage was very fragile. After Fu Han bit her twice, Ji Qingyu's hand trembled even more. So Fu Han bit Ji Qingyu's earlobe again, this time with even more force.

Although Ji Qingyu was the one getting the tattoo, it seemed that the initiative was still in Fu Han's hands.

Near the end, Fu Han suddenly used all his strength, his sharp fangs biting Ji Qingyu's earlobe. Pain throbbed, and Ji Qingyu's hand cut another gash on Fu Han's body.

Before he could react, Fu Han pushed the tattoo machine away and hugged Ji Qingyu tightly.

As the last rays of sunlight streamed in through the window, the touch-up was just finished. Ji Qingyu let Fu Han hug her for a while, then pushed Fu Han away: "That's enough, you've hugged me long enough. I'm going to wipe you down with alcohol, it might hurt a lot. I'm sorry I scratched you several times. Also, I have something to tell you."

Fu Han grabbed Ji Qingyu's head from behind, pressing his fingers against her hair to stop her from leaving, and then he lowered his head to kiss her.

Fu Han was drenched in sweat, and Ji Qingyu's earlobes ached. Finding herself unable to break free, Ji Qingyu simply let Fu Han have his way. The ferocious beast became even more terrifying, lifelike, as if it could leap out at any moment to take a life. Majestic and invincible, it was exactly like Fu Han.

“Fu Han… listen to me, I have something to tell you.” Ji Qingyu repeated.

If he had any hesitation before getting the tattoo, now, exhausted and tightly embracing his partner, Ji Qingyu was even more determined to have an open and honest conversation with Fu Han. He thought he should try again and give each other another chance.

But before he could speak, Fu Han shoved alcohol and gauze into his hand: "Disinfect first."

"Okay...I'll tell you while I'm disinfecting..."

Fu Han lowered his gaze to look at Ji Qingyu, who was gently wiping his chest. He slowly opened a drawer and tossed out a familiar cell phone.

Fu Han didn't speak, and Ji Qingyu looked at the phone. The two of them fell silent again.

Fu Han opened his phone; the photo album was filled with important documents. Ji Qingyu remembered checking it; there shouldn't have been anything on the phone. His heart tightened, and the alpha slowly squeezed the back of his neck: "I need an explanation."

Ji Qingyu shut his mouth; he suddenly didn't want to say anything more.
