Chapter 20 Tragedy

Since it's a private residence and they weren't planning to rent it out, all the staircases in the building are connected to the living room.

Jiang Wu stood at the corner of the third-floor staircase, just about to secretly observe the situation on the third floor.

As it happened, a burly man also walked to the stairwell and bumped into Jiang Wu on the spot.

The two of them stared at each other in bewilderment.

The burly man was startled.

Before he could make any move, Jiang Wu had already reacted and took a step forward.

He struck the burly man hard on the back of the neck with his right hand, hoping to knock him unconscious.

Jiang Wu learned this trick from TV, and he didn't know if it would work.

But in that instant, this was the only trick he could think of; he couldn't just kill the burly man directly.

Fortunately, the burly man seemed to have actually fainted, and then he just slumped softly to the ground.

Jiang Wu helped the burly man up and gently laid him on the ground.

Then he checked the strong man's breathing and found he wasn't dead, which put Jiang Wu at ease.

He had been a law-abiding citizen for over thirty years, and now that the apocalypse had only been over for a few days, he was still worried about accidentally killing someone.

Even if these people are likely to be scum.

After thinking for a moment, Jiang Wu untied the burly man's shoelaces and tied his hands together tightly.

Fearing it might not be safe, they also tied his feet up.

Only then did I feel relieved enough to walk inside.

A large fish tank serves as a foyer between the entrance staircase and the living room.

Jiang Wu crouched down and walked to the fish tank, peeking into the living room through the glass.

A man of medium build was tidying up things in front of the TV cabinet with his back to it.

A tall, muscular man with a tattoo on his neck stood by the window, looking out and smoking.

They didn't look like they had guns on them.

Jiang Wu breathed a sigh of relief and rushed forward, striking the man in front of the TV cabinet in the leg with a steel bar.

"ah!"

The man let out a scream and collapsed to the ground, unable to get up again.

The burly man by the window was also very perceptive; upon hearing the screams, he immediately grabbed the fire axe lying nearby.

He quickly turned around and looked at Jiang Wu.

Looking at Jiang Wu's sturdy body, and then at the pointed steel spear that Jiang Wu was holding.

The tattooed, burly man frowned and asked in a deep voice, "Brother, who are you?"

Jiang Wu was too lazy to waste words with him.

He kicked the man who was lying on the ground two meters away, causing the man to scream again.

Then he swung the spear directly from left to right at the tattooed man's arm.

The tattooed, burly man quickly dodged backward, then tried to rush over and kill Jiang Wu while he was retracting his spear.

However, he completely underestimated Jiang Wu, whose body had been enhanced by the genetic evolution matrix.

Just as the burly man leaned forward, preparing to charge, Jiang Wu, gripping the steel spear with both hands, lashed out at the man's right arm from the right.

Because Jiang Wu was so strong, the burly man lost his balance from the blow and was thrown onto the sofa on the left by the steel bar.

Jiang Wu glanced at the slightly bent steel bar, then lifted it up and smashed it down on the tattooed, burly man's right hand, which was holding an axe.

"ah!"

The tattooed man could no longer hold back and screamed, and the fire axe fell to the ground.

Jiang Wu showed no mercy, instead using a spear to pry the fire axe away, and then raised a steel bar and struck the strong man's legs and arms repeatedly.

He kept wailing.

Once he was sure the man was no longer able to resist, Jiang Wu walked over to the tattooed man.

They tore open a piece of clothing on the sofa and used it to tie up the tattooed man's hands and feet.

Only one other rather thin man remained.

As Jiang Wu approached, the man frantically begged for mercy, "Big brother! I promise I won't fight back, please don't hit me!"

Jiang Wu frowned, found a roll of wire in the TV cabinet, and tied the three of them up again.

They confirmed once again that none of the three had any other weapons on them.

Jiang Wu then went up to the room on the second floor where the woman was tied up.
