"You filthy woman, what nonsense are you spouting?" The burly, tall men's faces changed drastically upon hearing the woman in the red dress's accusation, and they roared in anger. They tried to step forward, but were forced to stop in their tracks, guns pointed at them by the surrounding soldiers and hunters.
"Whether I'm lying or not, you know in your hearts!" The woman in the red dress glared back at them without fear, her voice trembling but filled with determination. "Fairy, they are demons! Please, you must uphold justice for us!"
Chu Wanwan looked at the men with a cold gaze. In the apocalypse, the ugliness of human nature was magnified infinitely, and she had witnessed far too many such atrocities.
"Don't worry, I will seek justice for you." As soon as Chu Wanwan finished speaking, the kneeling women's eyes filled with gratitude.
"Thank you, fairy! You are our great benefactor!" The woman in the red dress knelt down again in gratitude, and the other women followed suit, expressing their deep gratitude to Chu Wanwan.
Chu Wanwan gently raised her hand, gesturing for them to stand up. Her gaze returned to the group of strong, tall men, her eyes revealing an undeniable authority.
"Do you have anything else to say?" Chu Wanwan's voice was not loud, but it carried an irresistible force.
The men exchanged bewildered glances, their expressions flustered. They tried to explain, but their words sounded so pale and powerless under Chu Wanwan's cold gaze.
"Gods, we have no choice in this! If we didn't eat human flesh, we would all be dead by now! If we are guilty, then many of you here are guilty. For three years, how many people have been lucky enough to hide in places with abundant food? How did they survive?"
One of the fat men stepped forward, pointed at the survivors, and sneered, "Gods, if we are guilty, then these people should all be killed!"
Chu Wanwan frowned, looking at the fat man with disgust. She understood the hardships of survival in the apocalypse, but that was no excuse for them to do whatever they wanted and lose their humanity.
"Your words are utterly absurd." Chu Wanwan's voice was as cold as ice. "Just because you're not in control of your own lives, does that give you the right to trample on the dignity and lives of others? Does that give you the right to treat the weak as food? Your behavior is no different from that of beasts!"
She looked around at the ragged survivors, their eyes filled with fear and hope. "I know that some of you have killed your own kind, whether by force or by choice. I cannot judge each one of you. But remember, heaven is watching. Your sins will be punished after you die! The eighteen levels of hell will atone for your sins, and in your next life you will be reborn as animals, as pigs or sheep, becoming food for others!"
Chu Wanwan's words struck people's hearts like a heavy hammer.
The survivors, who had committed atrocities in the apocalypse, turned pale with fear. If anyone else had told them that the dead would go to hell and suffer all kinds of torture, they might not have believed it. But the speaker was a god; how could they not believe, how could they not be afraid?
After Chu Wanwan finished speaking, she looked at the fat man and said, "As for what you said about 'being unable to control one's own destiny,' that cannot be an excuse for you to harm the innocent."
In this apocalyptic world, everyone is struggling to survive, but that doesn't mean you can lose your humanity and sacrifice the lives of others to save yourself.
You have chosen the most cruel and selfish path, and that is what makes you no different from beasts.
She looked around at the crowd again, her voice firm and powerful: "Today, I will seek justice for these victimized women. These men will receive the punishment they deserve."
They not only deprived these women of their dignity, but also cruelly murdered innocent people and even forced them to participate in this heinous crime. This is unforgivable!
Chu Wanwan waved her hand, and dark clouds quickly gathered in the sky, thunder rumbled, as if preparing for the impending trial. Everyone looked up at the sky, their faces showing a mixture of fear and awe.
"You must pay for the crimes you have committed with your blood!" Chu Wanwan's voice echoed amidst the thunder, sounding even more majestic and irresistible.
The several strong, tall men were now deathly pale, and they ran as fast as they could into nearby buildings, hoping to escape divine punishment.
Seeing this, Chu Wanwan's lips curled into a cold smile. She waved her hand again, and several bolts of lightning ripped through the sky, striking the men directly. They screamed in terror, but the lightning was too fast for them to dodge. The lightning struck them, instantly knocking them to the ground and turning them into charred remains.
The woman in the red dress and the other victims watched this scene with deep satisfaction in their eyes. They knew that these men had finally received their due punishment.
"Thank you, God, for getting justice for us!"
"Thank you, God!"
"..."
The woman in the red dress was the first to kneel down, sobbing uncontrollably as she expressed her gratitude to Chu Wanwan. The other victims followed suit.
"Get up, all of you!" Chu Wanwan's voice was gentle yet firm. "The past is the past. What's important is that you bravely face the future."
Chu Wanwan's words warmed everyone's hearts. They all stood up, wiped away their tears, and their eyes revealed an unprecedented determination.
"We will, thank you, God," the woman in the red dress replied on behalf of everyone.
"Don't call me a deity from now on. My name is Chu Wanwan. You can call me by my name directly, or you can call me God Chu, just like the people in the base." Chu Wanwan said with a smile, "It's getting late, let's go back to the base now!"
As Chu Wanwan spoke, she was the first to board the military truck. The others followed suit.
Since most of the strange beasts in the vicinity had been cleared out, on Chu Wanwan and her group's way back to the city, some armed hunters emerged from their hiding places and attacked.
