In one of the rooms, Chu Wanwan saw Zhuge Ming baring his teeth and cursing.
A maid was kneeling on the ground, trembling as she applied ointment to Zhuge Ming.
Because of her nervousness, the maid applied the medicine a little too heavily, which enraged Zhuge Ming. He kicked the maid and roared, "You wretched servant, do you want to kill me with pain?"
The maid was kicked to the ground, and she kowtowed repeatedly in terror, begging for mercy: "Young master, spare my life! Young master, spare my life!"
Zhuge Ming, however, was relentless. He picked up a whip and lashed the maidservant repeatedly.
The little maid screamed in pain, her voice sounding particularly shrill in the quiet room.
Seeing this, Chu Wanwan was furious. She rushed into the house, snatched the whip from Zhuge Ming's hand, and threw it hard on the ground.
Zhuge Ming was startled by this sudden turn of events. When he saw that the newcomers were Chu Wanwan and Si Mingye, his face showed fear, but it quickly turned into anger: "You two villains, you killed my father and made me unable to be a man! I'll fight you to the death! Guards! Kill these two!"
Zhuge Ming roared, but no one answered from outside the door.
"Are you calling them?" Chu Wanwan and Si Mingye stepped aside and saw that the two guards at the door had fallen to the ground, unconscious.
Zhuge Ming's eyes widened, his face filled with disbelief. He retreated in terror until his back hit the wall, leaving him nowhere to go.
A foul-smelling liquid was flowing from between her legs. Only then did Chu Wanwan realize that Zhuge Ming was not wearing anything on his lower body, and his pale thighs were exposed through the opening of his long robe.
Si Mingye moved even faster, pulling Chu Wanwan's head into his arms, then swung his sword, the sword energy directly slicing Zhuge Ming's neck.
Zhuge Ming's eyes widened, a gurgling sound came from his throat, and then his body slowly collapsed.
"Ah!" The little maid screamed in terror at the sight.
Chu Wanwan casually flicked her sleeve, and the little maid fainted.
"Let's go, let's continue searching for evidence."
As Chu Wanwan spoke, she walked straight out of the courtyard without turning her head...
Si Mingye followed closely behind Chu Wanwan, and the two continued their meticulous search of the city lord's mansion. They left no corner unchecked, thoroughly searching every room that might hold evidence.
In a study, they finally discovered the crucial evidence.
A box full of account books detailed the city lord's embezzlement and bribery, as well as some letters about his collusion with officials in the court. Si Mingye and Chu Wanwan exchanged a glance, their eyes showing surprise.
"The city lord of Youzhou is actually a member of Prince Rui's faction. All the embezzled silver was secretly sent to Prince Rui's residence?"
After reading some of the letters, Chu Wanwan frowned.
"This matter is of utmost importance. Prince Rui is ambitious, and if it is not handled properly, I'm afraid the peace of this world will not last long."
Si Mingye frowned as he put the letter back into the envelope.
"It seems we can't hand this evidence over to the imperial envoy. We don't know much about this world, and if the imperial envoy is from Prince Rui's faction, this evidence will surely be destroyed."
Chu Wanwan nodded slightly and said, "Shall we go to the royal palace of the Great Jin Kingdom?"
"Yes! That's the only way!"
Si Mingye nodded in agreement.
They carefully put away the evidence and then quickly left the city lord's mansion.
The next morning, news of the murder of the city lord and his son spread throughout the streets and alleys of Youzhou City. Upon hearing the news, the people were initially shocked, but then they clapped and cheered.
They had long abhorred the evil deeds of the city lord and his son, and now that these two villains had been eliminated, they felt extremely pleased.
"I heard that yesterday, the young master of the city lord's mansion harassed the wife of a young couple on the street, and the wife's husband kicked him so hard that his manhood was broken. The city lord naturally wouldn't let the young couple go. He originally led his troops to capture the young couple, but who knew that he not only failed to catch them, but also lost his life on Lianli Mountain."
“I happened to be there yesterday. The two people were dressed in luxurious clothes, and both of them, male and female, were stunningly beautiful. How could such people be ordinary? I think they must be great heroes who roam the martial arts world.”
"No matter who it is, this is equivalent to ridding the people of Youzhou City of a scourge!"
"Alas... These two heroes killed the city lord, they're probably going to get into trouble! I hope they're safe and sound and nothing bad happens to them."
"..."
After several days of travel, Si Mingye and Chu Wanwan finally arrived in the capital of the Great Jin Kingdom a week later. The city's prosperity amazed them, but they had no time to appreciate it and headed straight for the imperial palace.
Outside the palace, the guards were tight. Si Mingye and Chu Wanwan exchanged a glance, then used their lightness skills to easily leap over the city wall and enter the palace.
Inside the palace, palaces stood in rows, and corridors meandered. They moved cautiously through them, searching for an opportunity to present their evidence to the emperor.
"Who goes there?" Suddenly, a master dressed in the uniform of the Imperial Guard rushed towards Si Mingye and Chu Wanwan.
Before it even got close, a burst of energy was already heading straight for Si Mingye's face.
Si Mingye's eyes narrowed, and he easily dodged the force of the attack. He looked at the Imperial Guard experts rushing towards him and said in a deep voice, "We have important matters to discuss with Your Majesty. This matter concerns the safety of the nation."
The imperial guard stopped in his tracks, scrutinizing Si Mingye and Chu Wanwan with wary expressions: "This is the imperial palace, how dare you trespass at will? What proof do you have that what you say is true?"
At this moment, a large number of imperial guards heard the commotion and surrounded Si Mingye and Chu Wanwan.
