Chapter 29: Spreading Rumors Again

The test results came out quickly, and Lin Ruanruan received her report card during the morning reading session.

"Oh my, Ruan-jie, how are your grades?" Fang Lan leaned over to look at Lin Ruan-ruan's report card.

"Fang Lan, am I dreaming?" Lin Ruanruan was quite surprised to see that she ranked fifth in her class and among the top 50 in the grade.

"Ouch~" Lin Ruanruan accused Fang Lan with tears in her eyes, "Why did you pinch me?"

Lin Ruanruan instinctively threw a punch.

Fang Lan laughed and dodged Lin Ruanruan's cat-like punch, "I'm just helping you confirm whether you were dreaming or not."

"I'm so great!" Lin Ruanruan clenched her fist, took a picture of her report card, and sent it to her dear dad and mom.

It seems that asking Fang Lan about science questions these past few days has yielded significant results. Lin Ruanruan's humanities score is quite good, while her science score is not so good, but still acceptable.

Thinking of this, Lin Ruanruan also leaned over to look at Fang Lan's grades, "Did you do very well on the test?"

Fang Lan handed the report card to Lin Ruanruan with feigned modesty, saying, "Don't be too obsessed with me, I'm just a legend."

Lin Ruanruan looked at it carefully several times, her mouth agape, "First place?!"

Lin Ruanruan's sudden silence drew the attention of the entire class. Her face flushed crimson, but it was no wonder she was surprised; Fang Lan wasn't just first in the class, he was first in the entire grade.

The students sitting around her all came over to look at Fang Lan's grades. "Wow, Fang Lan, you're amazing!"

"I always saw you playing around in class, how come you get such good grades?"

...

Lin Ruanruan was forced to stay inside and watch everyone greet Fang Lan. She was numb. She worked herself to death every day memorizing books and formulas, while Fang Lan only glanced at them and understood them all.

Life is as difficult as climbing to heaven.

Although Lin Ruanruan was numb, she was very good at comforting herself. Fang Lan was her friend, and having such a smart friend meant she could ask Fang Lan directly whenever she encountered something she didn't understand, without having to go to the teacher's office—that was fantastic!

Fang Lan is a blessing for those with social anxiety; she no longer has to awkwardly squeeze into the office with other classmates.

Meanwhile, the students in the top classes stared at the rankings in disbelief. Fang Lan had actually beaten everyone again in the opening test.

Last semester, they heard from their homeroom teacher that Fang Lan insisted on transferring to Class 13, and that her grades would drop within a month.

As a result, Fang Lan got first place in the final exam last semester. Since Fang Lan went to Class 13, she didn't have to attend the summer tutoring for the key classes. The homeroom teacher also said that Li Zihao from their class would definitely get first place this time.

As a result, Li Zihao came in second, while Fang Lan remained in first place.

Li Zihao wailed, "Why did I have to lose to a good-for-nothing gay guy?!"

He attended a summer course, but still lost to the naturally gifted Fang Lan.

When the girls around heard Li Zihao say that, they immediately got excited. After all, Fang Lan was quite handsome, and judging from Li Zihao's tone, he must know some inside information.

"Li Zihao, why did you say Fang Lan is gay?"

Li Zihao said weakly, "Let me make this clear first, I'm not discriminating against gay people. I'm just surprised that Fang Lan didn't pay attention in class, transferred to Class 13, and still got first place without attending any tutoring."

The girl who asked the question impatiently hit him on the head with the report card. "I asked you why you said Fang Lan is gay?"

Li Zihao: "Oh, I saw him and Xu Chaosheng, a senior in high school, having sex in the men's restroom last time I went to the restroom."

The girls around him had their eyes shining and were asking Li Zihao for details. Li Zihao honestly said, "It was Xu Chaosheng who pinned him against the wall, and Fang Lan stared wide-eyed with a shy look on her face! Don't ask me anymore, I need to go review my mistakes."

Li Zihao only had his own collection of wrong answers in his mind, while the girls present all imagined a 100,000-word novel that only 18-year-olds could read.

When word spreads from one person to ten, and from ten to a hundred, the story becomes quite exaggerated.

Lin Ruanruan was washing her hands in the restroom when she heard the girl next to her excitedly say, "Hey, I heard that the top student Fang Lan and the basketball prince Xu Chaosheng from the senior year had sex in the junior boys' restroom."

"Huh? Really? That's exciting?"

"Yes, someone saw it with their own eyes; it seems like the two of them talked for quite a while!"

"Wow, that's so exciting!!!"

Lin Ruanruan stared wide-eyed at her reflection in the mirror. What? Fang Lan and Xu Chaosheng had sex, and they'd been talking for a long time?

How could she not know?

Lin Ruanruan ran back to the classroom in terror. Had Fang Lan been raped by Xu Chaosheng? Was this why Fang Lan was so tired today that she secretly fell asleep during class?

"Hey, why did that beautiful woman run so fast?"

"Maybe it's sharing gossip?"

...

As soon as Lin Ruanruan entered the classroom, she shook Fang Lan, who was fast asleep, awake. Fang Lan asked groggily, "Um, Ruanruan, time for dinner?"

As she spoke, she stood up and walked towards the classroom exit, but Lin Ruanruan quickly grabbed her.

"When did Xu Chaosheng force himself on you?"

The sound was a little too loud, and Lin Ruanruan quickly covered her mouth, but it was too late.

The girls around her immediately started to cheer. Fang Lan was stunned for a while by the cheers before she realized what Lin Ruanruan had just said.

"Huh? What? Where did you hear that from?" Fang Lan's eyes widened. What did he mean by saying that he was raped by Xu Chaosheng?

The girl sitting next to them took out her phone and pointed it out to Fang Lan. Fang Lan looked at the group chat name and realized that her alternate account was the group owner. She quickly logged into her phone to check.

The more he looked, the darker his face became. "Li, Zi, Hao!"

He has traced the source; the story originated from the honors class, and the honors class said it was Li Zihao who told it.
