Chapter 9 The Pampered Little Rabbit

After Huo Xian came downstairs, Huo Qi greeted the two of them and went upstairs to get ready. When Huo Xian saw the things Lin Ruanruan had brought for her, her eyes couldn't help but glisten with tears.

Seeing Huo Xian's tearful expression, Lin Ruanruan suddenly felt a little flustered. "Xianxian, don't you like it? Or should I bring you something else next time?"

Huo Xian wiped away the tears and saw Lin Ruanruan looking at her with concern. She went straight up and hugged Lin Ruanruan, "Ruanruan, thank you, this is the first time I've received such a wonderful gift~ I love it."

She felt Lin Ruanruan's sincere emotions; Lin Ruanruan had truly shared what she considered the best with her.

Lin Ruanruan secretly breathed a sigh of relief. It was good that she didn't dislike it. Sure enough, her grandparents' local specialties were the best gift.

When Mr. and Mrs. Huo came down to eat, they saw two little girls chatting away in the restaurant.

Mrs. Huo immediately recognized her as the little girl who had defended Xianxian that day. Lin Ruanruan stood up quickly upon seeing Mrs. Huo, saying, "Hello, Auntie!"

Then she looked at Mr. Huo beside her and said, "Hello, Uncle~"

Mr. Huo nodded, thinking to himself that the little girl was quite cute.

Huo Xian, fearing that Lin Ruanruan would be nervous, quickly said, "Dad, Mom, this is my friend Lin Ruanruan."

Mrs. Huo smiled and said, "Did Ruan Ruan come here today specifically to play with Xian Xian?"

Lin Ruanruan nodded quickly.

At this moment, Huo Qi also finished packing and came down. Seeing this, he said, "Xiao Ruan arrived when I was jogging in the morning. She was carrying a bunch of local specialties, and her hands were all red from being tied up."

Huo Xian quickly took Ruan Ruan's hand, and sure enough, there were still marks on it, almost raw. Huo's mother also came over, "Oh dear, my child, it must have hurt terribly."

Seeing that Huo Xian's eyes were red, Lin Ruanruan said, "It doesn't hurt, it won't hurt, it'll be fine in a bit." She then secretly glared at Huo Qi.

Huo Qi wasn't annoyed. What power could a little rabbit's glare have? He chuckled and grabbed Lin Ruanruan's head. Lin Ruanruan immediately covered her head and ran away.

"Brother, don't bully Ruanruan." Huo Xian quickly stood in front of Lin Ruanruan.

"Is this bullying?" Huo Qi said, even though he had just patted Huo Qi's head. "This is bullying."

He directly messed up Huo Xian's hairstyle, which she had painstakingly styled for seeing Lin Ruanruan, turning it into a bird's nest. "Brother!!" Huo Xian was annoyed, finally aroused by the vitality of a young girl. She directly resisted and tried to jump up and mess up Huo Qi's hair.

Unfortunately, Huo Qi had been skilled in martial arts since childhood and was also very tall, so Huo Xian couldn't do anything about him. Lin Ruanruan watched in astonishment, thinking that these two siblings were too terrifying and should not be messed with.

From initial surprise to giggling with amusement at the sight of the three children, Mrs. Huo was amused by the lively scene that had never been seen in her home before.

Aqi has been independent since he was a child. When it was just him and Momo at home, he never paid attention to Momo, and Momo didn't dare to play with him.

Even now that he's grown up, he still presents himself as independent and outstanding in front of his parents. Xianxian is the same; due to her own experiences, although she's only 16, she's much quieter and more composed than her peers.

This was the first time their family had been so lively. Mr. Huo took a sip of hot tea, and a slight smile appeared on his lips.

Breakfast was served one by one amidst the playful banter of the group. As instructed by Huo's mother, they also prepared a portion of preserved eggs and sausages that Lin Ruanruan had brought.

Lin Ruanruan was delighted to see the food she had brought placed on the table. This was the harmonious scene that Huo Momo witnessed when she came downstairs.

When Lin Ruanruan saw Huo Momo come down, she pursed her lips; she didn't want to greet her. Just then, a white, translucent shumai with plenty of filling and a thin skin was placed in her bowl. "Try it quickly, our chef makes really good breakfasts."

Lin Ruanruan nodded quickly, "Thank you, Brother Huo!" She picked up her chopsticks and took a bite. The shumai was filled with meat, and the seasoning was just right. "Delicious~"

Huo Momo looked at Lin Ruanruan, who was happily eating, and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Lin Ruanruan, who was enjoying her meal, didn't want to pay any attention to Huo Momo. She wasn't going to be polite to someone who had bullied her.

"You..." Huo Momo was about to lash out when her father stopped her with a look.

Mr. Huo said sternly, "You are not allowed to be rude to the guests."

"Yes." Huo Momo lowered her head, her fingers clenched tightly.

"If you want to eat breakfast, come down early. Nobody will wait for you."

"I'll get up earlier from now on," Huo Momo said expressionlessly.

Huo Qicai ignored them and continued feeding the little white rabbit, saying, "Try this glutinous rice flavor, it's delicious too."

Lin Ruanruan obediently started eating, chewing with relish. It was so delicious and chewy!

So Huo Qi started picking up dumplings again, but his mother beat him to it, placing a plump, round shrimp dumpling into Lin Ruanruan's bowl. "Thank you, Auntie."

Mrs. Huo watched Lin Ruanruan eat happily, finding the way she ate quite appetizing.

Huo Xian followed closely behind, saying, "Ruan Ruan, the preserved eggs you brought are delicious too."

Ruan Ruan nodded proudly, "They were all made by Grandpa and Grandma, and they're so delicious. The cured pork ribs I brought are Grandpa's specialty."

“Then we must have a good taste,” Mrs. Huo said with a smile.

Huo Momo, who was listening nearby, sneered inwardly, "What a country bumpkin."

This meal broke the Huo family's rule of not speaking while eating, but everyone except Huo Momo thought it was very good.

Even Mr. Huo was influenced by seeing Lin Ruanruan eating so well that he drank an extra bowl of porridge.

After dinner, Mr. Huo said directly, "Qi doesn't need to come to the company with me today. Stay home and keep Ruan Ruan company." He had noticed that Huo Momo's expression was off earlier and was afraid that she would cause trouble again.

Lin Ruanruan was about to say no, but Huo Qi interrupted her, "No problem, I'll take the two little girls out to play today." He knew which one Huo's father didn't trust, but there was no need to worry, Huo Momo wouldn't be staying in this house for long.

After the meal, Huo Xian took Lin Ruanruan directly to Huo Qi's room. Why not Huo Xian's room? The reason is simple: Huo Xian didn't have Dafu there.

Huo Qi leaned against the door, watching Huo Xian swagger in and hand his cat to Lin Ruanruan.

Lin Ruanruan's eyes lit up; she had finally gotten to touch the legendary Dafu, plump and soft. Dafu felt comfortable being touched, unlike the struggle she had experienced with Huo Xian.

It found a comfortable spot in Lin Ruanruan's arms and curled up, enjoying the massage Lin Ruanruan was giving it.

Huo Qi watched this scene and found it quite amusing. The little rabbit touching Dafu was surprisingly well-behaved. It made him want to join in.
