Chapter 8 On Postpartum Care of Sows

"Huo Xian should be studying in her room right now. She actually gets up quite early every day." Huo Qi pushed the fruit plate he brought from the kitchen toward Lin Ruanruan and thoughtfully used a toothpick to pick up a piece of watermelon and hand it to her.

"Try it, it's grown in our own orchard, see if it suits your taste."

Lin Ruanruan nodded obediently and put the juicy watermelon slices into her mouth. The watermelon slices were the perfect size, one bite at a time. "Delicious, thank you."

"You and Huo Xian should be about the same age, so just call me brother like she does." Huo Qiyue found Lin Ruanruan increasingly adorable.

"Brother Huo." Lin Ruanruan obediently listened. Because of Huo Qi's thoughtful companionship, Lin Ruanruan classified Huo Qi as a good person in her heart.

"Mmm, good boy~" Huo Qi was satisfied. Unlike Huo Xian and Huo Momo's brother, this "Brother Huo" made him feel comfortable.

"You came so early today, are you really eager to see Huo Xian? She'll be so happy to know you came so early."

Lin Ruanruan, holding a toothpick, said apologetically, "It's my first time visiting a friend's house. I was so nervous that I couldn't sleep, so I came straight here. Is it really okay to come so early?"

Huo Qi reached out and took the toothpick from her hand, then forked a piece of pear and offered it to her. Lin Ruanruan obediently accepted it, saying, "Thank you, Brother Huo."

"What's wrong with you? I like you just the way you are. Have you had breakfast?"

Lin Ruanruan shook her head honestly; she hadn't had time to eat yet.

Huo Qi sat down directly on the same sofa as Lin Ruanruan, but there was still a distance between them.

He reached out and ruffled Lin Ruanruan's hair. "Then come eat with us later. Our chef is very good, especially the Cantonese dim sum. You can try it later."

Lin Ruanruan's eyes lit up, and she quickly nodded obediently, "Okay, okay!" The poor little rabbit hadn't yet noticed that someone was gradually shortening the safe distance for socially anxious people.

Huo Qi chuckled, "He's still a little foodie."

When Huo Xian came running down from upstairs, the two downstairs were already chatting happily. After Lin Ruanruan relaxed, Huo Qi told one joke after another, making Lin Ruanruan laugh.

Huo Xian walked over and asked, "What are you talking about?"

When Huo Qi saw her arrive, he felt a little dissatisfied for some reason. It wasn't that he was dissatisfied with her slow arrival, but rather that she had arrived too quickly.

Huo Qi said earnestly to Huo Xian, "We are seriously discussing a series of precautions regarding the postpartum care of sows."

...

Huo Xian: "Really?"

"Pfft..." Lin Ruanruan quickly covered her mouth when she saw that the two of them were looking at her.

Okay, it's fake. Huo Xian was speechless.
