Chapter 3: Let her suffer enough this time (1/2)

As soon as they left the airport living area, Zhou Xiaonian in her arms started coughing. Liang Guiying quickly patted her back with water to help her catch her breath, her heart clenching with worry.

Fortunately, after spitting out a few mouthfuls of water, Zhou Xiaonian stopped coughing for the time being. She stretched out her arms, wanting Zhou Yue to hold her, and the little girl cried like a kitten: "Mommy, hold me~~"

Liang Guiying first handed Zhou Xiaonian over to Zhou Yue, and then looked through Zhou Yue's luggage bag.

Inside, besides three sets of Zhou Xiaonian's clothes, there were also two sets of Zhou Yue's own clothes, and even two or three towels were stuffed in.

It seems that Zhou Yue, despite her panic, hasn't completely lost her mind; she has gathered most of the things she might need for hospitalization.

Liang Guiying first handed Zhou Xiaonian's clothes to Zhou Yue, indicating that Zhou Yue should change the child into them.

Then, Liang Guiying took a set of Zhou Yue's clothes. She first put the dry clothes over the wet clothes, then pulled off the wet clothes underneath. Since she couldn't pull the pants off directly, she just put them on over the clothes.

Zhou Yue was also helping Xiao Nian change her clothes, but it wasn't going smoothly.

The pullover T-shirt that could usually be easily taken off by raising both hands became difficult to remove after getting wet, clinging tightly to the skin. Zhou Yue was also nervous, and in her haste, the shirt got stuck on Zhou Xiaonian's head.

Zhou Xiaonian was so upset that she started to cry.

Liang Guiying immediately picked up Zhou Xiaonian and quickly helped her change her clothes.

It was already six o'clock in the evening, and the streets were full of people hurrying home.

A gentle breeze blew by in May, carrying a hint of coolness amidst the heat. Zhou Xiaonian, who was in her arms, suddenly clutched her clothes tightly.

The child is scared.

The child felt safer in her mother's arms after being frightened, but when Liang Guiying looked up, she saw Zhou Yue crying again, so she gave up the idea.

A woman who is only 21 years old has experienced a divorce and her child falling into the water in just a few hours. Given Zhou Yue's personality, it is already remarkable that she has managed to hold on until now without fainting.

It was her scumbag son who brought Zhou Yue and her daughter to this state; Liang Guiying had no face to blame Zhou Yue.

Liang Guiying rummaged through Zhou Yue's luggage and found a towel, handing it to Zhou Yue: "Wipe your face, don't scare Niannian."

Zhou Yue immediately turned her back to calm herself down.

Liang Guiying sighed and looked down at Zhou Xiaonian.

The little girl was so thin that she barely had any flesh on her body, and her hair was dry and yellow; she was clearly malnourished.

It's pitiful that a child from the city, whose parents have stable incomes, has been raised like this!

The little girl was not even two years old. Children forget things easily. After the initial fear subsided, she felt safe when Liang Guiying held her tightly in her arms, and she stopped crying.

Liang Guiying is 43 years old and lives in Sizhou Village, which is dozens of kilometers away from Jiangcheng. It takes a long time to walk along mountain roads and take a ferry.

With so much work to do at home, and Zheng Fangshu saying that her fierce appearance would frighten Zhou Yue, Liang Guiying couldn't come too often. After taking care of Zhou Yue during her postpartum period, she would only come about once every six months, and each time she came to the city, it was always a quick trip, never staying overnight.

The last time she came was when the little girl was one year old. After a brief visit, Liang Guiying left again.

So Zhou Xiaonian had no idea who Liang Guiying was at this moment, and just stared at Liang Guiying curiously, blinking his big eyes.

Liang Guiying hugged her tighter, her voice as soft as possible: "Niannian, I'm your grandma."

"grandmother?"

Zhou Xiaonian tilted her head in confusion, then, as if struck by a sudden thought, she cheered and called out in a clear voice, "Grandma!"

"Why!"
