Chapter 30 Planning for the Daughter-in-Law (2/2)

“She’s not a cleaner, not a cafeteria worker, not a ground crew member, and not an air traffic controller.” Liang Guiying said each word carefully. “I hope Zhou Yue can become an excellent captain like her father. I think that’s also her father’s expectation for her.”

Zhong Bo paused in his act of biting the cigarette.

"Uncle Zhong, if you have a way, please help her. Consider it as repaying Zhou Cheng'an for saving her life."

Liang Guiying knew very well that she had only been reborn, not that she had gained omnipotent abilities. She was still a rural woman with limited knowledge and narrow vision.

Someone like her can only earn a little money to help Zhou Yue with small things in life; she can't help Zhou Yue with anything about her future.

Therefore, Liang Guiying had no choice but to bring up Zhou Cheng'an to morally blackmail Zhong Bo.

As long as Zhou Yue's life can be put back on track, as long as Zhou Yue can soar into the blue sky, she doesn't mind being a villain or a bad person. She doesn't care what others think of her; she will bear all the infamy.

She has already lived once, so there's nothing she can't understand or bear.

Uncle Zhong stared at her for a long time, still holding his cigarette, before finally taking it down: "Is this your idea, or Zhou Yue's own dream?"

“Dreams?” Liang Guiying smiled bitterly. “She lost her parents when she was five years old and has lived under the beatings and abuse of Aunt Si ever since. It’s a luxury for her to avoid being beaten. How could she dare to have dreams? Uncle Zhong, please help this poor child. I’m begging you!”

Uncle Zhong lifted her up: "I'll handle Zhou Yue's matter. I'll let you know when I have news. Also, you need to be prepared for Zhou Yue to disappear in Jiangcheng."

Liang Guiying almost knelt down before Uncle Zhong: "Uncle Zhong, thank you! On behalf of Zhou Yue, thank you!"

For the next three or four days, Liang Guiying was busy at home and carried Zhou Xiaonian around Jiangcheng looking for business opportunities. When it was almost time, she would go to the cotton mill to pick up Zhou Yue.

Relationships are built through spending time together.

On a stormy night, Liang Guiying came in and slept with Zhou Yue. In a dead end, Liang Guiying appeared again to protect Zhou Yue. With the help of the pick-up and drop-off service over the past few days and the time they spent together, Zhou Yue had lowered her guard against Liang Guiying.

She knew that Liang Guiying genuinely cared for her.

Liang Guiying came to pick up Zhou Yue again on her tricycle.

Lin Shuxian said with envy, "Zhou Yue, your mother-in-law is so good to you."

Zhou Yue replied with a smile, "It's all thanks to you."

She waved and walked towards Liang Guiying, first putting Niannian down from Liang Guiying's back, and then opened her mouth.

Liang Guiying seemed to know her inside and out: "Just call me Grandma like Niannian does."

Zhou Yue paused for a moment, then said, "Grandma Niannian, let's go home!"

It was already mid-June, and the weather was getting hotter and hotter. After dinner, the family of three enjoyed the cool air in the yard.

Zhou Xiaonian laid all her plush toys out on the floor—two days ago, Liang Guiying took her to the department store and bought four more, bringing her total to six plush toys now.

The little girl was talking to her plush toy in a childlike voice, each word serious yet utterly amusing.

The two adults were chatting.

Liang Guiying told Zhou Yue where she took Niannian to play, whose child Niannian played well with, and whose child gave Niannian candy.

Zhou Yue then told Liang Guiying about things at the factory, how Lin Shuxian tested her, and how she managed to keep her calm.

Zhou Yue remembered something and told it as a joke: "Oh, and another thing, I was almost bullied that day. Some people said it was because I'm too pretty, and that I deserved to be bullied."

Is it because she's too pretty that she deserves to be bullied?

Just as Liang Guiying was about to speak, two uninvited guests suddenly appeared outside the door.
