Chu Yaofeng lowered his handsome face and just smiled at her, not intending to let go. Gu Li was anxious and struggled but could not break free. She could only push against his chest, but unfortunately, she was no match for him. She was exhausted and sweating, but she still could not escape his grip.
"What exactly do you want?" she asked angrily, glaring at him.
Chu Yaofeng still had that irritating, mocking look on his face. "I want you to give me an explanation."
"I have no ulterior motives towards you. I came to your company for an interview because a friend recommended me; I never expected to get the job," Gu Li said truthfully.
He had no doubt at all, because it was clear from her interview that she really didn't want to stay at LB. However, after hearing her explanation, he was even more determined to keep her. "You want to go to Gu's, right?"
Gu Li's eyes widened, and like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, she immediately bristled, "It's none of your business."
Damn it, will he suspect something?
"What a pity." That good-for-nothing Gu Ziqian is not fortunate enough to enjoy it. Even God is on his side, isn't he?
Chu Yaofeng curled the corners of his lips, looking at Gu Li's face, which was flushed red, like a ripe apple, tempting one to pick it. He couldn't help but swallow hard, wanting to kiss her.
"What do you want?" Gu Li saw him staring at her intently, his eyes gleaming with a suggestive light, clearly up to no good. She struggled a few times, "Let me go."
Chu Yaofeng looked at her with amusement, "What are you afraid of?"
"I..." Of course, she was afraid of him being a beast. Gu Li kept a cold face, knowing that he asked that on purpose. If she told the truth, this bastard would definitely smear her, and she wasn't that stupid.
"Hmm?" He waited patiently for her answer.
"I'm afraid of what people will say," Gu Li thought of a compromise.
Chu Yaofeng widened his smile, "It's just you and me here."
The word "I" had just fallen when, with a ding, the two looked in the direction of the sound and saw the elevator doors slowly open. A stunningly handsome man in a pink shirt and tight jeans stood in the elevator, carrying two plastic bags.
"Hey, Yaofeng, I bought you food." He proudly displayed two bags in front of them with a big smile.
Gu Li had already broken free from Chu Yaofeng's grasp while he was distracted, and was now keeping a step's distance from him, her glasses quickly put back on her face.
She turned away uninterestedly, saying, "You guys eat, I'm not hungry."
She flew back to her office like a whirlwind, her heart still pounding as she sat down. If it weren't for Max's sudden intrusion, she really wouldn't know how to get rid of Chu Yaofeng's entanglement.
This is only the first day! I'll have to face Chu Yaofeng every day from now on. What am I going to do?
"Did I interrupt your good time?" Maxi asked, as if realizing something as Gu Li ran away faster than a rabbit.
Chu Yaofeng glared at him, snorted coldly, said nothing, and turned back to his office.
Maxi followed closely behind, sticking his butt out as he closed the office door before asking, "I ran into Amei and the others downstairs. What's wrong with them today? They didn't take the elevator and opted for the stairs. I thought the elevator was broken, I was so scared! I bought you some food, eat it while it's hot."
After saying that, Maxi took a boxed lunch, turned around, and went out.
Chu Yaofeng watched Mai Siqi's departing figure, his brows furrowing almost imperceptibly. He then turned around, picked up the landline on the table, and made a call.
