At this time, Shi Chan arrived at a remote town in the western part of the Central Plains. He learned that the townspeople were suffering from the ravages of the demon race and were discussing leaving the place where they had been born and raised, but were extremely reluctant to do so. Shi Chan immediately went to the outskirts of the town without hesitation. Guided by the townspeople, he came to a mountain range outside the town.
This mountain range runs east to west, stretching for dozens of miles. It is gentle and low, neither a famous mountain nor a blessed land. Therefore, when Shi Chan arrived here, he couldn't help but wonder why the demons had occupied such a place.
Shi Chan searched the entire mountain range and found several man-made cave entrances. Later, he discovered traces of demons on a small hill in the middle of the mountain range.
Shi Chanyin secretly observed from high above and saw that there was also a cave entrance on the small mountain where the demons gathered. There were more than a dozen demons sitting or standing outside the cave entrance, laughing and talking loudly, and the noise could be heard far away.
After a while, demons began to file out of the cave, each carrying a piece of iron stone of varying sizes. The iron stone was dark black and faintly glowed red.
The iron stone seemed extremely heavy. Those who carried it were all rugged-looking, tall, and strong men, but they looked like they were struggling to hold the iron stone, which was not that big.
“Mysterious Iron!” Shi Chan’s body, which was floating in the air, swayed slightly, and his eyes narrowed slightly.
After the group of burly men left the cave, they handed the stones in their arms to the demons outside the cave. The demons were then responsible for classifying these boulders according to their content of black iron, and then storing the iron stones in individual storage rings.
Upon seeing this, Shi Chan lowered his eyes and pondered for a moment, deciding to return to the temple to report the matter to his teachers. Suddenly, a jumble of voices arose from the ground, shouting, "Look! There's a monk in the sky!!"
"Oh no!"
"Stop that monk quickly and kill him!"
Startled, Shi Chan immediately turned and flew forward, but he was stopped by more than ten demons after flying only a dozen feet. More demons, having received the news, rushed out of the mine and joined in the encirclement of Shi Chan.
In the blink of an eye, the number of demons surrounding Shi Chan increased to over a hundred.
"Kill him! We absolutely cannot let him leak what's going on here!" The leader of the hundred or so demons shouted coldly.
Shi Chan knew something was wrong. A golden light flashed on his body, and the Seven Treasures Kasaya was already on his body. With a thought, the seven treasure stones on the kasaya detached from the kasaya and shot off in all directions.
The demons surrounding Shi Chan hurriedly dodged the Seven Treasure Stones and scattered. Shi Chan found an opening and was about to escape when the demons immediately surrounded him again, taking out their weapons and attacking him without hesitation.
The Seven Treasure Stones, having reached the outer edge of the demons, shot forward a short distance before returning at the same speed. Some demons, hearing the whooshing sound, quickly dodged, while others, focused intently on attacking Shi Chan, didn't hear the noise. Consequently, some were struck by the Seven Treasure Stones, causing the crowd to scream in pain. Although the stones wouldn't kill them, the areas struck were extremely sore and uncomfortable.
The seven precious stones flew back and landed on the kasaya, causing the kasaya to shine with golden light. Shi Chan used the golden light of the kasaya to protect himself, then threw the Zen Purification Beads out of his hand. The Zen Purification Beads spun rapidly, each bead's swastika symbol glowing brightly. Then, one by one, the swastika symbols flew out from the Zen Purification Beads, instantly transforming into tiny Buddhist artifacts, which faced the numerous demons.
Although there were many swastikas and numerous Buddhist artifacts that transformed into them, the number of demons was even greater. Shi Chan was surrounded, with some demons entangled in battle with the Buddhist artifacts, while many more demons swung their weapons directly at Shi Chan.
With nowhere to dodge, in the blink of an eye, all sorts of weapons—knives, spears, swords, halberds—struck down on Shi Chan. Shi Chan took the blow head-on, and the light from his seven-jeweled kasaya suddenly shone brightly, blocking all the weapons.
Even though the robe blocked the sharp edges of the weapons, there were simply too many weapons. The magic power on them struck Shi Chan through the robe, causing Shi Chan to feel a tightness in his chest and spit out a mouthful of blood.
Ignoring the pain all over his body, Shi Chan hurriedly summoned all kinds of Buddhist artifacts to fight the demon in front of him, while also urging the seven precious stones on his kasaya to shoot in all directions once again.
While the demons were busy splitting the Buddha's treasures, they were also busy dodging the attacks of the Seven Treasure Stones. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Shi Chan hurriedly descended and landed on the ground.
He crashed to the ground like a meteorite, lunging forward as if trying to hide in the forest, but in the blink of an eye, the demons descended upon him.
Among the hundred or so demons, one expert at the Demon Heart Realm flashed in front of Shi Chan and sneered, "Trying to run? Dream on!"
He tossed the pair of sharp daggers in his hand, then gripped them in his other hand and rushed toward Shi Chan.
At this moment, the Seven Treasure Stones and many Buddhist artifacts in the sky all flew back, followed closely by a group of demons who landed and surrounded Shi Chan once again.
The demon wielding the dagger was extremely skilled and fast. He rushed to Shi Chan's side with a trail of afterimages, and with a backhand slash, a sharp dagger flashed towards Shi Chan's neck.
Shi Chan was shocked and quickly moved to the left to dodge. But immediately a giant axe came crashing down on his head, and a heavy meteor hammer struck his back at the same time, not to mention countless other weapons that were further away.
Shi Chan frowned, realizing there was no way to avoid it and he was about to die at the hands of these people.
Suddenly, a shrill female voice rang out from the sky, hysterically shouting, "Stop! All of you, stop!"
