Chapter 185 Alienation

Upon hearing the sound, Shi Chan's heart trembled. His steps faltered for a moment as he prepared to dodge, then he immediately took a step forward, narrowly avoiding the giant axe's blow. The meteor hammer, however, struck him squarely in the back. Although the Seven Treasures Kasaya mitigated most of the attack's force, the meteor hammer was far too heavy, especially since it had been imbued with demonic power. The blow caused Shi Chan to stagger forward several steps, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

The voice, which had been coming from afar, grew closer. Now, filled with anger, it roared, "Didn't you all hear me?! Stop it all!! If any of you hurt the little monk, don't blame me for being impolite!!"

Before the words had even finished, a beam of white light descended from the sky and landed behind Shi Chan. Liu Li emerged from the white light, back to back with Shi Chan, and with her arms outstretched, she blocked all the weapons that were about to strike him.

"Stop it, all of you!" A male voice boomed from the air, "Don't hurt Liuli!!"

The voice finally silenced the demons, and all the weapons that were about to strike were withdrawn. The wind generated by the weapons swept all of Liuli's hair back.

Her hair gently flew past Shi Chan's neck, bringing a ticklish sensation as it brushed against his cheek.

The demons put away their weapons and retreated, still forming a circle around Liuli and Shichan.

Then four more beams of light descended in succession, revealing the figures of Li Molin, Yu Ke, Ji Jue, and the two demons, Ahua and Langyuan. Ahua was standing on Li Molin's shoulder, looking at Liuli with concern.

Liuli turned and walked around to stand in front of Shichan. At that moment, Shichan was bowing his head deeply, his face was terribly pale, and there was blood on his lips. Liuli frowned and asked with concern, "Little monk, are you alright?"

Liuli's voice, filled with heartache, stirred Shichan's usually calm heart. His eyelashes trembled, and his breath hitched. After a moment of silence, he took a deep breath, looked up, and said indifferently, "Thank you for your concern, young lady. I am fine."

Shi Chan's indifferent tone made Liu Li feel a pang of sadness. In the past ten years, she had only seen Shi Chan a few times when the rare treasure was born, but each time they met, it was accompanied by a great battle between the righteous and demonic forces, and Shi Chan deliberately kept his distance from her. They had never even exchanged a few complete words.

Ten years have passed. More than once, during sleepless nights, Liuli has thought of Shichan, and a strange feeling arises within her—a feeling containing longing and yearning, along with a slight desire and impulse to see him immediately. As these moments and feelings have become more frequent, Liuli begins to realize that perhaps this is… love. Just as the phantom spirit in the illusion said, she feels that she loves him.

Li Molin withdrew his gaze from Liuli and Shichan, looked at the man in the Demon Heart Realm, and asked in a low voice, "What's going on?"

The man replied, "This monk has discovered a mine... Young Master, we cannot let him leave."

Li Molin paused for a moment, then helplessly turned his gaze to Liuli. He knew very well that with Liuli around, how could they possibly kill Shi Chan?

After a moment of silence, Li Molin became furious. His face darkened, and he asked angrily, "How did this monk discover the mine? Didn't I tell you to behave yourselves and not provoke the local people?"

"This..." The man was speechless for a moment, stammering and unable to speak.

Li Molin sneered and said, "What, speechless now? Fine, I'll speak for you. Is it because you've been harassing the local people that this monk came to exorcise the demons and protect the righteous path? Don't you know how important this mine is to my demon race? Can't you be a little more restrained? Hmm?"

Seeing Li Molin's anger, the man felt a little guilty, but he really couldn't understand why Li Molin was so angry. So he directly voiced his doubts, saying cautiously, "Young Master, we know we were wrong. But Young Master, there's no need to be angry. There's only one monk here; we just need to kill him. I assure you, Young Master, that from now on, I will absolutely order my people to mine the black iron honestly and not go out to cause trouble!"

Li Molin gave him a cold look and then turned his gaze to Shi Chan and Liu Li.

Looking at Shi Chan's pale face, Liu Li reached out her small hand involuntarily and gently wiped the blood from his lips. She said with heartache, "But I saw such a big hammer hit you. How could you be alright? Little monk, tell me if you feel unwell. Don't force yourself."

A warm little hand gently brushed across his lips, and a familiar fragrance wafted into his nostrils, sending a shiver down his spine. Shi Chan's cheeks flushed, and his breathing became erratic, rapid, and flustered.

He took a step back, distancing himself slightly from Liuli, bowed in a Buddhist gesture, and said with his palms together, "Thank you, young lady. You need not worry, this humble monk is unharmed."

Although Liuli disliked Shichan's aloofness towards her, she was helpless. She pouted, glanced around at the tense atmosphere among the many demons, then looked at Shichan and asked in a low voice, "Little monk, have you discovered a mine?"

“Yes,” Shi Chan nodded in response.

Liuli frowned and muttered to herself, "This is going to be difficult..."

Shi Chan raised his eyes and glanced at Liu Li, his gaze filled with lingering affection. After a moment, he lowered his head and said in a distant tone, "Miss, you don't need to be troubled. Whether I can escape today or not, it's all my fate. After all, you are in the Demon Clan's camp, so you don't need to protect me."

"Never mind, never mind..." Liuli frowned and thought for a while, then whispered, "Little monk, you run quickly, I'll hold them off for you."
