The group arrived at Fox Plains. Because of the rain, all the white foxes were hiding in caves in the mountains. Liuli led them directly to a warm cave.
The cave wasn't large, about 1.5 meters deep, and it widened as you walked in, reaching a maximum width of about 1 meter. It was late autumn outside, and it was getting quite cold when it rained, but a fire was burning inside the cave, making the whole cave warm and cozy.
The six-tailed white fox, lying on a pile of hay, looked up at the sound with great surprise. She stood up and looked at the middle-aged man, asking in confusion, "Brother Shengyang, what brings you here?" As she spoke, she glanced at Li Molin and the others, her eyes darkening.
The middle-aged man chuckled and said, "I've come today at Young Master Li's invitation to act as your advocate, Yingmo."
Upon hearing this, the six-tailed white fox Sakura's eyes darkened even further.
She looked back and forth between the faces of everyone in the cave, pondered for a long time, and then said in a deep voice, "Liuli, you take the Demon Clan's young master and the others to wait outside the cave first."
Her glassy eyes darted around a few times before she replied softly, "Yes, Grandmother."
She turned and walked towards Li Molin, saying, "Let's go."
Li Molin glanced at Yingmo, then at Shengyang, who nodded slightly. He hesitated for a moment, then looked at Liuli and nodded, saying, "Okay."
The group quickly emerged from the cave. Yingmo lay back down on the hay, her eyes half-closed, and said softly, "Brother Shengyang, you're foolish! Don't you know the true nature of the demons? Forming an alliance with them is like asking a tiger for its skin!"
Sheng Yang sat down against the cave wall, gave a bitter smile, and shook his head, saying, "I also thought about it for a long time before agreeing to join the Demon Clan. Yingmo, you haven't heard, have you? Many days ago, a human mistakenly entered Qilin City, and Ji Ying had no choice but to order that human to be killed... Yingmo, have you ever thought that our peaceful life now is only because the humans haven't discovered us? But how long can we keep it a secret?"
"Perhaps you and I can live out our lives in peace, but what about our children and grandchildren?"
"Since ancient times, although the human race is weak, it has the strongest reproductive ability. But what about us? It has taken nearly 10,000 years for the four races to recuperate and grow before we have reached our current situation."
"If our place of refuge is discovered by the human race, we will never have peace. The human cultivators will never tolerate us."
"After much deliberation, even if the demons are selfish and ruthless, we... ultimately have no other choice..."
As soon as he finished speaking, the cave remained silent for a long time. Yingmo lowered her eyes, leaving only a slit, and a hint of sadness could be seen in her deep black eyes.
Sheng Yang turned to look at her, coughed lightly, and said in a deep voice, "Besides, the young master of the Demon Clan said that they are willing to make a 'Chi You Blood Oath' with us, promising to give us a stable life after the matter is accomplished... Just agree, Ying Mo."
After another long silence, Yingmo slowly raised her head and said softly, "Never mind, Brother Shengyang, I believe you and my Nine-Tailed Fox Clan are of one mind, and I also believe you would never harm me..."
After a pause, she called out, "Liuli, come in!"
Outside the cave, Liuli listlessly looked up at the fine rain falling, while Li Molin leaned against the mountain wall, staring intently at her, his eyes shrouded in mist. Strangely, her slender figure often appeared before him, especially her mischievous smile, her eyes narrowed into crescents, revealing a cunning glint. Whether he was lost in thought, in the still of the night, or in the quiet of his dreams, she always appeared before him, impossible to shake off. What frustrated him most was thinking of her while cultivating; it always disturbed his peace of mind and hindered his progress.
Hearing Yingmo call her name, Liuli snapped out of her reverie. Her eyes darted around a few times before she leaned close to Li Molin and whispered, "Hey, Grandmother won't let me stay in here. I can't even speak up if I wanted to. So, what about what you promised me..."
At that moment, Li Molin was in a daze when Liuli suddenly leaned close to him. He snapped out of his daze and asked hesitantly, "What did you say?"
Liuli pouted and said unhappily, "I said it was Grandmother who wouldn't let me stay inside, so I couldn't speak up for you. Don't blame me for that. Do you still stand by your promise to me?"
Li Molin smiled slightly and nodded lightly, saying, "As long as your grandmother agrees to form an alliance with my demon clan, I will take you out." He hadn't really expected her to be of any help; he just knew she longed for the outside world and wanted to find an excuse to help her.
Upon hearing this, Liuli was overjoyed. She didn't find Li Molin so annoying anymore. She turned around and walked into the cave, saying with a smile, "Let's go, Grandmother is calling us."
Li Molin looked at his dozen or so followers and said, "You all stay here and guard this place."
The dozen or so followers nodded in agreement, and Li Molin turned and walked into the cave.
