Lingxi shook her head and said, "It's not something that can be done overnight to turn my sister back to her original appearance. If you stay here, my sister will kill you sooner or later. If you leave, you might still have a chance."
Shi Chan lowered his eyes and pondered for a while, then hesitated and said, "But if I leave, won't they blame you?"
“It’s alright.” Lingxi shook her head and said, “No matter what, they won’t kill me. You can go. Monk, promise me, you must find a way to turn my sister back to her original appearance, you must.”
“I promise you, Lingxi.” Shi Chan said solemnly, “This will be the only thing I will do for the rest of my life. From now on, I will not practice Buddhism, nor seek to become a Buddha. I am willing not to save any people in the world. I will only save you, my lady!”

Lingxi nodded silently, watching Shichan walk into the courtyard, his tall, slender figure soon disappearing into the darkness.
Lingxi sighed softly, then walked out of the woodshed and silently headed towards the meditation room where she and Langyuan were resting.
