A short while later, Lang Yuan quietly opened the door and entered. He glanced down at Ling Xi, seeing that she was asleep, and a silent smile appeared on his lips. He turned and tiptoed to the bedside, took off his shoes, lay down fully clothed, closed his eyes, and soon fell into a deep sleep. He seemed extremely tired; his breathing was unusually steady, indicating that he was sleeping soundly.
Lingxi quietly opened her eyes and stared at Lang Yuan for a while. Seeing that he showed no signs of waking up, she silently stood up and lightly ran towards the door. Before she even reached the door, a wisp of white spiritual energy floated to the door and opened it a crack. She leaped forward and slipped through the crack. After she left, the door was silently closed again by the spiritual energy.
Lingxi searched the backyard for a while and finally found the woodshed in the far south corner. At that time, the door of the woodshed was ajar, and Ji Jue's deep snoring could be heard from inside.

Ji Jue patted Lingxi's head and chuckled, "Good Lingxi, good girl, I'm going to bed now!"
"Okay." Lingxi pulled her head back from Ji Jue's rough hand and quietly took two steps back.
Ji Jue nimbly got up, strode out of the room, and disappeared in no time.
Lingxi closed the door, walked back to Shichan, and obediently sat down cross-legged.
Shi Chan slowly opened his eyes, looking at Lingxi with gentle eyes. After thinking for a moment, he hesitated and said, "You're the tabby cat that was always following Miss Liuli, right? Your name is... Ahua?"
Lingxi's eyes lit up with sadness. She shook her head and said, "My name isn't Ahua, it's Lingxi."
"Alright." Shi Chan called out gently, "Lingxi, is there something you need?"
Lingxi stared into Shichan's gentle eyes and asked in a low voice, "Monk, do you know why my sister has become like this?"
A hint of sorrow appeared in Shi Chan's eyes. He nodded and said, "It's all because of this humble monk."
"It all started because of you," Lingxi said softly, "but it's not entirely because of you."
Shi Chan paused for a moment, then asked in confusion, "Why is that?"
Lingxi lowered her eyes, her long eyelashes obscuring the expression in them, and said softly, "That day you killed my sister, it was Young Master Li who used a soul-summoning spell to bring her back to life. The soul-summoning spell is a demon's artifact; it brought my sister back to life, but it only bestowed upon her all the negative emotions..."
