Chapter 1: Back to Where They Belong

At the airport, a girl wearing sunglasses and a mask, with headphones around her neck and long, flowing hair, emerged from the arrival gate. She carried a small suitcase, and her long, slender, white legs were captivating.

Passersby glanced at her, assuming she had bumped into a celebrity.

The girl stopped and adjusted her sunglasses.

“Young Miss.” A middle-aged man in a suit stood in front of her, his head slightly bowed.

Tang Wan took off her glasses and casually tucked them into her collar. The beauty mark under her peach blossom eyes made her even more beautiful.

"Are Father and Mother back?"

"Yes."

After hearing this, Tang Wan showed no joy or nervousness, as if the person who returned was a stranger to her.

"Butler Chen, remember to take the rest of the luggage."

"Yes, it will be delivered to your room shortly."

Tang Wan nodded, said no more, and went straight out of the airport. Butler Chen followed behind, not showing it on his face, but inwardly admiring Tang Wan's composure.

If he found out he was switched at birth while traveling, he'd definitely be distraught and rush to book a flight back. If any family could rival the Tang family, it wouldn't be so bad, but...

Thinking of this, Butler Chen looked at Tang Wan with a hint of pity. The poor child, she probably doesn't even know what she's about to face.

Tang Wan naturally sensed the gaze of Butler Chen, but she was too lazy to say anything. In fact, she not only felt no worry or pain, but also had the mood to continue traveling abroad. Only after the Tang couple returned did she leisurely book her flight back to China.

At the airport entrance, someone had already opened the car door and was waiting for her to get in. Tang Wan was used to this; after getting into the car, she put on her headphones. The car started smoothly and drove towards the Tang residence.

Tang Wan looked out the window at the scenery, her mood remaining calm. She was somewhat taken aback when she learned she wasn't the Tang couple's child, but more than that, she felt a sense of relief.

It wasn't that the Tang couple mistreated her; on the contrary, they never shortchanged her in terms of material things, and she had much more money to spend each month than other people her age and social circle. But her relationship with the Tang couple was limited to that.

It seems that the Tang couple had children solely to continue their family line and cultivate outstanding heirs. Having three children was simply to ensure that there were two heirs to choose from. If the second child were a boy, she would not exist at all.

They don't spend too much time and effort on their children; what they want, they have to earn through good grades. When their children reach the appropriate age, they are sent to top private academies abroad to expand their networks in a better language environment.

Fortunately, Tang Wan is a girl, so she can get what she wants without having to work hard. Unfortunately, her parents never paid attention to her, and even her birthday gifts were arranged by her assistant.

As a child, she studied hard to get her parents' attention like her older and younger brothers, but she never received the same praise as them; she chose to fall into depravity, but this change didn't even pose a threat to them.

They won't change because of her change.

Then she realized that she was unnecessary. Her only purpose was to find a suitable person to marry after she came of age, thereby ensuring the prosperity of the Tang family.

The real heiress is back, that's great. Thanks to her, her escape plan was moved up a whole year. Although the plan deviated slightly, it doesn't matter; the most important thing in life is flexibility.

"Miss, we've arrived." Butler Chen opened the car door, and Tang Wan got out.

"Your luggage will be delivered to your room shortly."

"Okay." Tang Wan responded and walked up the stairs. The door was open, and Aunt Liu was already waiting at the door.

"Miss, Madam and Master are inside." Aunt Liu arranged the slippers for Tang Wan.

"Hmm, bring me a cup of tea."

"Yes." After changing her shoes, Tang Wan walked into the main hall at a leisurely pace.

In the living room, Mr. and Mrs. Tang sat upright on the main sofa, while a rather thin girl sat on the side sofa. She kept her head down, and her hair fell down, obscuring her profile and making it impossible to see her face.

At this moment, she was sobbing softly, as if she had suffered a great injustice. In an ordinary family, a whole bunch of people would probably be around her, trying to soothe her emotions, wishing they could make up for all the years they had neglected her.

It's a pity this is the Tang family. The Tang couple remained unmoved, letting Meng Zhiyi perform her one-woman show.

After all, she lived in the Tang family for 17 years, and her personality was more or less influenced by the Tang couple.

At this moment, Tang Wan instantly lost interest in Meng Zhiyi because of her delicate appearance. She even felt a slight irritation from the faint sobbing sounds, a result of her long journey.

"Dad, Mom." Tang Wan looked away.

"Sit down," Tang Sheng said, and Tang Wan naturally sat down. As soon as she sat down, Aunt Liu brought out the tea.

Tang Wan took a small sip, and the aroma of the black tea spread in her mouth, which soothed her mind.

"This... must be my sister." Seeing that no one paid attention to her, Meng Zhi stopped her monologue. She was clever; she put herself in a subservient position, looking pitiful. Anyone else would have felt sorry for her and offered her support.

Unfortunately, her acting was so bad and clumsy that none of the three people present responded to her.

The atmosphere froze for a moment.

Tang Wan found it amusing and, taking advantage of the moment when she put down her teacup, raised an eyebrow and glanced at her.

Unlike Tang Wan's striking and beautiful appearance, Meng Zhiyi inherited Su Yao's features. Although she is also considered a beauty, the difference in their looks is immediately apparent when compared.
