The jealousy in the other person's eyes was too obvious. Tang Wan curled her lips slightly, gaining a general understanding of the other person's temperament. It was largely as described in the file; she hoped she could be smarter when dealing with the two young masters of the Tang family.
"These are your biological parents' information." Tang Sheng pushed the files on the table towards him.
This is the Tang family; there's no room for sentimentality. They value time, because time brings them money, while sentimentality can't solve their basic needs.
Tang Wan took the book, her slender fingers pinching the bottom of the page as she leisurely turned the pages. From the moment she entered the house until now, Tang Wan had embodied the word 'elegance' in every way. After all, she had grown up in the Tang family. If Meng Zhiyi and she were on opposite sides of Tang Sheng, no one would think that Meng Zhiyi was the true daughter of the Tang family.
Opening the document, the first two pages contained her parents' information. Tang Wanqian glanced at them, and her previous guesses became even more certain.
"No wonder they suddenly came to our door at this time." She didn't say this aloud, but instead casually turned to the next page.
Tang Wan stopped turning the page when she saw the photo. She sighed softly, "Looks like I'll have to change my strategy again."
She was thinking about something else, and to Meng Zhiyi, that sigh was a sign of worry about her future miserable life. She lowered her head, hiding the smile on her lips. When she looked up again, her eyes were already brimming with tears.
"Sister, my adoptive father and his family are not well-off, so please don't be too sad."
"Don't call me sister, it sounds a bit awkward." Tang Wan didn't pretend just because the Tang couple were there, because she didn't care, and neither did the Tang couple.
"I...I'm sorry." Meng Zhiyi clutched the hem of her skirt, her voice weak, as if she had suffered a great injustice.
“I know you’re used to living the life of a pampered young lady, and you’ll definitely find it hard to go back… Dad, Father, if my sister wants to stay, then let her stay. Although I’m your daughter, she grew up by your side, and she’ll definitely miss you.”
Meng Zhiyi looked at Tang Sheng with watery eyes, like an innocent little white flower, willing to suffer herself to make others happy.
Tang Wan raised an eyebrow, then picked up her teacup and took another sip. Unfortunately, the tea was cold, and the taste was subpar. She put it down, and Aunt Liu immediately stepped forward to replace it with a new cup.
Tang Sheng ignored Meng Zhiyi's clumsy acting, and Tang Wan naturally didn't respond either.
What are your plans?
Tang Sheng only spoke after seeing Tang Wan close the document.
"Everyone back to your places." Tang Wan took a sip of tea, suppressing the smirk on her lips.
