Chapter 12 She Has an Older Brother

"I came to tell you as soon as I was settled in."

"The Meng family seems to suit your taste."

Meng Wan curled her lips slightly, neither confirming nor denying.

"We'll spend a year together, so I'll help them out if I can. Once they go to university, we'll all go our separate ways. What happens then will be up to them."

Chen Xiong looked at her, his cloudy eyes revealing nothing, and after a long while, he sighed softly. "Whether the Tang family or the Meng family is worth your lingering affections, I don't know. But here, you'll definitely have a place."

Meng Wan smiled and poured herself another cup of tea. "I know, Grandpa."

"Let's go. We'll do acupuncture after the treatment is complete. This can't be rushed. As for the rest, we'll see." Chen Xiong put the note away and stood up.

Meng Wan stopped what she was doing and went forward to help Chen Xiong.

"I'll do whatever you say."

Chen Xiong patted Meng Wan's hand, his expression full of love and tenderness, everything understood without words.

In the front yard, Chen Liu led Meng Zhili into a separate room, while he went to the counter to get the medicine. The prescription contained many rare medicinal herbs, which were not displayed outside; Chen Liu had to go in and get them himself.

Meng Zhili sat inside, looking out the window at the main hall. If it weren't for the modern clothes worn by the people who came to get the medicine, he would have wondered if he had traveled back in time to an ancient pharmacy.

There were quite a few people coming and going, including ordinary people and many high-ranking officials, some of whom covered their faces, making it impossible to see their features. Strangely, the entire hall was quiet, with conversations occurring only occasionally.

The aroma in the hall was the same as in the room earlier. Meng Zhili sat there idly, then took out his phone and started writing something down.

"This medicine is divided into two doses, one in the morning and one in the evening. I've written down the amount of water you need on a piece of paper. Remember to come back when you've finished it."

Chen Liu suddenly spoke, and Meng Zhili's soul was pulled back to reality.

"Thank you, how much?"

Upon hearing this, Chen Liu looked at him with suspicion.

"Did I say something wrong?" Meng Zhili asked, puzzled.

"Who are you to Tang Wan? I've never seen you before. Boyfriend? No way, would Yan Nian let you off the hook?" Chen Liu rubbed his chin, frowned, and asked a series of questions, leaving Meng Zhili somewhat at a loss.

"I am Wanwan's second brother, Meng Zhili." Meng Zhili did not know who Yan Nian was, but his intuition told him he shouldn't ask.

"Second brother? How come I didn't know she had a second brother? A cousin?" Chen Liu asked, leaning forward in confusion. "A blood brother." Meng Zhili wasn't used to such close proximity and moved back slightly.

"Her own brother? You must be joking. She has an older brother named Tang Qi, and he's a formidable guy." Chen Liu retorted without hesitation.
