"It's okay, I was just about to knock."
"Who are you looking for?" The other person opened the door, and Meng Wan could finally see his face clearly in the dim light of the hallway.
The other person was very tall, almost 1.88 meters, and I had to bend down to avoid bumping my head when I went out.
His features were gentle and non-threatening; even in the dim light, his fair complexion was noticeable. The white shirt worn by the restaurant waiter looked great on him; his broad shoulders and narrow waist made him stand out in a crowd.
"Are you going out?" Tang Wan asked in return.
“Yes, I need to take a part-time job.” The man was good-natured and answered in agreement with Tang Wan.
"Then I'll get straight to the point. I'm most likely your sister, the biological kind." Meng Wan's tone was sincere, but it was somewhat unexpected.
"What?" Meng Zhili was taken aback.
"Zhili, you haven't left yet? Remember to pick up your medicine before you go to work, don't forget." A woman's voice came from the inner room, and the two of them looked in the direction of the voice.
"Mom," Meng Zhili called out, and Meng Wan happened to meet her gaze. The woman was wearing an apron, dressed simply, with a few strands of white hair on her head, but her elegant demeanor was undeniable.
"Hello," Meng Wan greeted first.
"Hello, young lady, who are you looking for? It's not very safe here at night. Are you alone?" The woman rubbed her hand on her apron, her tone full of concern.
"Um... Meng Zhiyi, no, it's Tang Zhiyi now. Didn't she tell you?" Meng Wan didn't expect things to turn out this way.
"Zhiyi?" A hint of disappointment flashed in both of their eyes when her name was mentioned.
"To put it simply, I'm most likely your biological daughter. We were switched at birth, and now that she's been reunited with her family, it's only natural that I've moved out. As for the rest... let's talk about it inside?"
