Chapter 63: Are you worthy to compare with Tang Wan?

"Young Master, we've arrived." The butler opened the car door, and a man and his dog stepped out. Apart from a few scattered servants, the mansion was devoid of any human warmth.

"Aren't you coming home for dinner tonight?" The childish face held a coldness beyond its years.

"The master and mistress are both attending a banquet tonight, but the eldest daughter is upstairs." Aunt Liu took out the shoes and arranged them.

"Just bring dinner to my room, Tyrannosaurus Rex, let's go." Tang Li's tone was flat as he changed his shoes and led Tyrannosaurus Rex upstairs by the rope.

Already in low spirits, he happened to bump into Tang Zhiyi, who was about to go downstairs. Tang Li was in a bad mood and had no intention of playing pranks as usual, so he led the Tyrannosaurus Rex straight upstairs.

"I'm still your older sister, you should at least greet me when we meet, right?" Tang Zhiyi's tone was filled with undisguised displeasure at Tang Li's indifference.

When they were at the Meng family's house, how could Meng Zhiyao dare to treat her like this?

Tang Li stopped and chuckled.

"Just because I call you 'Young Miss' doesn't mean you can compare to me."

Tang Zhiyi's face immediately fell. The two brothers' repeated embarrassment had already made her extremely unhappy.

"Does Meng Wan even deserve it! Don't forget, her surname is Meng now!" Tang Zhiyi clenched her fists, anger overcoming her fear. She reached out her hand, while Tang Li remained completely unaware of the impending danger.

"So what? You really know how to overestimate yourself. Compared to Tang Wan, are you even worthy?"

No sooner had Tang Li finished speaking than a scream echoed throughout the villa, followed by a figure tumbling down the stairs...

Meanwhile, Meng Wan, having seen Tang Li off, also boarded a bus to the traditional Chinese medicine clinic. The alley was as quiet as ever, and even on the weekend, it didn't become any more lively.

Walking into the backyard, the door was still wide open. Chen Xiong was lying on his armchair listening to Peking Opera, humming along to a few lines, looking quite relaxed.

"Didn't you eat anything this time?"

"Oh dear, did I misjudge you in broad daylight? What brings you here, little girl?" Chen Xiong sat up, sarcastically teasing Meng Wan, but his smile was practically reaching his temples.

"I've come to see my brother." Meng Wan deliberately provoked Chen Xiong.

"You heartless girl."

"No conscience? Then I'll give this to Chen Liu and the others." Meng Wan shook the bag in her hand.

"What's this?" Chen Xiong's eyes lit up. Ever since Meng Wan cleared out the snacks last time, his mouth had been feeling lonely.

"My mom asked me to bring these water chestnut cakes. They're freshly made." Meng Wan opened the box and arranged the forks.

Chen Xiong couldn't have it either. He picked up a piece and started eating, closing his eyes in enjoyment.

"That's really good."

"Don't eat too much, leave some for Chen Liu."

"Okay, okay." Chen Xiong waved his hand.

"Where are the two?" Although she was asking, Meng Wan didn't leave. Instead, she moved a chair and sat down next to Chen Xiong.

"The front yard."

"How about it?"

"Not bad, he learns quickly and accurately, and he's gentle and polite in his dealings with people. He's a promising talent." In the time it took to say those two sentences, Chen Xiong had already eaten three pieces of water chestnut cake.

Meng Wan nodded; it was pretty much what she had expected.

"Yan Nian is back?"

"I'm back. I went to see Aunt Jiang as soon as I got back."

Chen Xiong put down the fork and sighed.

"The situation... is not very optimistic, I believe you know that without me saying more."

Meng Wan pursed her lips and lowered her head, remaining silent.

Of course she knew, and Yan Nian certainly knew too, but since Yan Nian didn't say anything, she wouldn't expose him. People always need to have something to look forward to. They firmly believed that hard work is greater than miracles, so they would do their best to achieve what they wanted to do, putting in 200% effort to accomplish it.

But now, they are hoping for a miracle.

"Master, this is the order form for the goods. Could you please confirm it... Wanwan?"

During the silence, Meng Zhili hurried over with a form in his hand. He paused for a moment when he saw Meng Wan, then smiled.

"Brother, how are you feeling? Are you getting used to it?" Meng Wan waved to him. Unconsciously, Meng Wan's relationship with the Meng family members had become closer, but she herself didn't seem to realize it.

"It's great. When did you arrive?"

"Just now, Mom made some water chestnut cake and asked me to bring it over for the chef to try."

How is Yaoyao?

"Not bad." Meng Wan raised an eyebrow, her tone tinged with a hint of pride.

Meng Zhili found her adorable and ruffled Meng Wan's hair. "You've worked hard."

"Meng Zhili, have you signed the forms yet?" Chen Liuren's voice preceded his arrival. Startled by the call, Meng Zhili remembered his business and smiled somewhat embarrassedly.

"Master, I'm sorry."

"I've been busy all day, it's almost time to close up shop and have lunch." Chen Xiong took the pen and paper and signed his name with a flourish.

"Okay." No sooner had Meng Zhili left than Chen Liu stepped out.

"Oh my, isn't this our beautiful and intelligent Wanwan?"

"It sounds quite natural to call me by my full name, doesn't it?"

"I was wrong." Chen Liu clasped his hands together and immediately apologized without the slightest hesitation.

Meng Wan was already used to Chen Liu's slyness, and patted him on the head. "Go eat a piece of water chestnut cake."

"It was made by your sister Wanwan's mother, and the taste is just as good as Yuanfangzhai."

"Then I must try it." Chen Liu took a bite, his eyes lit up instantly, and he devoured more than half of it in no time.

"Hey, hey, hey, I told you to eat one piece, not a whole plate, do you understand, Master? Alright, alright, stop eating, there's none left!" Chen Xiong stopped him, but Chen Liu tried every means to grab one piece from the left and one piece from the right.
