"Then why are you still in your senior year of high school?" Meng Wan put down her hand and changed the subject.
"I was often sick when I was a child, so I had to take a year off from school."
"Okay, what medicine are you taking now?"
"Chinese medicine, angelica, astragalus, ginseng..." Meng Zhili read out the prescription one by one.
Upon hearing this, Meng Wan didn't breathe a sigh of relief; instead, her brows furrowed even more. "These are just the basics..."
"Ahem." Meng Zhili coughed, interrupting Meng Wan.
Meng Wan understood, knowing that Meng Boqun and the others were unaware of this matter.
"Mom and Dad, it's getting late. You should go to sleep too. Don't we still need to prepare for setting up the stall tomorrow?"
"But you..."
"I'm fine, it's an old ailment, and the doctor didn't say anything when I went today. Wanwan, is there anything wrong with the prescription?"
Meng Wan nodded. There was nothing wrong with it, but it wasn't very useful.
Although still worried, Meng Zhili pushed the two of them into the room. Only after the door closed did Meng Zhili breathe a sigh of relief. He turned to look at Meng Wan, his index finger to his lips, a gentle smile on his face.
"I understand." She looked up at Meng Zhili. "But, did you memorize this prescription, or..."
“I run this business myself. Don’t let my appearance fool you; I’ve been immersed in traditional Chinese medicine since I was a child, so I know a thing or two about it. I know my own body; I’ll live as long as I can, so there’s no need to waste money on that.”
Meng Wan nodded, seemingly lost in thought.
When are you free?
"Tomorrow is my last day of work, and the day after tomorrow I'll go back to school for the opening ceremony. After that, there's nothing else to do."
"Want to come somewhere with me?"
"good."
Aren't you going to ask me where I'm going?
"They won't sell me out of the blue." Meng Zhili had a gentle smile on his face, like a mature and reliable older brother.
"That's not necessarily true." Although she said that, Meng Wan had a smile on her face.
Meng Zhili didn't say anything, he just raised his hand and rubbed her head.
"By the way, write down the prescription you wrote for yourself and give it to me."
