Chapter 70 She! Bad!

"Tang Li?" Meng Wan was taken aback.

"Yes, it seems that the second young master of the Tang family really dislikes his older sister." Lan Xing said with some emotion.

"Even if Tang Li hates her, he wouldn't push her down the stairs." Meng Wan's pupils darted around, her fingertips tapping on the table as she pondered something.

"You mean there's more to the story?" Lan Xing had no doubt about Meng Wan's judgment.

"I'm going to make a phone call." Meng Wan got up and walked out without waiting for Lan Xing's reply.

Lan Xing raised an eyebrow. "You seem indifferent, but you're actually quite worried."

"Sister Wan, why did you come and go in such a hurry?"

"Stop asking questions." Peng Zhe leaned closer, but Lan Xing pushed him back by pressing his index finger against his head.

At the stairwell, Meng Wan was about to make a phone call when Qin Yi called first.

"Mom, what's wrong?"

"Wanwan, Tang Li suddenly came to our house. I think he's not acting right. He won't answer when I ask him questions. Do you want to come back and check on him?"

"Is Tang Li at home?"

"Yes, he just arrived. He's sitting in the living room now. I cut him some fruit, but he won't eat it. He's just sitting on the sofa with the dog, staring blankly. It's kind of scary."

"I understand, Mom. Keep an eye on him. I'm going back now."

"Okay, okay, but don't worry, I'm watching, don't worry."

"Okay." Meng Wan hung up the phone and returned to the classroom.

"I'm leaving now." Meng Wan slung her backpack over her shoulder.

Where to?

"Tang Li is at my house. I'm going back."

"Your home? Let's go together, I came here on my motorcycle." Lan Xing was taken aback, but subconsciously got up with Meng Wan.

“Okay.” Meng Wan did not refuse.

"Peng Zhe, please ask for leave for us."

"Taking leave? No! Where are you two going? How come one just arrived and two more have left?" Peng Zhe looked bewildered.

But no one paid him any attention; they simply waved in response and quickly disappeared into the teaching building.

Lan Xing tossed the helmet to Meng Wan, who put it on skillfully, took a long stride, and sat down steadily.

The motorcycle roared to life, and the next second, the two of them shot off like arrows. What would normally be a half-hour journey, Lan Xing delivered Meng Wan to her building in less than 15 minutes.

"I won't go up. Call me if you need anything." Lan Xing took the helmet.

Meng Wan bumped fists with her and turned to go upstairs. Lan Xing watched Meng Wan go upstairs until she disappeared from her sight before pulling down her viewing glasses.

The roar of the locomotive sounded again, then quickly disappeared.

The door wasn't closed, and Meng Wan pushed it open and went inside. Hearing the noise, Qin Yi came over and pointed behind her. Meng Wan nodded, changed her shoes, and went in, only to see a person and a dog occupying the entire sofa.

Sitting there, it felt like its soul had left its body; lying down, it stuck out its tongue and wagged its tail, obediently keeping its owner company despite his bad mood. Surprisingly, Meng Zhiyao actually sat to the side, quietly watching the man and the dog.

The scene was strangely bizarre.

Just as Meng Wan was thinking about how to bring it up, the phone rang again. It was Butler Chen. Without any hesitation, Meng Wan answered directly.

"It's with me."

"No need, I'll have someone send him back tomorrow. He can stay here today."

"Don't worry, your parents won't stop us."

After hanging up the phone, Meng Wan sighed. She tossed her schoolbag aside, wondering why she had specifically come back to get it at noon.

"What happened?" Meng Wan sat down next to him, making herself look at him at eye level, so that she wouldn't feel so pressured.

"I didn't push it." Tang Li's seemingly random statement carried a hint of grievance.

“I know it wasn’t you.” Meng Wan ruffled his hair. “But you have to tell me what happened.”

Tang Li pouted, "It would have been better if I had pushed him."

Meng Wan pinched his cheek. "Come to the room and explain things to me."

She patted the Tyrannosaurus Rex, which immediately jumped off the sofa. Tang Li, though reluctant, still stood up.

The two entered the room one after the other. Just as they were about to close the door, Meng Zhiyao and Tyrannosaurus Rex stood at the door, looking at Meng Wan expectantly.

With a sigh, he let the person and the dog in anyway.

The three people and the dog sat on the ground. Meng Zhiyao sat next to Meng Wan, while Tyrannosaurus Rex consciously cushioned its little master's back.

"Tell me, what happened?"

"That woman was vicious. She was always crying and whining like a ghost. When she couldn't argue with me, she tried to push me down the stairs. But she got scared by the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Luckily, the Tyrannosaurus Rex reacted quickly and roared. She was so frightened that she slipped and tumbled down the stairs."

"Are you alright?" Meng Wan frowned, not expecting Tang Zhiyi to be so crazy.

"I'm fine." Tang Li lowered his head, trying to hide his grievances.

His voice was low and mumbled, making it difficult to hear.

Meng Wan could tell at a glance that Tang Zhiyi had been wronged. Given Tang Zhiyi's tendency to always portray herself as a victim, and considering Tang Li's usual behavior, it was no wonder she was misunderstood.

"What are you afraid of if you didn't push him? Aren't you usually pretty arrogant when it comes to pranks?" Meng Wan patted his head, speaking in a nonchalant tone.

"Who's scared!" Tang Li suddenly shouted, startling Meng Zhiyao, who instinctively grabbed Meng Wan's clothes.

Without turning her head, Meng Wan gently patted Meng Zhiyao's head with her hand.

"I'm just... just annoyed. Why is it all my fault? Nobody believes me." Tang Li's voice suddenly dropped.

"Didn't the surveillance cameras capture it?"

"It was blocked by the handrail." Tang Li's words were full of frustration.

A group of people looked at him with accusatory eyes, and without thinking, they blamed themselves for going too far with their jokes. They then surrounded the wailing woman, trying to coax and comfort her!

He asked to see the surveillance footage, but no one paid any attention to him. The whole crowd escorted her to the hospital, and only Aunt Liu accompanied him to see it.

She clearly did something wrong and fell down, why didn't she just die from the fall? It's disgusting!

Tang Li grew angrier the more he thought about it! If this were back at the M Country manor, who would dare treat him like this! He would fire them all! Fire them all!

"He tried to steal a chicken but lost the rice instead, damn Meng Zhiyi!"

Meng Wan didn't correct the mistake in his words, but Meng Zhiyao seemed to have been suddenly switched on, and he grabbed Meng Wan's clothes tightly.

"What's wrong?"

"She's bad!"

Meng Wan was taken aback. "Who's bad? Tang Li?"

Tang Li looked puzzled and was about to question Meng Zhiyao when Meng Zhiyao became increasingly agitated.

"She's bad!"

Meng Wan had a pretty good idea of what was going on. "You mean Meng Zhiyi?"

To ensure Meng Zhiyao recognized her, Meng Wan deliberately pronounced her name as "Meng Zhiyi."

Meng Zhiyao's eyes widened, and she nodded.

"What did she do to you?" Meng Wan lowered her voice, coaxing him to speak further.

Tang Li was very clever and immediately realized what was happening. He shut his mouth and waited for Meng Zhiyao to speak.

But Meng Zhiyao suddenly panicked. He covered his mouth and backed away, curling up in a corner.
