Chapter 91 No Evidence

"I didn't see anything tonight, so go to sleep and do your best in school tomorrow." Meng Wan rubbed his head.

"You weren't coming back?" Tang Li's disappointment was palpable.

Meng Wan pinched his cheek. "Goodnight."

Tang Li pouted, "When will Meng Zhiyao start school?"

"tomorrow."

"That's more like it." Tang Li has a childlike temperament; he gets upset quickly, and he gets happy just as quickly.

"Alright, go to sleep."

No sooner had Meng Wan finished speaking than Tang Zhiyi's wailing echoed throughout the villa. Meng Wan gave Butler Chen a look, who understood and immediately went to Tang Zhiyi's room.

"What did you do to her?" Tang Li asked, his eyes full of curiosity.

"Why do kids need to know so much?" Meng Wan flicked Tang Li's forehead.

It didn't hurt; there was only a faint red mark. Tang Li rubbed his temples, looking displeased.

"You think you're so great at playing pranks?"

His muttered words reached Meng Wan's ears. Meng Wan's lips curled up slightly, but she immediately put on a serious expression.

"If you don't go to sleep soon, I'll send Meng Zhiyao to another school."

"Okay, okay." Tang Li turned back every few steps and closed the door under Meng Wan's watchful gaze.

After confirming that Tang Li had not come out again, Meng Wan left. The rest would be handled by Butler Chen.

"nailed it?"

Meng Wan didn't say anything, but threw one of the simulated snakes in her hand over. Lan Xing was startled and threw it back.

"Holy crap, what is this?" Lan Xing only looked at it after throwing it away.

"A realistic snake." Having successfully pulled off the prank, Meng Wan picked up the snake from the ground and threw it directly into the trash can.

"The second young master of the Tang family?"

Meng Wan nodded.

"So young and already has such a wicked sense of humor, that's really something."

Hearing Lan Xing's heartfelt praise, Meng Wan felt somewhat helpless.

Let's go.

"Alright, Miss." Lan Xing tossed the helmet to her, his tone teasing.

"How long do you think she'll stay quiet now?"

"Then we'll see if she learns her lesson."

Lan Xing whistled; she absolutely adored Meng Wan's cute appearance.

In Tang Zhiyi's room at the Tang family home, the arrival of Butler Chen finally calmed her down.

"Quick! Call the police! Arrest Meng Wan! She hit me!" Tang Zhiyi, her hair disheveled, looked like a shrew. She pointed at Butler Chen, her eyes filled with hatred.

"Young Miss, where are you injured?" Butler Chen asked calmly and without changing his expression.

"Hand, hand..." Tang Zhiyi's eyes widened in terror as she pointed at Butler Chen's hand, the very hand that Meng Wan had just broken. Yet, miraculously, it was healed, without a trace of pain!

Recalling Meng Wan's actions just now, she felt a wave of fear wash over her.

“Give me a call! I’m going to tell my dad that the good daughter he’s raised for 17 years is trying to harm me, her own daughter, by coming over in the middle of the night… Yes! Trespassing! I’m going to sue her! I’m going to sue her!”

"Miss, there is no evidence."

"No evidence? How can there be no evidence! Are the villa's security cameras just for show? Are you all just for show? Meng Wan has been barging in for so long, are you deaf or blind? If you can't do the job, get out! What use are you bunch of useless trash?!"

As Tang Zhiyi spoke, she suddenly calmed down.

"It was you! You let her in on purpose! Butler Chen, you're a servant of the Tang family, not Meng Wan's servant. If you like Meng Wan so much, why don't you get out of the Tang family with her? This is my last warning to you: give me my father's phone number, or when he gets back, I'll make you regret it!"

Despite Tang Zhiyi's accusations, Butler Chen maintained the elegance of a British butler from the last century.

“Miss, if I were you, I would pretend nothing happened. Don’t you understand now? I wasn’t the one who didn’t give you Mr. Tang’s phone number. I wasn’t the one who let Miss Meng in either. I’m loyal to the Tang family, to Mr. Tang, and to the two young masters of the Tang family, but not to you.”

Not providing a phone number was Tang Sheng's order. Tang Zhiyi had already lost most of her value to Tang Sheng after ruining the family reunion banquet. No upper-class family would accept a daughter-in-law who was emotionally unstable and embarrassed in front of guests over trivial matters.

As for letting Meng Wan in, that was naturally Tang Qi's idea. Meng Wan's ability to have a dominant position at home stems largely from Tang Qi's attitude.

Tang Zhiyi went unnoticed. She could order others around, but she couldn't command Butler Chen, who handled all the big and small affairs of the Tang family.

"It's getting late, you should get some rest. I'll head out now. As for the door lock, I'm sorry to trouble you tonight, I'll have someone replace it for you tomorrow."

After finishing his sentence, Butler Chen left. The door was ajar, and from inside came Tang Zhiyi's piercing scream, which was quite unpleasant.

A series of clanging and banging sounds came from inside, as if she had swept something to the ground. Butler Chen didn't linger and went straight downstairs.

After a night of turmoil, dawn finally broke.

Meng Wan was very efficient, finishing Meng Zhiyao's matter in one night. The so-called test was just to design a more suitable curriculum for Meng Zhiyao; even if he failed, it wouldn't prevent him from enrolling.

To be on the safe side, Meng Wan took leave to accompany Meng Zhiyao to Berlin. Unexpectedly, the principal and two teachers were waiting quietly at the door.

"Uncle Lin, it's been a long time." Meng Wan held Meng Zhiyao's hand, which made Meng Zhiyao feel more at ease.

"Wanwan, I've finally waited for you to contact me, my child." Lin Cen was nearly fifty years old, but he was full of energy and could easily be mistaken for someone in his early forties.

“I understand the situation, so I didn’t bring anyone else. As you requested, I brought Tang Li’s homeroom teacher and the test teacher.”

"Thank you for your help." Meng Wan's politeness carried a hint of distance, while Lin Cen was very enthusiastic.

"Oh, you're too kind. I've been worrying every day about how to repay you. You're so young, so outstanding, and so humble. Have you ever considered my son? Although he's five years older than you, he's still quite good-looking and intelligent."

Meng Wan said helplessly, "Uncle Lin, I'm only 17, and I haven't taken the college entrance exam yet."

"You have to judge people early. You're so outstanding. Once you go to university, won't your suitors line up all the way to Rome? They'll definitely have to give my good-for-nothing son a head start, won't they?"

"If that's what you're saying, I'll be leaving now. Let's talk about school another day." Knowing that persuasion was ineffective, Meng Wan made a move to leave.

"No, no! You finally spoke up." Lin Cen quickly pulled Meng Wan back.

The two teachers looked at each other, wondering who this serious and taciturn principal was, as it was the first time they had seen him like this.

"Is this the Meng Zhiyao you mentioned who's going to enroll? I understand the situation. Let's go inside and talk in detail in the office."

Lin Cen coughed, covering her lips with her hand, and immediately regained her serious demeanor.
