During the hour and a half, Qin Huai'an would have his butler ask the front desk almost every half hour. Several times he wanted to just walk away, but when he thought of that document, he had to hold back.
After finishing the third cup of water, Qin Huai'an finally reached his limit.
"Does a meeting have to take this long?!" Qin Huai'an questioned as he watched the receptionist approach.
"Mr. Qin, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting. Please come with me." The receptionist remained calm, still sporting her standard professional smile, and led Qin Huai'an towards the elevator.
After pressing the floor button for Qin Huai'an, she smiled and watched the elevator doors slowly close before returning to her work station.
As soon as he stepped out of the elevator, someone was already waiting at the elevator entrance to guide him.
Seeing this, Qin Huai'an's expression finally softened a bit.
The two walked to the office door. The assistant pushed the door open and let Qin Huai'an go in first. The butler followed behind him and wanted to go in, but was stopped by the assistant.
"What does this mean?" Qin Huai'an frowned and looked at his assistant.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Tang said that only Mr. Qin can go in. After all, it's an office, and it would be quite troublesome if something were lost, wouldn't you agree?"
The assistant had a smile on his face, but it made everyone who heard it feel uncomfortable.
"You mean my butler steals things?"
"Of course not, it's just that you only registered one person when you made the appointment."
Qin Huai'an's hand holding the cane trembled.
"Sir, I'll be waiting for you outside." The butler lowered his eyes, using his concession to ensure Qin Huai'an's smooth meeting.
Qin Huai'an knew that Tang Qi was taking revenge on him, and that he himself had given him this opportunity, which made him even more heartbroken.
But at this moment, he had no choice but to do as he was told.
Upon opening the door, they discovered it was another office, with Tang Qi's office located at the very back.
"Mr. Tang, Mr. Qin has arrived." The assistant knocked on the door.
"Enter."
Upon hearing the reply, the assistant smiled slightly at Qin Huai'an, opened the door, and gestured for him to come in.
Qin Huai'an snorted coldly, tapped the ground with his cane, and straightened his back.
"Mr. Qin, I'm sorry, I've been busy with work and kept you waiting." Tang Qi stood up, a smile on his face, looking more like a smiling tiger than a smiling man.
"Hmph." Qin Huai'an showed no kindness whatsoever when he saw the three of them.
Meng Wan didn't even bother to pretend anymore, and simply curled up on the sofa, not even giving Qin Huai'an a second glance.
"Let's not talk about anything else. What do you want to do with the documents?" Before Tang Qi could even ask, Qin Huai'an sat down on the sofa.
Tang Qi smiled and walked over to sit opposite him. Meng Wan sat up slightly and moved closer to Tang Qi. Lin Bai, who loved to join in the fun, sat across from Tang Qi's desk, observing them from a distance without coming over.
"Speak, what are your conditions!" Even though Tang Qi had leverage over him, Qin Huai'an didn't back down. He glanced at Tang Qi; in his opinion, Tang Qi only had these petty tricks up his sleeve.
This is the only way a greenhorn like him could think of to get revenge.
"It's simple. Make Qin Yang apologize to my brother in front of both schools and admit that he pushed him on purpose."
"Impossible!" Qin Huai'an refused without even thinking.
Qin Yang is the Qin family's last hope, and he won't allow Qin Yang's life to have even the slightest stain! Even if he's not good at painting, he has ways to mold him into an artist. An artist cannot have any blemishes!
Tang Qi seemed to have anticipated Qin Huai'an's refusal, and his expression showed no sign of breaking down; he still had a smile on his face.
“There’s a second way: break Qin Yang’s hand. But don’t worry, I’ll put it back on, though it might take ten days to half a month to recover.” Meng Wan blinked, speaking the most terrifying words in the most innocent tone.
Qin Huai'an looked at Meng Wan and for a moment felt that he had grown old and misheard her.
Lin Bai watched this scene and applauded inwardly.
"Look at you, of all people to mess with, you had to pick on these two vengeful little devils." Lin Bai shook his head, silently wishing Qin Huai'an a happy new life.
"Don't go too far!" Qin Huai'an suddenly stood up, pointing at the two of them. His trembling appearance made Lin Bai afraid he might fall and stage an accident.
“Old Master Qin, you have to pay the price for doing something wrong. If you can’t do this or that, it’s really difficult for us.”
Faced with Qin Huai'an's accusations, the two remained firmly seated, showing no sign of moving or backing down.
"How much money do you want? I'll pay!" Qin Huai'an stared into Tang Qi's eyes and was the first to give in.
“Old Master Qin may not know, but the daily turnover of my brother and my company is more than the Qin family’s monthly income.” Meng Wan raised her eyebrows, as if she had heard a joke.
"So what exactly do you want?"
"It's simple, an apology." The brother and sister's expressions changed simultaneously, their smiles vanished, and they exuded a certain pressure and imposing aura.
Qin Huai'an's face darkened, but unlike before, he didn't refuse without a second thought.
He was considering what he should give up.
If this document is released, his past actions will be exposed, and the Qin family will only be ridiculed and talked about behind their backs. If Qin Yang is forced to apologize, he will never be able to access top artists again, and the Qin family's future will be ruined.
With all roads blocked in all directions, Qin Huai'an gritted his teeth and belatedly realized that he had underestimated these two.
"Qin Yang can apologize, but only in private."
"Old Master Qin, do you have some misunderstanding about this matter? You have no right to negotiate right now." Tang Qi rested his hands on his knees, his expression arrogant, like a hawk locking onto its prey.
"However, I can give you a third option."
"What?"
"It's very simple. I will post this document online and let the world judge it."
Tang Qi threw the document in front of Qin Huai'an, his expression cold and indifferent, no longer the smiling tiger he had been at the beginning, as if declaring that his patience had run out.
"Wait, I choose the second option! The second option!" Qin Huai'an panicked a little, stood up, and made his choice.
Lin Bai's smile widened, and he was even more glad that he hadn't left, so that he could witness such a wonderful confrontation.
"Unfortunately, by the time the third option was presented, you no longer had a choice." Tang Qi stood up, his tone flat and unwavering.
"Lin Bai, have your assistant see the guests out."
"Okay." Lin Bai turned his chair around and dialed the phone.
Soon, the assistant came in.
"Mr. Qin, please."
"Tang Qi, don't be stubborn and ask for trouble!" Qin Huai'an raised his cane, but Tang Qi gently pressed it down.
The force seemed weak, yet it rendered Qin Huai'an unable to move.
"Don't you understand yet, Old Master Qin?" Tang Qi walked to Qin Huai'an's side and whispered in his ear.
“From the very beginning, you had no choice.”
Qin Huai'an's pupils suddenly contracted, and he finally understood that this so-called negotiation had only one outcome from beginning to end.
"see a visitor out."
Seeing Qin Huai'an's dazed expression, Tang Qi showed no pity and coldly uttered two words.
