Chapter 260 Return to the Imperial Court

Chapter 260 Return to the Imperial Court

Zhou Yunjie walked out of Bai Simiao's office with a heavy feeling of apology in his heart and his steps were unsteady.

She didn't expect Shen Zhiyu to have such a big reaction. With a long sigh, she tightened her coat and walked out of the hospital gate.

Pushing open the heavy door, a cold wind, swirling with fine snowflakes, blew against her face. Before she even reached the last step, she froze in place.

Amidst the falling snow, a slender figure stood silently, his black coat dusted with snowflakes. A cigarette was tucked between his fingers, cigarette butts scattered across the ground beneath his feet.

She stopped there, staring at the man at the bottom of the stairs, with mixed feelings in her heart.

When Shen Zhiyu saw Zhou Yunjie coming out of the hospital, he put out the cigarette in his hand. His gaze paused for two seconds on her slightly thin cashmere coat. He took off his coat without hesitation, shook off the snow on it, and carried it up the stairs.

The cold body was wrapped in a familiar embrace. Before Zhou Yunjie could say a word, he was picked up and strode to the parking lot.

He was safely placed in the passenger seat, and the door was quickly and gently closed. Then Shen Zhiyu did not get in the car immediately, but went around to the back of the car to get something before returning to the car.

After turning up the temperature of the air conditioner, he covered Zhou Yunjie with the thing in his hand.

It's a blanket.

Zhou Yunjie turned to look at Shen Zhiyu, and for a moment he felt that he seemed a little dejected, and his hands covered in the blanket gradually tightened.

Before he could speak, the person next to him spoke first, "You should stay in Junting for the time being, so that your mother won't get suspicious. I called her and told her that we are going to Beijing on a business trip for a while. I will take you home to pack some clothes. If she asks, don't let it slip."

After Shen Zhiyu finished speaking, he was silent for a moment, and the car also became quiet in an instant.

Finally, he said as if he had made up his mind, "I will take the agreement back to Junting after I sign it. You can rest assured and take care of your health."

Even at this point, he still didn't say a single soft word, not even a word of extra comfort.

Zhou Yunjie quickly wiped the wet corners of his eyes and said, "No need. I won't let my mother find out."

Since he refuses to give in, let's just play it out to the end.

But if she went back to Junting and lived under the same roof with him, it would be too easy to be exposed, and she didn't want to let him go so early.

Shen Zhiyu's temples throbbed again. He was still doubting whether she had really undergone surgery, but her pale complexion and red eyes did not seem fake.

"I've already called your mother. If you suddenly don't go, won't it be easier for her to notice something's wrong?"

This one sentence left Zhou Yunjie speechless.

"I can go back to Junting, but... you can't live there."

Shen Zhiyu turned to look at her, and after a moment of silence, he nodded, "Okay, I'll go back to Shen Garden."

Zhou Yunjie clutched his stomach, frowning deeply, pretending to be in pain. He said softly, "If you're worried, just ask the part-time worker to come and take care of me."

Shen Zhiyu didn't refute it anymore, but just quietly started the car and drove away from the hospital.

After sending Zhou Yunjie home, Shen Zhiyu didn't let her do anything. He entered the bedroom and pressed her to sit on the bed. He opened her wardrobe and randomly picked up two pieces of clothes and stuffed them into her suitcase.

"Your clothes are all over at Junting. Just pick up two to use as examples."

Zhou Yunjie didn't say anything.

Shen Zhiyu quickly zipped up the suitcase, stood up and gestured to her, "Let's go."

After leaving home with Wen Jingyi's numerous warnings and instructions, Zhou Yunjie looked at the man beside him and felt indescribable. He remained silent all the way.
